Pro Wrestling: Today's funny from Wrestling Observer.com

Quite the comical news update from Dave over at Wrestling Observer so lets run down some of the things I found funny.

--On WBCN radio in Boston, there were ads yesterday for Survivor Series. Nothing wrong with that, except the ad was for last year's show touting the return
of The Undertaker, Ric Flair vs. HHH in a last man standing match and John Cena defending the title against Kurt Angle

OCC: Well, they must think it’s a good show. Perhaps when the WWF bought WCW back in the day, they got more than tapes.

And now we move on to something that got Euan to suggest this as a Vince McMahon scouting trip.

--Schools in Bandung, Indonesia are banning students from emulating pro wrestling after the father of a 9-year-old boy said he was beaten at recess by older
children copying wrestling techniques shown on Smackdown. The boy actually died a month later and police have not confirmed his death was linked to imitating
WWE shows, which airs on a nightly basis in Indonesia. They noted a fifth grader had to have his face sewn up after he was injured copying wrestling. They
claim "Smackdown techniques" involve kicking, punching and throwing and are popular among kids in the country. There have also been urging to take the
shows off television.

OCC: I’m going to cut myself up just so Shitty Raw’s get taken off of my Television.

--Poll on which of these companies you expect to see improve the most in North American popularity in 2007
WWE 11.1%
UFC 20.4%
Pride 13.5%
IFL 1.4%
TNA 37.4%
Rumble Promotions 2.1%
Strike Force 1.4%
ROH 12.6%

OCC: In a related story, it has just been discovered that 37.4% of people should not be allowed to vote in any kind of poll ever again. Funny, but I could’ve sworn TNA won this poll last year too and look at how well that’s worked out…it esulted in the return of Vince Russo.

Speaking of TNA that brings us to our final note:

TNA has its most ambitious event to date running the 15,000-seat Arena Monterrey in Monterrey, Nuevo Leon, Mexico tomorrow night. Let's just say things
aren't exactly going smoothly for the show.

OCC: I have my theories, and most of them involve TNA having trouble finding enough poles for their pole on a pole on a pole match set to headline the show.
