OCC Television Coverage: TNA iMPACT 10/19/2006

Yeah, I lied. I actually got a burst of energy about 9:30 so I'm ready to go.

Welcome to the TNA recap that means more to you than for The God and Jesus and Mr. McMahon.

This is WWE Jr. The same face of professional wrestling.
Ok, the thing really didn't say that, but I believe in truth in advertising.

Angle interview highlights, followed by parts of the Joe and Christian promo. Wouldn't it be convenient if Joe and Angle were somehow involved in the same segment tonight?

Yeah, lets not get weird. Highlights and I use the term loosely of the fight that wasn't a match and the 20 run-ins.

No opening yet.
  • Mike Tenay is at the ring. He says that Joe must return the title or he will be removed from the roster. Yeah, that's a big threat look at how it impacted Eric young.

    Now we have the opening!!!

Biggest PPV in history hype from West, I don't even have the energy this week.

  • There's a fight that has already started, TNA doesn't waste anytime throwing multiple people into a segment.

Some stupid music hits and oh we know what's coming its the guy from Heroes of Wrestling. Please, oh please let him cut that promo again. I'd love a copy of that show if anyone can help me out.

Tenay: Just when you think you've seen everything in TNA, Jake Roberts shows up. Funny, but Jake Roberts showed up long before I ever thought I had seen everything in TNA. I didn't for example think I had seen Lou Thesz Vs. Verne Gagne in Ultimate X yet. Neither did I think I had seen Warrior come out and turn democrat.

Jake Roberts: Ok, this promo was the new greatest thing in TNA. He said he wouldn't referee Monsters Ball, he'd be our guide. Only there was much heavy breathing involved.

  • Jeremy Borash is backstage and hoping for Samoa Joe, he finds Kurt Angle instead. I don't know if I'd be disappointed or not if I were expecting Joe and got Kurt Angle.

    Commercial Break!!!
Road to Glory commercial. Oh, that should be a must see program. By must see, I mean perfectly skippable.

  • TNA gets Starr struck at Bound for Glory. Not if he's in that X-battle royal.

Tenay, what an eventful impact we've had so far. Yeah, right!! One segment with 100 people, I mean we only see that every week.

    1. Christian Cage Vs. Norman Smiley

You know cause the world demanded it and stuff, and this demand was easier to grant than world piece.

It occurs to me that this 8-mile streetfight had better go for 8 miles.

Norman is in his screamin gimmick. Everyone wants to come to TNA in prime time says Tenay. Ok, I look forward to Cena and DX on Nov. 16. TNA promised everyone, they'd better deliver.

I hadn't mentioned that Duane is here, and he just said "I can't take Shark Boy seriously." I suggest joining the club, its called the whole wide world.

Rhino comes out after Shark Boy got beat up after Christian beat Smiley. Got that? Good because there will be a test.

  • Borash in the back, Tenay hopes he's still got Angle, I hope he can live with Eric Young. TNA explains, well sort of that Young will wrestle Larry Z for his job that he already lost at BFG.

    Commercial Break!!!
BFG commercial running the card down. You know if it wasn't a horrible card that's be a great idea.

  • Borash is in the back with the 2 stooges pretending to be Senshi. Senshi wasn't amused by the impression, either that or he's taking a stand against lame Skits.

    1. Jay Lethal Vs. Senshi

Serious is Senshi's middle name. We will now call him Sen Serious Shi.

    Sen Serious Shi wins.

You don't want to miss Road to Glory on Saturday, yes I do, believe me I do.

Senshi continues to pound on Lethal and savior of lame segments everywhere Chris Sabin comes to the ring.

  • Nash and Shelley press conference. Its in a bar.
Kevin Nash Open X-division gauntlet battle royal...that's not hard to say or anything. Nash teases that Hall will be in.
Bob Newhart, Tom Zenk, Erik watts, Abba, and Paul Hogan are mentioned for the battle royal. Ok, that was kind of funny but if they don't deliver I will want my money back. Actually, I expect to want my money back either way.

  • BG James is supposed to give a surprising interview after the break. Perhaps it is going to be the next step in the Jeff Jarrett face turn? The observer reported that the plan is to turn Jarrett face and Aline him with the James Gang. We'll find out after the....

    Commercial Break!!!
    St. Louis 3
    New York 1
bottom of the 9th, 2 on nobody out.

  • B.G. James says that Jarrett has a lot of weight on his shoulders. Yep, they're turning him face.

Talking heads run-down the lineup for BFG, as I flip back to the game briefly.

    1. Americas Most Wanted/Gail Kim and LAX Vs. AJ Styles, Christopher Daniels & the James Gang

Hey, its the Tag team match with teams together for no reason at all. The new guy can't hold a candle to Moody Jack who is reportedly out of the company entirely.

Duane: So what does it make you if you are a former member of LAX?

    Commercial Break!!!
3-1 Cardinals with 2 out in the bottom of the 9th. Bases are loaded for the Mets. If I don't go back to iMPACT for a bit, now you'll know why. Carlos Beltran goes down on strikes to end the game.

You know, Tenay and West mention the hatred between LAX and the champs, but they don't mention that the James Gang and LAX had a wild feud or AMW and Styles/Daniels feud.

We've got a series of finishers and signature moves being hit.

Winners: James Gang, Styles and Daniels

Tenay: I understand that there is going to be a 4-way between James Gang, Team 34, The Naturals and AMW. Seriously, he just off-handedly mentioned it.

Now we've got LAX and AMW fighting.

Hernandez gives Gail the border toss, how dare he? Don't make me come down there!!! You know this makes me want to see AMW Vs. LAX this Sunday...too bad that's not the match.

Tenay and West are outraged by the actions of Hernandez. I guess Kim and AMW are turning face as well, just like Jarrett. I'm in favor of a Gail face turn, of course there's not much she can do that I wouldn't favor.

    Commercial Break!!!
We will hear from Joe next! I can't wait, see look. Notice how hard it is for me to wait? I know you're impressed.

Hey, special note this is post 900 at the OCC. That should earn us an ad click or 10 so lets get it started or we will send Hernandez to give you the border toss.

I wonder if they'll even mention that move on Kim at the PPV on sunday? current odds suggest that they won't. Commercials for movies way more popular than the Marine, but that doesn't really narrow it down now does it?

  • Another wacky Sting video with biblical quotes. I'm just going to say it right now, I hate these for so many reasons I wouldn't even begin to know how to count them all.

  • Mike Tenay and Hebner are in the ring. Hebner is in charge of official documents, How does one get this job? What does it pay? I'm always looking for new opportunities.

  • Samoa Joe comes to the ring with the belt.
Joe, we need your answer. Yes, I will die without it.

Fans chant "Keep the title" I guess they want Joe to get the Eric Young treatment, which will result in a PPV answer.

  • Some music hits and here comes Kurt Angle. I wouldn't call this the greatest entrance in history though but what do I know? I'm not Kurt Angle.

The crowd pop was supposed to be the largest in TNA history but its not coming across that way on TV. Of course it is just a crowd of 900 who got to see it for free. No wonder this company loses money.

  • Joe and Angle face off with Angle getting the crowd support. Angle head-butts Joe and then gives him the Angle slam. Joe punishes the celebrating Kurt Angle with a kick to the head. Now Jarrett comes out and gets his belt back.

You know Joe had better interject himself in the main event of BFG or this means nothing.

Thoughts: Well, I don't know what to make of this show. The ending segment was hot but the problems that plague this show and this company are not going away.

Oh yeah, there is a Fozzy video playing right now, I'm sure you've hard of them. I'm also sure you don't care.
