Haynesworth ejected from game after stomping on opponents head.
I wouldn't be doing my blogging job if I didn't link to this story coming out of the Dalls Cowboys victory over the Tennessee Titans
After a play, Titans DT Albert Haynesworth stepped on the head of Cowboys center Andre Gurode.
This resulted in a cut opening on Gurode that required 30 stitches to close.
Haynesworth was also: Ejected from the game. I expect that the NFL will hand down a stiff fine and or suspention.
I agree with Pro Football Talk in so far as this could be categorized as a criminal act.
If you or I did the same thing at our job as Haynesworth did on Sunday we'd be fired and have a meeting with the local law enforcement. This is kind of like the Todd Burtuzzi incident from a few seasons ago in the NHL and the fact that these are violent games does not mean that there is not a line that can be crossed.
This was not an accident, especially seeing as how many accounts say he did it twice.
It will be interesting to see where this goes from here.
