Strange Randy Moss Interview
The Raiders blog has a transcript of a Randy Moss interview from Friday on Fox Sports Radio.
I'm not going to reproduce the transcript but I do have some comments.
Its obvious from the comments that Randy Moss isn't happy with the way certain things were done. He's obviously not a fan of the trade of Doug Gabriel to New England (I'm not real happy either but am willing to reserve judgment.
People are making a big deal of the timing of this interview. Why complain before the season starts? I personally don't care if Moss bashes the team as long as he plays hard in every game. I think the players have every right to criticize the organization that they play for as long as it doesn't affect their own play and as long as they are not calling out specific teammates and tossing them under the bus. That's when those comments become destructive.
I also think and PFT says the same thing, that Art Shell isn't going to put up with this. If it gets out of control, well it won't get out of control because Shell won't put up with it. See Jerry Porter for proof.
Art Shell's coaching has been in question the last couple of days, and his in-game may need some work but he is better for the Raiders than Bill Calahan and Norv Turner because he believes in discipline and has the authority to impose it.
Aside from that, the Moss situation bares watching. If the team starts to win, this all is forgotten. If the team starts to lose than things could get much, much worse.
