NFL 9/10 Early Game - Finals Roundup
Finals are starting to trickle in from the early games.
Buffalo - 17
at
New England - 19
I picked: New England (correct)
A tale of 2 halfs as the Bills are shut-out in the second half, and New England does it on defense with the 2 point margin coming via safety.
Baltimore - 27
at
Tampa Bay - 0
I picked: Tampa Bay (Incorrect)
A dominating defensive performance for the Ravens as any time you get a shut-out in the NFL that's something to take notice of.
Philadelphia - 24
at
Houston - 10
I picked: Philadelphia (correct)
The Eagles looked good on offense, but they were playing Houston so that's not a real test.
Seattle - 9
at
Detroit - 6
I picked: Seattle (correct)
A last second Josh Brown field goal is the difference. The Lions could be a scrappy team, or Seattle could've missed some golden opportunities.
Cincinnati - 23
at
Kansas City - 10
I picked: Cincinnati (correct)
Larry Johnson was expected to have a big day against the Bengals defense, and he did not. Justin Smith had 3 sacks for Cincinnati in the win and Rudy Johnson had 96 yards rushing.
Atlanta - 20
at
Carolina - 6
I picked: Carolina (Incorrect)
Steve Smith being out of the game didn't help Carolina and another big game was had against the Panthers by Michael Vick.
New Orleans - 19
at
Cleveland - 14
I picked: Cleveland (incorrect)
This game picked up in the second half as the Saints hold off the hard-charging Browns to take the victory.
Denver - 10
at
St. Louis - 18
I picked: Denver (incorrect)
It was a busy day for Jeff Wilkins who kicked 6 field goals to account for all of the St. Louis scoring.
New York Jets - 23
at
Tennessee - 16
I picked: Tennessee (incorrect)
This turned in to quite the game as Tennessee did all its scoring in the forth quarter. They had a chance to tie the game late, but the Jets hold on.
Record this week as of the conclusion of the early games: 4/6.
*If Oakland can beat San Diego then they'll be in first place in the AFC West, and how great would that be?
Road teams did pretty well today.
New York Jets, Philadelphia, Cincinnati, Seattle, New Orleans, Baltimore and Atlanta all win on the road. That gives the road team a 7/3 advantage so far this season.
Check back in at halftime of the late games for my thoughts.
