OCC Site Update: Live Blogging, a Milestone & Podcasting
Ok, so this is my plan for live blogging and reviewing stuff.
Its kind of a hint or a discussion of future things to come to the corner.
I've been thinking about this for awhile now and I've decided that I don't want to do straight reviews or recaps of stuff I watch.
The reason I don't want to do that style is because you can find that kind of writing all over the place. I feel like if I want to standout, and I do, I have to try an approach that is a little more me, and a little less common.
Wade will do straight reviews and recaps for stuff, probably in the style of his review of Dune
So I will probably review things in the style of my recap of Thursday Night's iMPACT.
I'm not going to have a schedule where I watch and live blog on the same show every week. I don't always watch Raw, I hardly ever watch ECW, I miss TUF & iMPACT periodically, and never watch Smackdown.
If I watch Raw, I'll live blog it, but if The Raiders is on oposite Raw then there's no way Raw competes.
I'll live blog DVDs, other TV shows, movies, whatever.
I say Live Blog because my thoughts will be written down as they run through my head. There will be plenty of jokes, and every now and again I might actually comment on whatever it is that I'm watching. I hope that at the end of each one you will at least be able to tell whether or not I enjoyed whatever it was that I live blogged.
So when I live blog the TNA Knockouts DVD, if you're looking for a blow-by-blow recap of everything that happens on the DVD or if you're wanting comments on audio/visual quality this won't be for you. But, if you've enjoyed the OCC humore in the past and wouldn't mind a glimpse into what goes through my mind when I'm watching something like that TNA DVD, then you might enjoy this.
Now, the only thing left to do is come up with a name for these writings. I think that since Ric is responsible for the Old Country Corner name then perhaps he might be able to suggest something. Anyone else with a thought can post it in the comments.
One more thing for now. This is post #304 on the blog and post #300 for me in particular.
On another note, I am looking to buy a Mic for the purposes of podcasting. I'm hoping to buy something within a couple of weeks and see if maybe Wade and I can't put together a test run.
The more ads you click, the sooner I can get a microphone, otherwise I wait for payday and use my meager paycheck on one.
