ECW TV 6/19/07 Live Coverage

-- Our live coverage for tonight's edition of ECW TV will begin at 10PM EST/9PM CST. Matches announced: Chris Benoit vs Elijah Burke, and CM Punk vs Marcus Cor Von with the winners competing for the ECW World Title at the Vengeance pay-per-view on Sunday. Plus, an appearance by THE BOOGEYMAN~!!! Coverage is behind the cut and remember to refresh your web browser to keep current with the coverage.

-- The first edition of ECW following the Supplemental Draft is live from Charlotte, matches announced tonight are for Chris Benoit vs Elijah Burke, and CM Punk vs Marcus Cor Von.

-- Joey Styles and Tazz talk about Vince's fake death, footage of "eyewitnesses" is aired along with the limo explosion... yes, I HATE this fucking angle, it sucks a cock and if I weren't covering this show I'd continue my current WWE boycott.

-- Chris Benoit vs Elijah Burke: Benoit takes Burke to the mat, both men back on their feet and Burke goes for an early pin attempt. Benoit slaps Burke, goes for a chop and Burke takes down Benoit for the pin. Benoit attempts a crossface, Burke back in control and stomping Benoit on the mat, goes for a pin and Benoit kicks out. Burke runs towards Benoit and hits the ropes, Benoit tries for pin attempts and the trademark trifecta of german suplexes. Benoit goes for a flying headbutt and crashes into Burke's knees, Benoit puts Burke in a sharpshooter and Burke taps.

-- Benoit eyes up the ECW title which on display at ringside.

-- Jesus Christ, they're showing Stephanie's tear-ridden promo about dead daddy from last night's Raw. Waste of frikkin' time.

-- Styles plugs the 3 hour Raw next Monday. Thank God I'm not watching Raw these days.

-- Boogeyman vs Sean Alexander: Alexander kicks Boogey, Boogey then chokes jobber boy and slams him to the mat for the pinfall... afterwards Boogey spills gallons of worms onto Alexander, fuckin' gross.

-- Daniel "I am not a federal investigator but I play one on TV" Beck discusses the McMahon "investigation".... ECW TV: Where you get to see Raw Recaps every Tuesday at 10 on SciFi~!!!

-- Tommy Dreamer vs The Vampire: I can't believe I agree with Ric here but god damn I miss Ariel! So get this... Dreamer lost~! OMGZ I WUV DUBEL DUBEL EEEEEEEE~!!!!!!11111!!!~~~!!11~!!~~~~

-- You know what's on right now? Footage of Vince getting in the limo followed by an EXPLOSION~!!! I'm glad this was aired because I haven't seen it a billion times before.

-- Johnny Nitro vs Nunzio: Nice fast-paced match at times with Nitro in control, Nunzio's no slouch and shows off some decent offense. Nunzio goes for two pin attempts on Nitro, Nitro ends up with the win. I wouldn't mind seeing these two wrestle every week, Nitro pulled out some cool athletic moves.

-- Cor Von tells Burke that tonight he's going to beat Punk and then Benoit on Sunday to become the ECw champ. Burke wasn't too happy to hear this as he displayed another great facial expression.

-- Extreme Expose are creaming their jeans over The Miz backstage... sluts.

-- The Vengeance theme is cool in a Limp Bizkit kind of way...

-- If Vince pops out of a cake next Monday on Raw for his "memorial night" then I'll watch WWE TV again....

-- CM Punk vs Marcus Cor Von: One question... how the fuck is Monty Brown supposed to be tough with that wack-ass entrance theme?? He should be a KILLER~!!! Not smooooooooooove like Ex-Lax. Punk begins laying in elbows to Cor Von, Cor Von now on the offense. Punk hits a cross-body and goes for a pin attempt, Punk now working Cor Von's arm. Cor Von now working on Punk's right arm which he whipped into the turnbuckle pole. Cor Von works on Punk's shoulder, Punk flips him over for the pin, Cor Von kicks out. Cor Von has Punk's left arm twisted up, Punk goes for a comeback hitting tons of offense on Cor Von. Punk hits Cor Von with a flying knee and follows up with a bulldog, Punk flies off the top rope and Cor Von slams him head first to the mat, that looked fuckin' nasty. Punk hits the Go To Sleep and wins the match.

-- Punk vs Benoit for the ECW title at Vengeance on Sunday.

-- Benoit hits the ring and has a stare down with Punk, both men shake hands. This should be an awesome match.

-- Final thoughts: Tonight's episode wasn't bad, in fact there were three decent matches marred by WWE shoving Fake Dead Vince shit down our throats. Two programs I'd like to see, Benoit/Burke and Nitro/Nunzio although having Benoit and Nitro wrestle everyone in ECW is gold.

and to think, a few months ago you were worried about TNA driving me insane.

If I didn't fear the rampage of rage that would eventually occur, I'd suggest you recap this show all the time, but I like you too much and find you too valuable to the site for that...Euan, well...you know.

I appreciate that, this is what happens after I watch a week's worth of ROH, IWA Mid South and old WWWF DVDs, I have a potential meltdown as I attempt to decipher the insanity of WWE.

Just consider yourself lucky Art. Not only did I have to endure all the sappy crap on RAW yesterday but I was sickened by what they did on Smackdown as well. I hate this angle with a passion.

I'd just like to take this moment to point out that according to spoilers, Angle Christian and rhino wrestled for 30 minutes on the second hour of iMPACT that will air next week.

Sure, about 800 guys ran in at the end, but I think we're moving in the right direction here.

Wade, you deserve a Purple Heart... as for Euan, a Mustard-Yellow Heart would be appropriate for covering this dreck every week.

Cage/Rhino 30 min. sounds cool...

That'll go great with my military costume. I'll be the best dressed at the make-believe military academy!

TNA actually gave 30 minutes to a wrestling match? That is astonishing! The run ins are normal though

If the WWE was to continue running crap like this, TNA which is struggling could take advantage and with a new tv deal coming up could take a lot of viewers from them. We could relive the Monday Night Wars again.
