Live Raiders Blogging

The Raiders await the kickoff.

The score:
Chargers - 3
Raiders - 0

Chris Carr awaits the kickoff.

Chris Carr takes the kickoff out to the Raiders 32 yardline.

Hopefully the second drive is more effective than the first. We have 3:48 to play in the opening quarter.

Commercial break...and the boss commercial returns! I'm also trying to decide what to eat at halftime and am leaning towards chili.

False start on Robert Gallery starts off the drive horribly. 1st and 15.
  1. Lamont Jordan takes the ball on the toss and is tackled hard by Shawn Mariman. 4 yard loss.
  2. Second 19: Jordan on the draw gains only 2 yards. Disaster of a drive.
  3. Third and 17: Aaron Brooks throws the ball away for an incomplete pass.
  4. 4th and 17: Shane Lechler to punt...again...taken by Eric Parker up to the 30 yardline. a 55 yard punt but a flag is down. Running in to the Kicker against San Diego.

Aweful drive for the Raiders started with a penalty and just got worse.

Second Chargers drive.

  1. LT breaks a big tackle and is pushed out of bounds on the Oakland 5. An absolutely huge gain and yes, I can feel the rage building. A 58 yard run, I want to hurt someone. Michael Huff and Nnamdi Asomugha save the touchdown.
  2. First and goal at the 5: LT dives to the 4 for a 1 yard gain.
  3. LT takes the ball and is knocked back for a 5 yard loss by Nnamdi Asomugha. A couple of nice plays from Nnamdi to save the touchdown.
Philip Rivers calls the second Chargers timeout.
  4. Third and goal at the 9: Rivers trows the pass and its caught by the Tight end but he's tackled at the 1. I'm not even going to try and spell the last name of the guy that caught the pass. Raiders have saved the touchdown for now, but the Chargers may go for it on 4th and goal at the 1.

The first quarter has ended. The Chargers will go for it.

  5. Forth and goal: LT dives into the endzone for a touchdown..

A big play for the Chargers to gain 58 yards gave the Chargers all they needed to get into the endzone. Its tough to stop a team on 4th down. I don't like the way this is going.
