NFL Picks Week 2
A wise man once said that when you fall off of a horse, you have to get back on. This man's spine would be crushed after a fall off of a horse later in his life, but that never would've happened if he hadn't made such a statement. I'm not sure if that's true or not, funny or not, but its a good way to segway into my picks for week 2 in the NFL
Last week 7/9
Overall: 7/9
Sunday: September 17, 2006 (Early games)
Carolina 0/1 at Minnesota 1/0, winner: Carolina
OCC: Beating Washington on the road was nice, but it doesn't get any easier for the Vikings as Carolina comes to town.
Detroit 0/1 at Chicago 1/0, winner: Chicago
OCC: I might have picked the Lions until Roy Williams guaranteed victory. All it guaranteed is that the Bears would remember they had a game this week.
Houston 0/1 at Indianapolis 1/0, winner: Indianapolis
OCC: It goes from bad to worse for the Texans this week...
New Orleans 1/0 at Green Bay 0/1, winner: New Orleans
OCC: Could New Orleans head in to an emotional home opener with a 2/0 record? You bet they will.
New York Giants 0/1 at Philadelphia 1/0, winner: New York Giants
OCC: This is a big test for the Eagles as the Giants are much better than Houston, but its also a game I think the Giants can't afford to lose.
Oakland 0/1 at Baltimore 1/0, winner: Baltimore
OCC: Could sunday be worse than Monday Night? It could very well be and I'll be here melting down with more live blogging.
Tampa Bay 0/1 at Atlanta 1/0, winner: Atlanta
OCC: Here's how it works, Tampa Bay is owned by Carolina, Carolina is owned by Atlanta and Atlanta is owned by Tampa Bay. So of course, I pick the Falcons.
Cleveland 0/1 at Cincinnati 1/0, winner: Cincinnati
OCC: The first round of the battle of Ohio should go to the team that's, well, good.
Buffalo 0/1 at Miami 0/1, winner: Miami
OCC: Its a big division team and neither team can afford to go 0/2, but one of them will, and I bet its the road team. Although the Bills always seem to give Miami fits.
Sunday: September 17, 2006 (Late Games)Arizona 1/0 at
Seattle - 1/0, winner: Seattle
OCC: It troubles me that Seattle barely beat Detroit, but it doesn't trouble me enough to pick Arizona on the road in the loudest stadium in football.
St. Louis 1/0 at San Francisco 0/1, winner: St. Louis
OCC: St. Louis is a sleeper for Bill Simmons and with games against teams like the 49ers its not hard to see why.
Tennessee 0/1 at San Diego 1/0, winner: San Diego
OCC: San Diego continues its tour of the dregs of the league with the Tennessee Titans.
Kansas City 0/1 at Denver 0/1, winner: Denver
OCC: Well, at least the Raiders won't be the the only 0/2 team in the division.
New England 1/0 at New York Jets 0/1, winner: New England
OCC: A battle for first place in the AFC east in the early season, its the new coach of the Jets Vs. his former boss.
Sunday: September 17, 2006 (Sunday night game)
Washington 0/1 at Dallas 0/1, winner: Dallas
OCC: Neither team can afford to lose this game either and yet, one of them is going to and I think I'll take the Cowboys.
Monday: September 18, 2006
Pittsburgh 1/0 at Jacksonville 1/0, winner: Pittsburgh
OCC: Jacksonville may be better than I thought they'd be and a good way to prove me wrong would to beat Pittsburgh at home..
