Raiders Trade WR Gabriel to New England

It has not been announced what the Raiders will get in return.

I have some thoughts:

This move would seem to indicate that Jerry Porter will be the starter oposite Randy Moss when the team takes the field on 9/11 against the San Diego Chargers.

It is a good pickup for the Patriots as Gabriel is a quality receiver that was poised to have a breakout season in your humble caretaker's opinion. Probably an early second-day draft choice was gotten in return.

In other notes:

  • He Hate Me wasn't loved by the Raiders as Rod Smart has been given his release. This is too bad as your Old Country Caretaker is a big fan.
  • John Madsen has made the team as a tight end.
  • Kevin Huntley has made the team on the defensive line.

Still trying to get a sense of the other 19 cuts.
