Live Raiders Blogging

Minnesota - 19
at
Washington - 16
I picked: Washington (incorrect)
Close game decided by a last second field goal.

Now its time for San Diego Chargers
at
Oakland Raiders

Let the Live Blogging begin.

The Raiders are being introduced right now and I'm pumped. I'm live in my chair with my Randy Moss jersey on, aand ready to go.

San Diego calls the toss: tales.
Raiders win the toss, lets hook 'em up!

I'll either be euphoric during these live blogs, or I'll be angry and bitching...it depends on the score.

Chris Carr is back to receive the kick. Reshard Lee takes the ball up to around the 22 yardline where the new Raiders offense will take the field for the first time in a real game.

First Raiders drive.
  1. Brooks back to pass finds Courtney Anders for a gain of 8 or 9.
  2. Lamont Jordan carries to the Raider 35 yardline picking up the first down.
  3. Lamont Jordan carries up to the Raiders 39 yardline for a gain of 4. Pretty basic stuff so far, but that's ok. I'm not a fan of cuteness on my football team.
  4. Lamont Jordan carries up to the 40 yardline, where it will be third and 5. We're going to get a steady diet of Lamont Jordan all game long.
  5. Aaron Brooks on the QB keeper takes the ball to the Chargers 48 yardline, a gain of 12 and a first down. Kerry Collins could never do that in a million years.
  6. Aaron Brooks uses the first Raiders timeout of the half.

We go to commercial, but as a note, the Raiders used a curious line for a few plays on this series. They inserted Kevin Boothe into the lineup at right guard and moved Paul McQuistan outside of Lankston Walker essentially as a tight end.

    and we're back.

First and 10 at the San Diego 49.
  7. Aaron Brooks pass to Courtney Anderson is incomplete. Second and 10. It was a big hit from the Chargers safety.
  8. Lamont Jordan carries and is hit hard by the same Chargers safety that nailed Anderson.
  9. Aaron Brooks pass to Randal Williams is broken up. The Raiders will have to punt.
  10. Shane Lechler punts into the endzone for a touchback.

The drive started out strong, but then fizzled out. Now we'll see how the defense fairs.
