People are dumb: Teen arrested in bomb scare

A couple things about this story.
1. A friend of mine works at this restaurant.

2. This reminds me of my senior year of high school.


It was May 1999, and not too long after the Columbine shootings. Well, things were pretty tense that whole time all over the place but things got taken up a level the day Huron High received a bomb threat.

Some goofy freshman had written a note threatening that a bomb would blow up the school during class on a Friday afternoon. So the school was searched and nothing was found and even though everyone was searched upon entering the building the next morning, school went on as planned.

Then we got hurded to the gym around 10 as someone found a suspicious looking package in the parking lot that was later to be determined not actually a bomb just designed to look like one.

Now here's the dumb part. The students that found this thing decided that the best coarse of action would be to bring it in to the building.

But the really dumb part is that the package was made up by a friend of the guy that originally wrote the note because he decided to take the thing to the next level.

Yeah, the judge was pretty pissed.
