Television Coverage: The Road to Genesis
Yeah, I decided to look at this one.
TNA...We Are Wrestling~!
I won't make fun of it yet because lord help me I like the slogan.
This opening video has David Sahadi written all over it. Not in the litteral sense as that just would be weird but you've got footage of the moon landing and such spliced in with footage of Sting, LAX, Samoa Joe and all the other stuff building up this Pay Per View.
Borash and Hemme are your talking heads for today.
Curiously, the world title match is getting top billing over the Samoa Joe Vs. Kurt Angle match. Hopefully, TNA is not so stupid to put Sting and Abyss on last. They'll get no reaction after Joe and Angle.
We get a video about Kurt Angle. Its funny because they show the reaction of Tenay and West to the announcement made at No Surrender.
I swear this is what they said.
West: This is unbelievable!
Tenay: I don't believe it.
Commercial Break!!!
The same video package that we saw thursday on iMPACT for Abyss is airing now. Its fine because it was a good package and its not like they necessarily need 30 minutes of new material for this kind of a show anyway.
Borash says that Abyss survived the Fight for the Right tournament, I want to see that on a T-shirt. "I survived the Fight for the Right Tournament", I think I deserve one.
Now we have the X-division video. Apparently, AJ Styles has returned to the X-division to restore respect and honor. Well, that's TNA admitting they fucked the division up pretty bad.
Borash says that Christian and AJ Styles have never been face to face in the ring. I'm sure they've been in the ring at the same time and looked at each other. TNA is clearly lying.
Hey, Christian Cage has been in TNA for an entire year. I don't know why we should care but TNA seems to think its important.
Another Joe Vs. Angle package airs, you'd think they were fighting this weekend or something.
Commercial Break!!!
Video package of the AMW Vs. LAX feud. Its like a game of scrabble broke out. It was kind of a brief one actually.
Now we get Kurt Angle Vs. Samoa Joe video package Part III because everything is more epic when typed in Roman Numerals.
Commercial Break!!!
That was 1 quick segment. Anyway, they showed a Raw Vs. Smackdown commercial, I wonder if we'll see a commercial for the TNA video game during Raw? I kind of doubt it.
Christy Hemme can't believe the lineup for Genesis, all 3 titles are on the line. Yeah, that hasn't happened since....last month!!!
Now we get another hype package for Samoa Joe and Kurt Angle. Its funny because Sting-Abyss was the last match they ran down when talking about the card earlier but Angle Vs. Joe has gotten the majority of the promotion as it very well should. I can also tell you that I'm going to be sick of the phrase "Dream Match of the Decade" by the time that PPV is over.
Now we have the Sting video that aired on iMPACT and probably a zillion other places.
We close out with a music video recapping everything.
Thoughts: It was fine for what it was it put the focus on the match that should be focused on.
Hey, Rochelle Leah is on my TV now. *****!
