Sneak Peak at upcoming Sony Animated Projects
Comingsoon.net was recently given a sneak peak at 4 upcoming Sony Animated motion pictures.
Open Season
Surf's Up
Hotel Transylvania
Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs
Glimpsing the article, I am very much curious about Hotel Transylvania. It just sounds from the title and the brief exerpt from the article that this is a film I'm going to have to see. But then again, I make an effort to see most Animated films in the theater.
I haven't seen "Monster House", "Barn Yard", or "Ant Bully" yet and probably won't catch them until they hit DVD. There is just too much stuff right now for me to have seen it all. However, I do intend to see both Open Season and Flushed Away later this year. Although, those are only 2 of the still more animated films that will soon be hitting the silver screen. Happy Feet is another and Everyone's Hero is yet another.
There has just been a lot of stuff this year when it comes to animation.
Hoodwinked
Doogal
Ice Age 2
The Wild
Over the Hedge
Cars
Monster House
Ant Bully
Barn Yard
and that's just what came out that I can name off the top of my head.
Its an interesting mix of things from your probable Oscar winner in the best animated picture Catagory (Cars) to pictures that were doomed to be compared to those that came before them (The Wild = Madagascar) (Ant Bully = Ants = A Bug's Life)
You had a sequel to a big hit that became a big hit itself (Ice Age 2) A film that probably launched its own franchise (Over the Hedge) A fun sleeper (Hoodwinked) an aweful disaster (Doogal) a movie that would've probably done better in October (Monster House) and a movie that is doing better than expected (Barn Yard)
You really run the gamit of things and the year isn't over yet and next year is just as crowded.
