WWE RAW 4/16/07 Live Coverage
Hello one and all! Here we are with another edition of RAW. There have been some interesting matches set up for Backlash so far. Let's see how they build these up and what other matches will be set up.
Coach comes out to start the show. He announces Cena against Rated RKO for tonight then introduces Vince. He puts down the Italy crowd then introduces Umaga. Vince reminds us about what happened with Lashley last week through a video package. He regrets to inform us that Shane will not be there tonight and that Lashley would not be there either. He issues an open challenge for anybody to face Umaga for the I-C Title and nobody comes out right away. He berates the Italian fans some more then tells a guy in the audience to come in the ring. He asks the guy (Santino Morella)a few questions then asks for a ref who rings the bell. Santino gets a quick flurry in, gets a nearfall but Vince comes in and makes it a No-DQ match. Estrada slaps Santino who slaps him back which allows Umaga to attack. Lashley has come down and is laying into Umaga. Vince is back in with a chair, tries to hit Lashley but he blocks the shot and takes the chair. He waffles Umaga with it about 3 times, spears him then puts Santino on him to win the IC Title.

Santino and Lashley are still in the ring with Lawler interviewing them. He thanks Lashley, WWE and the fans.
Backstage with Carlito and Flair. Flair says to forget about last week and focus on tonight.

Flair and Carlito have come out for their match against The World's Greatest Tag Team. Speaking of Flair, I watched the program disc from the new 4 Horsemen set and I loved it! Carlito on fire early on. Flair tagged in who lights up Haas but Shelton comes in to turn the tide then gets officially tagged in. WGTT really working over Flair but he counters a move then gets the tag to Carlito. Haas trips up Carlito while the ref is distracted which allows Shelton to hit the T-Bone for the win. Carlito walks off angry.
Commercial.
Maria is backstage with Cena. He starts talking about his match tonight but HBK comes in and says he doesn't care about what happens to Cena anymore and says he's gonna win next week.

Melina is backstage getting ready for the fashion show. Eugene comes in, says hi and leaves.

Nitro vs. Eugene is up. Eugene is not even allowed to get his jacket off due to Nitro going right after him. Nitro with the Snapshot getting the squash win.

Diva Fashion show is up. Candice is very comfortable in her outift but Victoria comes out and takes her high heels off. Mickie James and Maria look smoking and Melina's outfit was catered to her unique ring entrance. The fans choose Torrie Wilson the winner and Melina attacks her which breaks it all down with the faces left in the ring.

Jeff Hardy is taking on Lance Cade. Cade in control early on but Jeff turns it around with a Whisper in the Wind. Cade rolls outside which brings Jeff out who throws him back in and Cade takes advantage again. Jeff fights back again, throws Cade in the turnbuckle but gets an elbow to the face. Jeff back in control and this crowd is hot. Murdoch distracts Jeff which allows Cade to avoid a Swanton then clotheslines him for the pin.

Masters is now in the ring. He talks about himself then Super Crazy comes out for their match. Super Crazy was a flurry of offense but Masters now in control. Super Crazy surprises everybody by kicking out of some nearfalls. Amazingly, Super Crazy got in some nice moves before Master flattened him for the win.

Backstage with Rated RKO. Orton says that he'll forgive what happened last week and Edge will forgive what happened at WM 23.
Commercial.
Main Event time. Edge takes on Cena first then tags in Orton. Cena with a nearfall but Orton takes back control. Edge tagged back in as we go to break. Back from commercial with Orton now taking it to Cena. Edge now back in with Cena only getting a few moves in between who tags Orton. This crowd is firmly against Cena. FU attempt which gets solidly booed but Edge counters to cheers. Edge and Cena fighting on the top turnbuckle with Cena getting the upperhand. Orton comes in to attack Cena and HBK is now down. Five Knuckle Shuffle and another FU attempt but Orton dropkicks them into the ref. Edge goes for a Spear but hits Orton instead. HBK tries for a Superkick on Cena but hits Edge instead. Cena FUs HBK then pins Edge. Cena is the only man left standing in the ring as the show ends.
