IWA Mid-South returns to Philadelphia, PA w/ Point Proven! on June 30

From IWA Mid-South:

IWA Mid-South returns to Philadelphia, PA with an unbelievably large show. Here is your information for this event:

IWA Mid-South presents
POINT PROVEN!

Saturday Night June 30th, 2007
New Alhambra Arena
7 Ritner Street
Philadelphia, PA

Bell Time - 8 pm; Doors Open at 7 pm

Ticket Prices: $35 front row, $30, $25 and $20 general admission
available via paypal to rottenwife@aol.com or at the door

Main Event - Tag Team Warfare
Tough Crazy Bastards (Necro Butcher & Toby Klein)
vs.
Low Ki & Homicide

Necro Butcher has come up just short on two occassions against Low Ki in singles competition but this time he gets his chance at revenge in a tag team encounter. Toby Klein is Necro's long standing partner and wouldn't mind getting his hands on Low Ki either so Low Ki had to go out and find a partner that could stand up to the hardcore icons of Necro and Toby. No one doubts that Homicide was the perfect choice for his partner. This matchup should be one of the hardest hitting matches in IWA history!

30 Minute Iron Man Match

"Lightning" Mike Quackenbush vs. Claudio Castagnoli

Mike Quackenbush has had a couple of outstanding matches against Claudio Castagnoli here in IWA Mid-South including a battle in Midlothian during TPI and then in Plainfield, Indiana. Claudio pulled out the victory both times and now Quackenbush wants to gain revenge in the place both men call home, Philadelphia, PA. Who can outlast the other in this technical wrestling fan's dream encounter?

6 Man Tag Team Match

Super Dragon, Kevin Steen, & a Mystery Partner vs. Chris Bosh, Scott Lost, & Joey Ryan

This six man tag will showcase the best that Pro Wrestling Guerrilla has to offer. It will be Super Dragon's return to the Philly area after being out for quite a while with injuries. Who will he pick as his mystery partner to take on long time foes: Joey Ryan, Scott Lost & Chris Bosh? Will he pick El Generico if he likes how their team performs in the Candido Cup or will he have someone else in mind for this huge return?

Two Hard Hitting Strong Style Showdowns

Chris Hero vs. Davey Richards
&
Drake Younger vs. TNA star Hotstuff Hernandez

Chris Hero was once considered the "franchise" of IWA Mid-South back during his wars with CM Punk in the early to mid 2000s. While Hero may not perform in IWA as frequently anymore, he still carries a huge target on his back for younger guys wanting to make an impact in IWA. Davey Richards wants to prove that he can be the future of the IWA and win a TPI and a SST as Hero did in 2000 and 2005 respectively. Can Hero show why he was the "franchise" or will Davey prove that he can take that banner from Hero?

In the other Strong Style Showdown, Drake Younger wants to prove that he can go toe to toe with TNA's LAX member Hotstuff Hernandez. Drake has shot into stardom the past year and has been winning titles everywhere he has gone. Can he continue to impress or will Hernandez prove to everyone that Drake still has a ways to go before he can be considered a dominant force in the wrestling world?

IWA Mid-South World Heavyweight Title Match

Champion Chuck Taylor vs. Matt Sydal

Matt Sydal, 2005 TPI winner, will get a chance to be the man to defeat Chuck Taylor for the IWA heavyweight title if Chuck is still the champion at this point. Tiger Mask IV is not going to be in the States at this point now so he has to be removed from the show and we felt that Sydal should stay in a title match.

Six Team Hardcore Rumble

2 teams start out for the first 5 minutes then every 2 minutes after that, another team gets added to the mix. The tag team that wins gets an invite to the Double Death Tag Team Tournament in November.

First two teams announced for the hardcore rumble:

TANK and ICEBERG

and

BRAIN DAMAGE and DERANGED (Vulgar Display of Power)

"The Feel Good Comedy of the Summer"

Tracy Smothers vs. "Black Machismo" Jay Lethal

I don't think much more needs to be said about this contest. How will "Black Machismo" responds when "If the South Would Have Won, We'd of Had It Made" starts playing? How will Tracy respond to Black Machismo? This could rival the 8 man tag at the 2004 Strong Style Tournament.
