WWE Smackdown 6/15/07 Recap
Welcome once again to another edition of Smackdown! I'm recapping this from a Divx video I downloaded and I'm glad we have DVD players that play them. This way I get the experience of watching Smackdown on TV without all the annoying commercials.
We get a Parental Discretion Advised about the "fatality" of Vince McMahon. Gee, I wonder if they're gonna show footage of the limo exploding?
Video package of Vince from RAW. Cole and JBL comment throughout which is something new. Makes me think I'm watching a DVD commentary. They don't show the limo exploding which is odd. We now go to the 10 bell salute and I can slightly hear the crowd booing. They also cut to shots of the crowd laughing and other things.
We now get that video from Edward Kauffman. This one made more sense then that "Federal Agent" video on WWE.com.
London and Kendrick vs. The Greasers. I still chuckle when they say "From the Other Side of the Tracks." L&K double the Greasers to start then we get some quick tags. Greasers take control when Deuce pulls down the top rope then gets tagged in. Domino stops Kendrick for a while but London eventually gets the hot tag and takes both Greasers down. Domino breaks up a pin, takes Kendrick outside which allows Deuce to kick London in the head for the win.
William Regal is now regailing us with memories of Vince McMahon. He actually respected Vince even though he weas made to kiss his butt. Teddy Long now gives us some memories. People are stilling kissing Vince's butt which means this whole storyline must be Vince wanting to know people's real feelings about him, which is odd since most people told him what they thought of him straight out anyway.
Regal vs. Matt Hardy. Matt took control early but Regal turns it around. I haven't seen Regal wrestling for so long that I notice he has a new haircut and has lost some weight. Hardy fights back with a 2nd rope elbow but Regal reverses the Twist of Fate then rolls to the outside. Back in the ring with Regal stomping on Hardy then kneeing him. Regal now with a bow and arrow like submission then goes into another submission. Hadry tries to turn it around but Regal keeps control. 2nd times the charm as Matt fights out the submission then hits the Side Effect for 2. Regal blocks a bulldog then drops Hardy on his head but Matt puts a foot on the ropes. Regal hts a double underhook powerbomb for a nearfall then Hardy hits the Twist of Fate for the win.
Jillian now talks a little about Vince.
We get a video of a fire department coming to the arena Monday night. Interesting pyrotechnics near the front of the limo.
Chavo now gives us his thoughts of Vince.
MVP vs. Batista. We cut backstage to Flair wishing Batista good luck. Exchange of holds with Batista taking control. MVP keeps throwing off Batista's momentum by going outside. MVP gets a cheapshot on Batista then pounds him in the corner then clotheslines him for 2. Batista fights back but MVP scurries to the outside. Batista comes out, tries to throw him into the steps but MVP reverses. Back in the ring with Batista ducking the big kick but hits it on the outside sengin Batista over the security rail then rolls him back in for a nearfall. Batista tries to fight back but MVP keeps control and gets another nearfall. Exchange of punches and Batista takes control with a clothesline then hits a side slam for 2. MVP reverses a powerslam into a DDT for a nearfall, punches him in the corner then tries for the kick again but gets speared and Batista Bombed getting Batista the win.
Sgt. Slaughter now thanks Vince and talks about fighting.
We now get commentary on more WWE.com videos and that stupid Daniel Beck video that didn't do anything.
Edge and Kristal now weigh in with their thoughts on Vince.
Chavo has come out to sit at ringside for Daivari vs. Jamie Knoble vs. Shannon Moore vs. Jimmy Wang Yang. Knoble and Moore are the only left in the ring but it doesn't last long as everybody does high risk moves to the outside. Moore catches Yang on the top rope then Knoble gets under Moore for a Tower of Doom move then Knoble gets 2. Daivari is back in and gets a nearfall then goes after Knoble but gets thrown outside. Moore now on top and hits a twisting moonsault but Daivari breaks it up. Finish is Jimmy Wang Yang hitting a moonsault on Daivari for the win.
Edge vs. Ric Flair. Flair is taunting Edge then Edge gets control with a headlock but Falir answers by pulling Edges' hair. Edge slaps Flair's face then Flair replies with chops. Edge rolls out of the ring for a bit then comes back in the ring for more chops then tries for a Figure Four but Edge gets to the ropes. Nearfall for Flair and he keeps working on the knee. Flair tries for the Figure Four again but Edge squirms and rolls outside. Flair comes out and Edge back body drops him on the outside then they go back in the ring. Edge gets a nearfall then hits a kneedrop. Edge throws Flair into the turnbuckle, splashes him then Flair does his famous flop. Edge now going to the top rope but Flair chops him as he comes down then chops him some more. Figure Four is now locked in but MVP comes down to distract Flair which allows Edge to spear Flair. Batista tries for the save but Edge spears him too. Edge holds up the World Title on the entrance ramp as the show ends.
