Future Features: Animation in 2007 and beyond
Jim was busy yesterday and today.
The link in the title will take you to news on 3 non-Disney features coming out in the next couple of years.
My thoughts:
Bee Movie is going to be something. Jerry Seinfeld's finger prints will be all over this one. He is the writer of the screenplay, producer of the film and also provides the voice for the lead Bee. The plot sounds like an interesting twist (see link for details don't worry it doesn't spoil too much) but it will be interesting to see how it performs as it goes up against Disney's Enchanted on 11/2/2007. Enchanted as I mentioned last month is a Disney feature that will feature 2D animation for the first time in a Disney film since Home on the Range in 2004.
Horton Hears a Who I have posted 3 links related to this one already today. Jim's news is news that I've already mentioned which is that Jim Carrey and Steve Carrell are on board. I'm not really familiar with the story though I'm sure I've heard it before, I just don't remember it.
Kung-fu Panda has Jack Black voicing the leading character. I'm there because I'm a big fan of Jack Black. Jackie Chan among others is involved as well.
Its going to be a busy next couple of years in the Feature Animation game and we'll be on top of all of it or a day behind the pack which ever comes first.
