Smackdown Review - Air Date 3/9/07
Show started with a video showing the Batista/Undertaker rivalry and showed footage of Undertaker's video appearance on last week.
King Booker vs Matt Hardy
Two of the eight participants in the Money in The Bank match in action and why...to show how fucking terrible you can make an opener. This was very sloppy from both guys with the worst example coming from King Booker who after being hit with a hard clothesline, decided he was too good(HA HAHAHAHA!) to sell and just fell over. Finish came after Booker reversed a Twist of Fate attempt and put Hardy on the ropes, Sharmell hit Hardy with one of her heels and Booker hit the scissors kick for the pin. Woo--FUCKING-hoo!
Kristal attempted to interview Batista which basically was a backdrop to show the Undertaker's 14 wins at Wrestlemania and all the most useless person on Smackdown could say was he was going to leave Wrestlemania 23 the champion and the one to end the streak.
Next a recap of the announcement of the special guest referee for the Trump vs. Vince match was shown which is more proof that Smackdown is the B brand as we got at least three more videos hyping up this match throughout the rest of the show.
MVP stormed into Long's office and he wanted to talk business with the GM. No, he did not ask to be shot but instead demanded a US Championship match against Chris Benoit at Wrestlemania. Long said he would take it into consideration, just let him have the match so i can laugh as Benoit HUMBLES him.
Batista vs. Kane...Batista vs. Kane...Batista vs. Kane...Batista vs. Kane............THIS WAS THE WORST MATCH SO FAR IN 2007! BATISTA IS THE MOST FUCKING USELESS WASTE OF SPACE ON THIS GOD FORSAKEN EARTH. HIS IDEA OF SELLING A BACK INJURY IS TO LOOK LIKE HE IS CONSTIPATED AND MAKE HIS EYEBALLS NEARLY COME OUT OF HIS HEAD. THIS MATCH COULD NOT BE ANYMORE HEATLESS IF THEY HAD IT IN THE FUCKING ANTARCTIC! BOTH MEN MOVED LIKE TWO CRIPPLED ANTS WITH SOME VERY HEAVY SHOPPING. *exhales* Finish came about after Kane mounted the turnbuckle wth Batista already there, Batista turned this into a Batista Bomb for the pin.
Miz TV with "Special Guest"Ashley. Melina appeared, they bitched, Ashley challenged Melina for a match at Wrestlemania for the Women's Championship, they got in a brawl, it ended.
Someone tried to get Kane's reaction to losing to Batista when none other than The Great Khali appeared and HUMBLED Kane both verbally and physically through the use of his mighty head. Khali hit Kane so hard with headbutts that after two, he was busted open and Khali celebrated of course in Khaliese so he could of been saying anything.
Mr. Kennedy vs. CM Punk.
Two more of the eight participants in the Money in The Bank match in action. This was a better match than the Booker/Hardy encounter earlier in the show. Both men worked hard and at one point Kennedy lured Punk outside, hit a hard clothesline that floored Punk and made his head bounce off the mats to boot. That must've sucked. Finish came after Punk was crotched on the second rope and Kennedy hit a neckbreaker variation to get the pin.
Kristal attempted to interview Finlay, he claimed not to be scared of the Undertaker and he had this to say about the Undertaker wanting to take him to hell "I'm Irish, i've already been there."
Undertaker vs. Finlay
HUGE pop for the Undertaker. Finlay got the initial attack but was quickly stopped by Taker as he was thrown into corner and got pummelled. Finlay midway through the match took a HARD boot to the face which must've hurt. Hornswoggle made an appearance to distract Undertaker which allowed Finlay to hit him with a chair to the ribs which he worked over the remainder of the match. They both went back and forth and when Taker was setting up for the chokeslam, Hornswoggle re-appeared to hit him with a shillelagh...this failed as his prize was a boot to the face from the Undertaker. However the shillelagh shot didn't do much but this allowed Finlay to low blow Taker and attempt a pin which was kicked out of. But Finlay was thrown onto the referee which KO'd him which allowed Finlay to get a couple of shillelagh shots to the ribs and skull of the Undertaker. After a failed attempt to use Hornswoggle as a weapon earned him a boot to the face which in turn caused Finlay to samoan drop Hornswoggle, Undertaker hit the chokeslam followed by the tombstone for the pin.
Batista came out after the match was over and did the thumbs up/down thing he does so he was also reviewing his match with Kane earlier in the evening.
The main event was enjoyable but this was not enough to save this fucking horrible episode of Friday night Shitdown.
