The Rock may have to smell his own cooking for awhile

In People magazine, Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson and wife Dany Garcia Johnson announced they were separating.

I didn't tell you to click the cut but if you decided to do so, I've got some bonus comments.

I heard she kept waiting and waiting for him to say: "Finally, the Rock has cum".

Actually, she did hear him say: "Finally, the rock has cum with some Jabroni named Juvintud".

If they get divorced, she might find a lawyer just so she can stick the settlement straight up his candy ass...especially after shining it up real nice first then turning it sideways.

Maybe the real problem was she found out that the Rock had gone too many places already.

Perhaps she was shocked to learn that the Rock now had a preference for beef jerkey and was not interested in pie?

Maybe she was sick of hearing: "What do you think? It doesn't matter what you think!"

Whatever the reason is, I just hope she doesn't take him to the People's court.

Kicking the Condemned while its down

Some may say I take great pleasure in kicking this bomb while its down. These people are correct. this chart represents the greatest drops in theaters between week 2 and week 3. The condemned losing nearly 1800 theaters between weeks is #15 on this list. Just take a look at the company it keeps.

But, hey its all the fault of Lions Gate and that's the bottom line because Emperor McMahon said so.

Tim Allen tops Mamet's 'Redbelt'

Here's a Variety.com piece about this upcoming film.

Tim Allen will star in "Redbelt," the mixed martial arts drama David Mamet wrote and will direct for Sony Pictures Classics. Production starts next month
in L.A.

Chiwetel Ejiofor co-stars.

Emily Mortimer, Alice Braga, Joe Mantegna, Rodrigo Santoro, Ricky Jay, David Paymer, Rebecca Pidgeon and Jose Pablo Cantillo will star, along with martial
artists and fighters Randy Couture, John Machado, Danny Inosanto, Enson Inoue and Ray Mancini.

Ejiofor, who was the first actor Mamet set (Daily Variety, April 13), stars as a Jiu-jitsu master whose purity is compromised when he is drawn into the
movie business and manipulated into brawling in ultimate fighting matches.

Allen plays a troubled action star with marital problems who meets the master when he is getting pummeled in a street fight.

Ejiofor has been training in London with members of the Gracie family, the renowned Brazilian fighting clan.

For Allen, the film marks a break from his usual comic and family fare. Allen last starred in "Wild Hogs" and is negotiating to reprise his role in a sequel,
and was at the center of a Disney pitch deal for "Yosemite Three."

"Redbelt" is being fully financed and distributed by Sony Pictures Classics; Chrisann Verges is producing.

The Condemned continues its catastrophic run in theaters

It was down over 72.4 percent from last week's total, is already out of the top 10 and has yet to make $6 million.

I'd sure like to meet the man who decided this film should compete with films like Spider-man III, Shrek the Third and Pirates 3. Why not open this in like the middle of August when the big boys have all played and the court is empty?

"Stone Cold" Steve Austin Interview From Between The Ropes

Thanx, Adam Samons:

Between The Ropes
Wednesday, May 2, 2007
Central Florida's Sports Radio 740 The Team
Simulcast online at BetweenTheRopes.com

On Wednesday night, May 2, WWE legend "Stone Cold" Steve Austin joined hosts Brian Fritz, Dickerman, and Vito DeNucci live on Between The Ropes on Central Florida's Sports Radio 740 The Team to discuss his new film The Condemned, his thoughts on today's wrestling product and John Cena, his future in wrestling, and much more.

The interview began with Steve talking about the experience of filming his first movie. He said that he had a great time on the set and that there was a lot of laughing and joking. He also said that "doing the choreographed fight scenes was a little bit frustrating since you have to remember so much. In the wrestling ring you just go through it and learn after years and years.
Steve also joked that one of his co-stars "has one coming" as a result of accidentally giving Steve a black eye during a fight scene.

Regarding finding the script of the Condemned: "My agent brought the script to me and wanted me to be the part that Vinnie Jones plays in the movie. I took the script to Vince and he said 'okay, we'll do it, but, you're playing Jack Conrad.'"

Steve was then asked about living in California. He said that he had just bought a ranch in south Texas "so I'm still Texas based while I'm out here in L.A."

Steve confirmed that he has two more movies left on his movie contract and that he is looking for "another action-adventure movie. Something more solo, driven my me, and we hope to start shooting ASAP. Asked if he was sticking with just action movies Steve said "I think it makes sense to stick with them, at least initially and maybe forever. I'll just take it as it comes and stay in my comfort zone initially. I like action movies, I like watching them, and I like being involved in stuff like that. If I'm lucky enough to make 30-40 action movies I'd be a pretty lucky guy."
How does Steve see the wrestling business as it is today?

"I think right now is a good time for wrestling or sports entertainment. The last WrestleMania was the best all time as far as production goes. I think there's a big youth movement right now. I think John Cena is doing an outstanding job. I think he's kid friendly and corporate friendly. I was an edgy act and I pushed the envelope in a lot of different ways when the business was at the biggest point in its history. So, I think it's a good time for the business and they're on an up cycle."

Regarding where he sees himself in wrestling today Steve said he would probably always be a part of WWE. He also said that at this point it's time to give camera time to the younger guys who are out there working and drawing the houses. Though he did say that fans can expect to see him every so often at WrestleManias and when an angle is convenient.

Asked if he has any feelings of withdrawal when he hears a crowd reaction like he received at WrestleMania 23 Steve said "when you first come back you do have withdrawals, absolutely. But then you get used to it and get it out of your system. I just look back and have a lot of great memories in a business I absolutely loved. It was so good to me and I was good to it. But when you go out there and get a pop like I did in Detroit when you've been gone as long as I have…you just walk down to the ring thinking 'thank you very much for remembering.' It doesn't make me want to get back into the ring though. I've always appreciated my fan base and worked really hard for them and they just keep sticking by me."

Steve then talked about his creative control and backing out of some angles he felt would not be beneficial. "There's a lot of politics involved. And sometimes like with the Brock Lesnar deal you get a piece of information explaining it and it just doesn't make sense. During the time when I was white hot nobody has ever generated more income for that business than I did. So one day you show up and you hear they want you to do a job in a match on Monday Night Raw that hasn't been hyped and doesn't make sense. Believe me, big draws only come around very, very very few times. Myself and Hulk Hogan are probably the two biggest draws ever and you have to take care of cats like that."

On whether he thinks Hogan is bothered by the fact that a Hogan v. Austin match never happened: "I don't know, me and Hogan have never run in the same circles. He's done his thing and I've done mine. I've always given him credit for having a wonderful career. I don't know if it bothers him or why he seems so insistent on it…I don't think it would be a good match. I've always been a guy where, if you asked 'hey Steve, would you like more money or less money' I'd say more money. I could make a lot of money in that match, but I wouldn't be happy with what I was giving the people and therefore I don't want to give it to them"

Talk then turned back to Steve's movie career. Steve said that he got a quiet satisfaction at the end of the day when he knew he had done during filming. However, he has now seen the movie seven times with crowds while promoting it and he still gets to hear some crowd reaction as people clap and react during the movie.

Lastly, Steve said that he would be open to working with the Rock on a film, but it would have to be sometime in the future once he has progressed as an actor.

The Condemned found guilty of being a bomb

$4 million for #9 at the box office

Some very foolish people in the land of the World Wide Web thought this movie could be #1. These people are idiots, it never had a chance to be #1 and had you asked me before it opened I would've told you that much.

This is going to fade fast with Spider-Man 3 opening next week and that's the start of a big time summer race.

Not sure what the budget was for this one, so I don't know what it will have to do to break even. Rule of thumb is that you must at least double your production budget to break even, more depending on advertising.

Its only hope I'm guessing is strong sales on DVD and such.

I've got 3 words for future WWE films...straight to video.

It gets worse, a breakdown of all 3 films.

The Marine
Theater Count Opening Weekend: 2,545 Theaters
Opening Weekend Box Office: $7,138,744

See No Evil
Theater Count Opening Weekend: 1,257 Theaters
Opening Weekend Box Office: $4.3 million

The Condemned
Theater Count Opening Weekend: 2,310 Theaters
Opening Weekend Box Office: $4,000,000 (Estimated)

Imperia Entertainment Hires Veteran Cinematographer Irek Hartowicz For Feature Film, 'Never Submit'

BEVERLY HILLS, Calif., Feb. 14 -- Imperia Entertainment, Inc. (Pink Sheets: IPEI) President James Hergott announced today that Cinematographer Irek Hartowicz
has been hired for the MMA movie "Never Submit." Irek Hartowicz is a seasoned cinematographer with over 26 years experience and over 30 films to his credit,
wherein he has worked with such Hollywood stars as Billy Bob Thornton, Patricia Arquette, Alyssa Milano and Dennis Hopper, just to name a few. "I feel
strongly that Irek is a film maker who shares my vision of how to portray this story," said James Hergott, Director. "This is not an ordinary fight film,
just as MMA is not an ordinary sport. Irek's experience in Hollywood and his artful style will give this film the unique look it deserves," he added.

ABOUT "NEVER SUBMIT"

"Never Submit" is a movie set in the world of MMA. The performances will be a mix of nationally recognized actors and fighters. "Never Submit" has retained
veteran casting director Rosemary Welden who has cast over 55 films. Imperia will soon be casting nationally recognized top actors in the movie. Hergott's
first feature film "All That I Need" did not have a well known cast but went on and received a standing ovation at the Cannes Film Market and was theatrically
released in Regal, United Artist and Edwards theatres throughout the US. "Never Submit" will have a much bigger budget and more prominent cast. It was
recently announced that both Ken Shamrock, Cung Le, and Josh Koscheck have been cast in key roles in the movie.

"Never Submit" is an inspirational tale similar to "Rocky," but the lead character is an intelligent young man (as are most fighters competing in this sport)
rather than a beaten-down punch-drunk fighter. An amazing cast of characters will round out this film; each from different walks of life; each with his
own set of circumstances and motivating factors driving him to be the best. "Never Submit" is a metaphor describing the way these athletes live their lives.

Imperia Entertainment recently announced a partnership with TapouT Magazine (www.tapoutmagazine.com) as part of a cross-country tour to promote the publication
as well as the movie. Stops at select dojos to hold auditions for "Never Submit" are being finalized. TapouT Magazine readers can expect to see the mixed
martial arts movie prominently featured in the bi-monthly publication throughout the casting, filming and theatrical release stages, as well as enjoy behind
the scenes details from "Never Submit" director James Hergott, one of TapouT Magazine's newest contributors.

"Never Submit" is featured on myMMAspace.com. myMMAspace.com is the fastest growing mixed martial arts (MMA) destination site on the Internet. The site
features traditional social networking features and tools like Myspace, but also provides specialized tools for MMA fighters, brands, promoters, and fans
to communicate and interact in an MMA focused environment. The company's weekly internet radio show, Cage Side Live!, will feature interactive and entertaining
interviews with MMA's top fighters, promoters, and personalities.

ABOUT IMPERIA ENTERTAINMENT

Imperia Entertainment, Inc. (www.imperiaentertainment.com) is a company that has emerged as a player in the area of independent film production and distribution,
once monopolized by the major film studios. In conjunction with its distribution subsidiary, Imperia International Distribution, the company engages in
investing in and producing and distributing full-length feature films. Along with its equity interest in "All That I Need" (www.allthatineed.net), released
in theaters last year, and now being marketed for DVD distribution, Imperia's film properties include its feature film, "Say It In Russian" (www.sayitinrussianmovie.com),
starring Faye Dunaway and Agata Gotova, "Brothers," by Tarquin Gotch ("Home Alone"), "Whiskers," a family film, and "An Ordinary Hero," a festival art
film, being produced by Imperia's subsidiary, Muller Media, Inc. (Pink Sheets: MUME), and the award-winning "Autograph" television series (www.autograph.tv),
which airs on the OlympuSAT system.

White rappers compete on reality show

http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20070104/ap_en_mu/tv_white_rapper_show

NEW YORK - Their very names strike fear in the hearts of white rappers everywhere: Vanilla Ice. Snow. Kevin Federline.

Though there are notable success stories — Eminem and the Beastie Boys, most obviously — pale emcees often travel a hard road to respect. "The White Rapper Show," a new reality program debuting Monday (10:30 p.m. EST on VH1), is both a parody and commentary on race in hip-hop.

The setup is simple and instantly amusing: Ten white amateurs are picked to live in an apartment in New York's South Bronx (the birthplace of hip-hop), where they must prove their rhyming skills and gain respect. The winner gets $100,000.

"White Rapper" is produced by the "ego trip" collective, which started as a magazine co-founded by Sacha Jenkins and Elliot Wilson. The magazine is now defunct, but ego trip has grown into a media company that produces books and provocative television shows ("Race-O-Rama!") often dealing with race and hip-hop.

"The power of the show is that when you hear the title, you already have images of what it's going to be, whether good or bad," says Wilson. "Most of them are thinking, `Oh, it's going to be some dumb nonsense.' But it's not that — it's smart."

The host is Michael "MC Serch" Berrin, known for the early '90s hit "The Gas Face" with the group 3rd Bass, who schools the 20-something contestants on the history of hip-hop and the art of the rhyme.

"This generation can't answer basic hip-hop trivia," says Berrin, 39. "Early on, there was a history that you had to know. I had to know who the Funky 4+1 was, who Sha Rock was. I had to know this because when I was coming up, guys would test me."

Like rock, blues and jazz, hip-hop began as a distinctly African-American expression. Unlike other genres, though, rap has remained a predominantly black art form.

The guys of ego trip (none of whom are white) are well aware that rap is now mainstream popular music, and that its record-buying audience is mostly white. They joke that the show presents a vision of the future.

"There are more white kids who are captivated by the music and the culture than ever," says ego tripper Jefferson "Chairman" Mao. "I think it's a terrific thing because music should be shared. It's for everybody — you just don't want the origins of it to be lost."

Of course, white rappers have forever been easy targets, and the show is not lacking in Vanilla Ice-style punch lines.

A female rapper from upstate New York claims during her audition, "Cows are great to rap about. It's that whole black and white thing." Another auditioning rapper speaking about her hometown of Waterford, Conn., prompts Serch to exclaim, "I didn't know it was that hard in Connecticut."

Hailing from Davis, Calif., 26-year-old John Brown immediately rubs many contestants the wrong way. In his audition, he asks, "What's really hood, man? Suburbia." Once picked as a contestant, Brown proves himself well enough as a rapper. But he infuriates castmates by repeatedly referring to a "Ghetto Revival," a personal social movement scant on details other than Brown's claim that it's a "lifestyle brand" that will support "the revival of ghettoes and all types of different struggles throughout the world."

Brown's nemesis emerges as Persia, a confrontational 25-year-old woman from Far Rockaway, Queens who describes herself as the show's "hood connection."

"You'll see on the show why a lot of white rappers are made fun of," she said in an interview. "Some of them are just lost. There's very few that can make it, very few that are real. ... I think if you concentrate on the fact that you're white, then so will the world."

"It's very funny how true to form they were," says Serch. "The one thing white rappers can't stand is other white rappers."

In the first episode, Persia repeatedly uses the N-word, to the dismay of several castmates but the glee of producers in the control room. Soon Berrin informs the cast, "That word don't play here, regardless" — and bestows a giant silver chain with an enormous "N-word" medallion upon Persia, who must wear it for 24 hours.

Persia tearfully promises to change her ways, although she backtracked in her AP interview. "The pain in the back of my neck kind of caused me to have a nervous breakdown," she claimed. "Afterward, I came to realize I'm from New York — it's kind of different for us. It's how I speak with my friends; it's how I'm always going to speak with my friends."

Mao insists the show isn't just trying to "shoot fish in a barrel."

"We don't have disdain for our cast," he says. "We're trying to show that there is some complexity to them."

Executive producer Ken Mok, who has helmed reality contest shows like "America's Next Top Model" and "Making the Band," says "White Rapper" is "really about race and the context of white culture verses hip-hop culture."

"Why leave it to the scholars?" says Mao. "We feel we're hip-hop scholars." A cackling Wilson quickly rhymes, "And we want to make dollars!"
