Outside The Ring - With Eric Young And A1

OUTSIDE THE RING: ERIC YOUNG AND A1
By Ross Forman

ERIC YOUNG
The folks at Blockbuster brag that they carry more than 55,000 titles, including classics and new releases ... and Eric Young is well on his way to seeing
every one of them.

"I watch everything," said Young, who has an unlimited movie rental pass from Blockbuster and watches about 50 or 60 movies per month.

Popcorn? Nope, because he doesn't like it. Instead, it's just a big glass of water or Crystal Light.

Young even has a watching-way, so to speak. If it's before 6 p.m., when he's watching the movie, he's sitting on a chair. If it's after 8 p.m., he's laying
in bed.

Young's all-time favorites are: Face/Off, Paradise Alley and Tommy Boy.

His favorite actor is Tom Cruise. "He's an awesome actor, but is out of his mind," Young said. His favorite actress is Angelina Jolie.

So what qualifies as a good movie?

"One that makes me forget that I'm watching a movie," Young said.

Young's worst-ever list includes Zombie Beach, Ultra Violet and AeonFlux.

The last movie Young saw in a theatre was Clerks 2, "which was absolutely hilarious," he said

OCC Comment: Wow, that’s a lot of movies to watch a month, that’s 2 a day and I’m sure there are days when he can’t do that. I think seeing all of those movies has made him paranoid.

A1
Sure, he's a fan of the Canadian Football League (CFL), played in his native country, but it's the National Football League (NFL) that really scores with
A1, a diehard Miami Dolphins fan.

"I'll watch any football game, but I prefer the NFL because it's more publicized, better produced and just a better game," said A1, the muscled former member
of Team Canada.

His favorite football players are Dan Marino, Jason Taylor and Troy Polamalu. His dream in-ring tag team partner from the football world is Ray Lewis.

A1 tabbed Arizona as the darkhorse for the upcoming NFL season. His favorite to advance to the Super Bowl next February is Miami, naturally, "especially
if (Dante) Culpepper stays healthy; he'll be the missing link Miami has needed at quarterback since Dan Marino left."

A1's favorite CFL team is the Hamilton (Ontario) Tiger Cats, especially since, as a teenager, he played for the Junior Tiger Cats. A1 played on the offensive
line, the defensive line and on special teams.

"One thing I really like about the NFL is, you basically get to smack people in the head ... and get paid to do it, which is a lot like TNA," A1 said.

A1, who is 29 and lives in LaSalle (Ont.), said TNA's top football fans include Simon Diamond (especially anything and everything related to Notre Dame)
Hernandez, Bobby Roode and Mike Tenay.

Here's a look at some A1 facts:

- Has a golden retriever, named Flair.

- Does cardio training twice a day. He rides a seated bicycle in the morning while playing video games. He walks his dog in the evening at a local park,
which has small hills, and he wears ankle weights.

- Works out with weights four times per week.

- Goes to the grocery story every day. "I just like fresh meat and fresh vegetables." He spends about $250 per week on food

OCC Comment: As much as I don’t like the Dolphins, he has a point in that they are a strong contender for the Superbowl this year. I’m not so sure that I’d call Arizona a sleeper because they’ve been called that every year for seemingly ever now and it never works out that way.

I wish I could afford to spend $250 a week on food.

I do have it on good authority that Andy Douglas of the Naturals is a Raiders fan, so I hope the Naturals are tag champions forever, ok not really.
