TNA iMPACT 5/10/07 Live Coverage
Hello and welcome to this week's addition of iMPACT. I am also not your usual host but I will endeavor to fill in. Here's hoping this won't be as boring as ECW.
TNA. We like to think we are wrestling.
Recap of what happened last week. I actually don't mind seeing a recap video for a show I didn't watch.
Our opening bout for tonight Homicide vs. D-Von vs. Scott Steiner. This match already sounds good based on who is in it. The only person missing at ringside is Tomko. Steiner and Homicide try to blind side D-Von but he gets the early advantage but doesn't hold it long as Homicide and Steiner double team him. D-Von tied to the tree of woe and they lay into him. Homicide hits Steiner from behind gets a tilt-a-whirl slam then a belly to belly suplex for 2. This has allowed D-Von to come back, clothesline Steiner outside then get a nearfall on Homicide. Steiner and Bubba are fighting outside which distracts the ref allows Hernandez to Border toss D-Von and Homicide to get the win. Steiner goes nuts and throws chairs into the ring. Am I watching TNA or ECW? As good a match as I thought it would be.
JB is backstage trying to interview Hemme but Steiner comes in first and asks where his tag partner was. Hemme says the first 2 teams weren't hers then VKM come in. They make a boobs joke which was deserved considering the top she was wearing.
Commercial break.
Christy has come down to the ring followed by VKM. Hemme's new team ambushes VKM and blasts them with wicked chair shots. Christy them introduces her team of Danny Basham and Damaja. Nice to see VKM laid out for once.
Video of Jeff Jarret. This was an awesome video package ending with Cornette announcing Jarrett vs. Roode.
Commercial break.
JB backstage telling us that VKM can't compete (duh!) Backlund comes in and goes nuts about some book being stolen then Lethal and Nash come in. Lethal's Savage impression kills me! Dutt comes in and complains about not having any interview time.
Sabin and Shelley are now taking on Black Machismo and Sonjay Dutt. Nice combination of double team moves from Sabin and Shelley. Sabin and Shelley are working perfectly as they comtinue to take it to Lethal. Lethal gets the hot tag and Dutt goes flying in literally. Awesome 2nd rope moonsault gets Dutt 2. Lethal was going for the big elbow but Dutt stops him which allows Sabin and Shelley to get the win. Backlund comes down, sends Shelley and Sabin back in and gives them what for then chases them off. Dutt just walks off with Lethal looking confused. This was another enjoyable match.
Commercial break.
We have a triple screen interview with Cage, Sting and Angle. Sting and Angle argue about who got the shot and Cage is hilarious egging them on.
Rhino, Joe and Harris w/Gail Kim come out for their match as we go to commercial. Storm w/Jaquie, Styles and Daniels are now out to begin the main event. Joe and Storm start out with Joe kicking him for a bit then Styles and Harris are in. Harris no longer impersonating a pirate, hits a delayed suplex on Styles then Joe comes in, hits a move on him then tags Rhino who goes to town on him. Styles distracts the ref which allows Daniels to give Rhino a cheap which sends him out so Daniels and Storm can attack him as we go to commercial. Daniels now in the ring with Rhino. He gets a nearfall then tags in Styles and they double team him. It's all broken down and we end up with Storm and Harris in the ring. Jacquie throws the ber bottle in but Harris catches it. The ref tells him not to do it which allows STorm to roll him up with a handful of tights to win. STorm and Harris fight in the crowd as Sting and Angle fight out to the ring. Cage stands at the top of the entrance match watching as we go to a Sacrifice video to end the show.
This was a great show! Everything flowed perfectly and I was surprised how fast it went. That, to me, is the mark of a great show.
