Patriots sign LB Junior Seau

Yeah, we here at the Old Country Corner are big football fans with the Oakland Raiders being the Old Country Corner's official football team.

But, from time to time we'll comment on teams that are not our own.

Seau to the Patriots does have an Oakland connection in that earlier in the offseason he was reportedly talking to the Raiders about joining the team.

Seau retired on Monday but has already changed his mind and unretired. Its a good thing his ceremonial contract with the Chargers was only for a day.

I've heard of wrestlers and wrestling companies not honnoring stipulations and retirements in boxing and wrestling are both big jokes, but this is one of the shorter retirements that I can remember.

But, even though he spent several seasons playing for the hated Chargers, we at the corner wish Seau well in New England, right up until he has to play the Raiders, which is not on the schedule for this year so may not even happen at all unless God strikes about 10 AFC teams dead and Oakland makes the playoffs.
