NWA-TNA Against All Odds 2007 Live Coverage

Hello all and welcome to this month's live coverage of NWA-TNA Against All Odds. As usual, I will not do coverage of the pre-show as other people do that. Stay tuned to the Times for coverage of the actual PPV.



Team 3D come out at the end of the pre-show and tell LAX to come out right away. Konnan distracts Team 3D so LAX can ambush them to start. Hernandez tries for a high risk move but D-Von smacks him in the head with a chair. Bubba gives Homicide a Fallaway slam on the ramp. LAX got more plunder! Excellent double team move by LAX gets 2. Homicide has a pizza cutter runs it across D-Von's head. Ray has a cheese grater and runs it over Homicide's head. 3 dudes just came in and Team 3D take them back out. GET THE TABLES?! D-Von does a cross body block onto the 3 dudes that came in earlier which allows LAX to do more double teaming for 2. A bloody D-Von gets a nearfall. The 3 dudes hold onto D-Von's legs which allows Hernandez to hit the Border Toss for the win.

Backstage with JB interviewing Austin Starr. He talks about his match with Senshi then Backlund shows up and and uses big words again. Senshi has the advantage and gets a nearfall. Starr turns it around with a suicide dive and a series of elbows gets 2. Starr with another nearfall. Starr really owning Senshi now with a nice chop. Misses the pendulum elbow but gets a powerbomb pin for 2. Starr now taunting him and Senshi answers back with a clothesline and a series of kicks. Senshi chopping the crap out of Starr now for a nearfall. Senshi blocks a suplex and Starr answers with a crossface Chicken wing but Senshi gets out of it and tries for a doublestomp but Starr gets the chicken wing on again. Senshi bridges back and gets his shoulder up at the last second for the win. Starr now throwing chairs into the ring. He's demanding a restart to the match. Backlund now comes down to the ring and goes ape on Starr. Starr slaps Backlund who puts the his own chicken wing on and takes Starr out of the ring.

Backstage with Christian, Tomko and Steiner. There's some dissention in the ranks but Cage tries to be a peacemaker.

We're now onto Christy Hemme's match. Her opponent for tonight is...drumroll please...BIG FAT OILY GUY?!?!?! Christy took off all of his clothes which is always a horrible sight. Kip James has now come out and rips her shirt off.

Backstage with a viewing party for the latest video from Paparazzi Productions. We only get the first part of the video as they go to a video for Basebrawl 2. Hoyt takes early control. AJ low blows Hoyt then throws him into the security rail. Marcus was wondering about how many times Undertaker has won the WWE title so I went to check that out. That shows you how interested I am in this match. AJ hits Hoyt with a chair which allows Toreborg to get a pin. Eckstein convinces the ref to turn it around and Ecstein hits Toreborg in the back which allows Hoyt to get the official win.

Backstage again with another part of the video. Shelley is hiding in a closet as Eric gives her some half eaten chocolates and plastic flowers as this part ends.

We are now onto Rhino vs. Styles. Styles is reluctant at first but eventually gets hooked to the chain. Styles tries to get himself unchained but Rhino goes after him. Rhino overpowers Styles and rams him into the steel post. Belly to Belly suplex. Styles counters the Gore and wraps the chain around his fist. AJ tries to grab the key but Rhino pulls him down. Nearfall by AJ. Rhino gains control and gets a nearfall. Rhino goes up another pole and gets the nightstick. Styles turns it around and uses the nightstick. Styles hits an excellent frog splash then unlocks himself and fakes leaving. AJ is now taunting him the key, hits a payley but Rhino answers with a Gore. Hebner kicks the key to Rhino. Rhino tries for a Gore through a table but Styles moves out of the way and gets the win.

We are now onto part 3 of the video. Traci is now teasing Eric and tells him to close his eyes. She gets him to sign for Robert Roode, Inc. Backlund breaks it up and goes ape again.

We're now up to the X-Division title match. Lynn tries for the cradle piledriver early on but Sabin bails out. Lynn tries to get out of a headlock but Sabin takes the low road. Sabin tries for a high risk move but Lynn moves out of the way. Sabin back in control and gets a nearfall. Nice dropkick in the corner gets Sabin 2. Sabin in complete control. Lynn with an excellent set of dropkicks, back body drop and punches in the corner. Lynn with a nearfall. Series of nearfalls by both men. Sabin rolled up Lynn and uses the ropes for the win.

Roode and Brooks come out to the ring. He introduces Eric Young as the new member and he jumps at the pyro again (which is classic). Roode goes on about how Eric and the fans are worthless. Eric grabs the mic from Roode but doesn't say anything.

Now onto the mixed tag team match. Storm and Petey start it out but they tag in the women after a while. Petey tagged back in and chops Storm on the outside. Storm takes control inside with a nice clothesline. Nearfall by Storm. Eye of the Storm and a tag to Jacquie who gets a nearfall. Petey now rams Storm's head into the ringpost. Gail tags in and hits an awesome top rope dropkick but the pin is broken up by Storm. Ref is distracted which allows Storm to hit Gail and gets Jacquie the win. Storm tries to hit Petey with beer bottle by Petey turns it around then Jacquie stops him and they take out the ref then try to give the Death Sentence to Petey but Chris Harris comes in with an eye patch and runs them out.

Prison Yard match up next.

Sting takes it to Abyss to start. Abyss throws Sting into a dumpster. Sting splashes Abyss through a table from the top of the dumpster. Now to the outside of the ring where Sting finds a babrwire baseball bat and hammers Abyss with it. Tries to get Abyss in the cage but Abyss hits him. Sting goes outside, takes Mitchell's belt and whips him with it. Abyss sends a table into the ring and tries to get Sting into the cage but Sting fights him off. Abyss smacks Sting with one of the police lights from the turnbuckle. Sting fights off staying in the cage. Abyss now brings out a barb wire table. Blackhole Slam and Abyss takes the mask off Sting and tries to put Sting in the cage again but he fights out again and gets a Deathdrop. Mitchell tries to come in but Sting catches him and puts him in the Deathlock. Abyss tries to climb up the cage but Sting catches him, hits him with the barbwire bat, powerbombs him into the barbwire table that was put on the other table then throws him in the cage and locks it. Sting is now choking Mitchell but securitybreaks it up.

Main event next.

Angle and Cage go at it for a while and Joe comes out. Angle tries for the Ankle lock early but Cage gets to the ropes. Angle rams Cage's back into the turnbuckle. Nearfall for Angle. Cage with a neckbreaker to Angle on the outside. Cage now taunting Angle. Exchange of blows with Angle coming out on top and gets 2. Attempt for the Angle Slam, then attempt at Unprettier then an Ankle lock but Cage gets to the ropes then low blows him and gets the Unprettier for 2. Cage now impersonating Steiner. Angle catapults Cage into the turnbuckle then a belly to belly suplex from the top. Angle hits 7 German Suplexes and gets a nearfall. Styles comes in to distract Angle but Joe chases him out whihc allows Christian to hit Angle with a chair and Frog Splash for a close nearfall. Cage with another Unprettier for 2. Joe distracts the ref while Angle goes for the Ankle lock. Ref bump and Angle gets 2 after an Angle slam. Another ref bump and Tomko comes out, takes out Joe and gets german suplexed. Steiner comes out with a lead pipe but gets taken out. Joe does an awesome suicicde dive to take out Steiner and Tomko. Cage tries for the Angle Slam but Angle gets the Ankle lock. Cage taps out but no ref so Cage grabs the pipe and hits him. Cage with a 3rd Unprettier for the win.
