LANDELL RETURNS TO SITE OF WRESTLING GLORY AT INDY SPEEDROME

Blood Hound Underground Indianapolis Speedrome TM
Indianapolis, Indiana
June 5, 2007

AWA Professional Wrestling, the major league of professional wrestling since 1959, is back for its second year at “the World’s Home of the Figure 8” ® on Wednesday June 13th. The squared-circle superstars are back for more headlocks, body slams, and dropkicks off the top rope for fans of the sport. Tickets are on sale now for this colossal racing and wrestling event.

And once again this year, there will be plenty of exciting Speedrome racing action on the docket. The Jiffy Lube Late Models and Hornets will take to the surface for side-by-side competition. The night will begin with the full racing program, then capped off by a spine-tingling Jiffy Lube Late Model Figure 8. The AWA Wrestling extravaganza follows all that. Also, during the night will be an autograph session for the superstars of the AWA. It gives all the fans a chance to meet and greet the athletes up close.

RICKY LANDELL – AWA WORLD-1 HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPION
He was born in the twin cities region of Minnesota, later moving to Upstate New York, and currently residing in Northern New Jersey. Education includes graduating with a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Business from Plymouth State University of Plymouth, New Hampshire, as well as being one of the first two graduating students of the Pro-Wrestling WORLD-1 Dojo.

Ricky has had the honor and pleasure of training with some of the best in the world. Landell's primary trainer is a former NWA, ECW, and AWA World Heavyweight Champion, “The King of Old School,” Steve Corino. As a mentor, Steve has guided Landell's career from the beginning, and continues to do so today. He also had the opportunity to briefly train with Tatsuhito Takaiwa while touring with Pro-Wrestling ZERO-ONE in Japan in July 2004. Landell has toured the country working for various companies along the way. Guidance and a desire to continually learn is at the forefront of Landell's mind, as he absorbs life lessons from some of the greatest athletes in the world. Performers such as CW Anderson, Jack Victory, Jonnie Stewart, Glacier, LODI, and others have helped him greatly along with way.

On January 29, 2006 Landell won his first professional title, the WORLD-1 Heavyweight Championship, which was Previously Held By Former ECW Star and current Pro-Wrestling ZERO1-MAX fighting athlete, Masato Tanaka. During that time, Landell became the face of Pro-Wrestling WORLD-1, defending the title in W-1 Territories in Pennsylvania, Michigan, Florida, and Georgia.

In mid-2006, Landell was inducted into the group known as The Extreme Horsemen. The Extreme Horsemen group was formed in Dusty Rhodes’s Turnbuckle Championship Wrestling (TCW), with original members Steve Corino, CW Anderson, and Barry Windham. The group was later reformed as Simon Diamond joined Corino and Anderson in the Major League Wrestling (MLW) promotion. Since that time, Corino and Anderson had great success competing in Japan for Pro-Wrestling ZERO1-MAX. Today, Landell remains the newest and youngest member of The Extreme Horsemen, competing nationwide alongside Corino and Anderson.

Most recently, Landell has gained prominence while working for the American Wrestling Association (AWA), winning their World Tag Team Championship w/Steve Corino on 6/14/06 here at the Speedrome. Together, Landell & Corino prominently defended the titles all over the world. For more check out www.rickylandell.com
