Hello, my name is Wade and I'm a Red Dwarfaholic
Hi everybody! This is Wade Wallenstein. I've finally thought of something to add to the OCC and I think you'll like it. The title of this blog says it all: I'm here to talk about the awesome British Sci-Fi/Sitcom known as "Red Dwarf".
I origianlly got into Red Dwarf years ago when I had seen it on PBS at night. Back then I watched it every now and then without understanding much of what was going on but I loved the comedy. I tried to watch it every time it was on but that was hard. After a while I stopped watching altogether but would pick it up again some years later.
I was looking at Deep Discount DVD and noticed they had the DVD sets for Red Dwarf. I decided to start with the first "series" and go on from there. At first I was confused by the fact that there were only 6 episodes but then I found out that's how UK shows were made. I bought Series 2 and 3 and they were just as funny. I haven't had the money to get the other series so I downloaded the rest of them as Divx video files just to see how they were. So far, I have Series 1 to 3 and I picked up Series 7 Aug. 29th. I have found their shows not only to be very hilarious but also a little cutting edge. I hadn't seen a lot of the story ideas on any other Sci-Fi show and they all seemed to be well researched. They may not have had a huge budget for effects or sets but that doesn't matter.
There you have it. My first blog for the OCC. If I can think of anything else to blog about I'll definetly post it here.
YOU HAVE BEEN HUMBLED!!!

man, I haven't seen Red Dwarf in years, I thought that was a great show and I'm not into sci-fi shows at all. Thanks to this reminder I may have to watch these shows again.

That's one of the things I love about it but forgot to mention in the blog, lol. There was never too much "techno-babble". They even took a stab at Star Trek in the Series 3 episode "The Last Day".
