Alvis is in the building

Just saw this note posted over at Raiders Blog

The big question since Doug Gabriel was traded to New England on Saturday is who would start at receiver oposite Randy Moss for the Raiders?

The answer isn't Jerry Porter last year's starter, preseason highlight Johnny Morant or even the returning Ronald Curry.

Its 32 year old Alvis Whitted.

I am surprised by this move. I know Porter is still in the team's doghouse so I wasn't surprised it won't be him, but I would've expected Morant over Whitted.

Whitted has speed.

James Jett also had speed.

Nobody growing up that wants to play in the NFL says I want to be the next James Jett.

I expect Porter and Curry to be heavily involved.
