ANARCHY: (n.) \an-ar-key\ (1) A state of lawlessness due to absence of authority. (2) A complete lack of order.

What happens when you mix the two together? NWA-Anarchy!



- On last week’s edition of NWA Anarchy TV, Abomination saved Jeff G Bailey’s hapless carcass from being murdered by the Rejects.



- Greg Hunter reflects upon Jeremy Vain upsetting Chad Parham to capture the TV Title. This week, we have a tag team mega rumble to declare the new #1 contender to NWA Anarchy Tag Team Champions the Awesome Attraction.



- Chad Parham is like Simon Diamond, he has a problem. His problem is that pesky little Ace Rockwell. Rockwell has cost Chad opportunities, money, and self-esteem. Chad personally knows Rockwell is not attendance and commands him to head out. Instead, NWA Representative Bill Behrens heads out to confront Rockwell. He infuriates Parham by telling him Rockwell is not in the building. Behrens asks Parham to stop embarrassing himself and to leave the building. Parham takes personal exception and clubs Behrens despite one young female letting out a blood curdling scream. Parham sets up for the piledriver, but Patrick Bentley seizes the moment by making the save. Parham sets up for the piledriver, but Bentley makes the save.



1. Chad Parham vs. Patrick Bentley

THE MATCH: It certainly appears Bentley has taken up Slim J on his offer by challenging the Alpha Male himself, “the Excellence of Arrogance” Chad Parham. Bentley delights the female species by dominating Parham early on, including a press slam. Parham retreats to the arena floor and drops Bentley hip first on the ring apron. I’m sure Bentley was singing, “Oh my achy breaky hip” after that bump. Parham toys around with Bentley and flexes his muscles for the next several minutes. Parham sets up in the corner, but Bentley catches him with an offensive flurry including a clothesline. Bentley pays the price by missing a senton. Parham lands one of his own for a two count. Bentley escapes a piledriver and hits Full Articulation, but Parham grabs the bottom rope to break the referee’s count. Parham demonstrates his ability at birth control and uses a handful of tights to gain the victory.

WINNER: Chad Parham.

COMMENTS: Stepping into the ring with Bentley should help Bentley’s character. Parham is awesome as a heel and doing what it takes to just get by, especially when he looks lazy in the ring. Now, if only had Behrens taken that piledriver, everyone’s day would have been made. Just kidding.

RATING: **



2. NWA Anarchy TV Title: Jeremy Vain (ch.) vs. Billy Buck

PREMATCH: The four time NWA Anarchy TV Champion Jeremy Vain proclaims himself the best and has the right to pick the number one contender.

THE MATCH: Vain demonstrates why he is the more experienced wrestler with a Greco Roman mule kick. Johnson commends Vain for giving alms to the underprivileged such as Buck. I’m sure Wild Billy would appreciate his sentiments. After commercial, Vain easily wins with the VKO followed by the VDT ‘06.

POSTMATCH: Mr. Vain wants everyone to understand that there is a 10 minute time limit and that nobody can within that time limit. This prompts Todd Sexton to stroll out from the locker room and guarantees he can make Vain tap out in one minute. Vain says fine, if you can make me tap in one minute, you get the title shot. Sexton launches an attack and slaps on the Sexton Stretch. Vain taps in record time and retreats back to the locker room like the yellow bellied coward he is. Sexton disrespects Vain with several taunts. I’m sure Taz would be proud of Sexton for not only making a claim, but living up to it.

WINNER: Vain retains.

COMMENTS: This was a good match that got Vain over and his finishing. The postmatch was slightly reminiscent of Taz bragging to Shane Douglas he could make him tap out in three minutes. If you remember, Taz snatches up Shane’s title. The postmatch was fine, but I’d like to see where they go from here before commenting.

RATING: *



- Mr. Representation Al Getz is disgusted that a mega rumble is being held to determine a number one contender. Instead of participating, Getz reminds when he demands a title shot, Justice Served will receive it.



3. MEGA RUMBLE

STIPULATION: Winner receives title shot at Awesome Attraction.

THE MATCH: (1) Derek Driver & Steven Walters and (2) (Sex & Money) Andrew Pendleton III & Caleb Conley start the match out. Nice axe-kick by Conley. Teams enter at two minute intervals. (3) Anger Inc. (Don Matthews & Adam Roberts). Pendleton offers a handshake, but Matthews displays his Anger Inc. by tossing him. SEX & MONEY ELIMINATED. (4) Brandon Phoenix & Brody Ray Chase. Roberts easily disposes of Walters. DRIVER & WALTER ELIMINATED. (5) Urban Assault Squad (Nemesis & Shadow Jackson). Matthews charges in to save his partner, but he finds himself flying over the top rope to the floor. ANGER INC ELIMINATED. UAS tosses Phoenix to the floor for good measure. PHOENIX & CHASE ELIMINATED. (6) Seth Delay & Adrian Hawkins. Al Getz heads out to ringside as UAS dominates their much smaller opponents. Getz pulls down the top rope to eliminate Jackson. UAS ELIMINATED. Jackson confronts Getz at the entrance ramp, but Mikki Free douses his eyes with bleach. Nemesis & Jerry Palmer head over to check on Jackson. (7) Fields & Shatter. (8) Hollywood Brunettes (Andrew Alexander & Kyle Matthews). Shatter hoists Hawkins in the air, but before he can launch him, Fields is eliminated. FIELDS & SHATTER ELIMINATED. Shatter is pissed, double clotheslines the Brunettes and sends Delay to Hades with a huge powerbomb. Shatter grabs the microphone, shoots on Truitt and disbands the tag team. Shatter heads back to the locker room with bodies lying limp in the ring. The Brunettes arise first and attempt to finish off Delay, but he collapses every time. Hawkins sneaks in and catches the Brunettes by surprise to give his team the victory.

COMMENTS: This was more storyline than substance. It advanced several storylines while setting up singles action for Truitt & Shatter.



- OVERALL: This is what a wrestling TV show: decent wrestling and advancing storylines. If only other promotions could learn that keeping booking simple will typically bring in the fans.

More Names, Matches Announced for Next Month's NWA Wrestling Legends Fanfest!

Fanfest weekend just got a lot better, folks.

I'm happy to announce names of three new featured guests for this year's NWA Wrestling Legends Fanfest, Friday through Sunday, August 10-12, at the Hilton University Place hotel in Charlotte, North Carolina.

"The Million Dollar Man" TED DIBIASE will make his first-ever fanfest appearance, signing autographs and posing for photos with fans, as well as being the focus of our Friday night, VIP-only Question and Answer session, hosted by former NWA and WCW television host, Chris Cruise.

"The Natural" DUSTIN RHODES will also be making his first-ever appearance at fanfest, signing autographs and posing for photos with fans -- both as himself and in full costume and makeup as "Goldust!"

On Saturday evening, August 11, Rhodes will also be squaring off against Tully Blanchard in a matchup that is likely to be the final bout in the long illustrious career of the original Horseman. Manager James J. Dillon and "The Perfect 10" Baby Doll will be accompanying Blanchard to the ring in this final encounter.

Former ladies' world champion PENNY BANNER will also be on hand for the weekend's festivities. NWA HAMMERLOCK SUMMER CAMP 2007

In addition to our regular Saturday wrestling
training, we have for the last twelve years held an
annual professional wrestling training summer camp.

These camps are always a great success with a good
attendance.

This will be the 13th Annual Hammerlock wrestling
training summer camp, the camp will run over a one
week period In addition to the regular facilities
offered such as a wrestling ring, mats etc it will
also offer a permanently sited camera for recording
training so that trainees can watch their progress in
the TV/DVD/video area provided.

The venue for this year's summer camp is:

The Sports Hall,
The Centre Piece Building,
Ashford,
Kent.

The dates are:

Monday the 6th until Saturday the 11th of August 2007

The main coach for the course will be Andre Baker who
is a fully qualified, registered and insured coach
with many years of varied wrestling and martial arts
experience; he is also fully qualified by the
N.A.B.B.A as a body building instructor. Andre will be
assisted by various experienced and prominent members
of the NWA-UK Hammerlock team such as the likes of
former NWA United Kingdom heavyweight champion
"Vigilante" Johnny Moss, Jon Ryan and Danny Garnell,
many more all of whom will be fully qualified,
registered and insured.

During the course we mainly cover Professional
wrestling although we can cover various other styles
of wrestling and Martial Arts if required, We will as
always be on the look out to develop potential new
talent from the trainee's in attendance at the camp,
we can also offer to anyone interested a ring
wrestling grading with an approved syllabus at the end
of the week.

We hold many live wrestling events and we are hoping
it may be possible to hold a live event at a venue
very close to the summer camp during the same period
as the camp takes place with the aim being to include
some of the new trainee's from the camp in an over the
top rope rumble event at a potential live event.

Starting trainee's on live events is something we have
been able to do on some of our camps in the past,
please bear in mind that some very good talent has
discovered on some of our previous summer camps, for
example Johnny Moss who is now making a great name for
himself both here and in America.

We hope as usual to have a surprise guest or two, at
previous years camps these guests have included Jake
"The Snake" Roberts, Sky TV's NFL presenter Nick
Halling & former Mr Universe Shaun Davis to name but a
few.

Trainee's will be able to take part in gradings for
which certificates will be issued.

At the end of the week trainee's will put together
matches during training that they will perform along
with promotional interviews that will be recorded &
edited together and put on to DVD's for those that
want a copy.

details including directions and times etc.

Rules Concerning Under Sixteen's Attending Training
Camps

We must insist that any person under sixteen years of
age wishing to attend one of our camps must be at
least fourteen years of age, at the time of applying
to book a place for a camp they would need their
parent/guardian to provide us with written approval
for them to attend that particular camp, we would
provide them with a standard liability form which
would also need to be returned to us completed and
signed by their parent/guardian, if these documents
were not supplied the booking would be declined.

Marcus Riot vs. Lil Cholo

After putting on a stellar performance in spite of a
losing effort last month at "Over the Top," Marcus
Riot now faces a huge obstacle ahead of him. That
obstacle is a man who is only in his mid-twenties but
has been wrestling for about ten years. This
particular person happens to be responsible for Marcus
Riot becoming a professional wrestler as he trained
him a few years back in Anaheim. Lil Cholo has earned
a reputation for putting on amazing matches throughout
the state of California. In the last year, Marcus Riot
has done the exact same as he has dazzled crowds
everywhere with his unbelievable athleticism and hard
hits. This is the legendary story of older teacher vs.
younger student. Will Cholo continue to be the master
of lucha libre in Southern California or will Marcus
Riot prove that he is the new ruler of this domain?

Loser Leaves Town Match
"The High-Flying Sensation” Steven Andrews vs. Shawn
Bateman

During the battle royal that took place last month,
Steven Andrews threw Shawn Bateman over the top rope
eliminating him from the match. Many people are
calling this the biggest fluke in HRW history. Shawn
Bateman must have felt the same way as he re-entered
himself illegally into the ring and disposed of Steven
Andrews. After doing so, he took his anger out on the
youngster all over the high school gym floor. Mr.
Massie stood by and watched the beat down with a
disgusted look in his eyes. Later on we found out that
Mr. Massie felt for the newbie Steven and awarded him
a one on one match against Bateman at Highway 2 Hell.
Not only will Steven Andrews get a shot at getting
revenge on Shawn Bateman, but he will now be able to
send Bateman home for good as the match has now been
labeled a "Loser Leaves Town Match." Mr. Massie feels
that it is Steven’s time to step up to the plate and
prove that he is worthy to call himself an HRW
superstar. Will Steven Andrews go big, or go home?

Triple Threat Match
Mike Maze vs. Ryan Mason vs. Hook Bomberry

Hook Bomberry made his long awaited debut to HRW after
being a Southern California regular for quite some
time. He has worked with many feds such as Revolution
Pro, Empire Wrestling Federation, Pro Wrestling
Guerrilla and Battle Ground Pro. Bomberry put his name
on the map years ago up north wrestling for a popular
group known as Pro Wrestling Iron. Unfortunately for
him, Mike Maze got the better of him in a back and
forth match that was extremely competitive. Now you
enter one of the rising stars in all of High Risk
Wrestling, Ryan Mason. If you're talking about HRW fan
favorites then you have to mention this particular
wrestler who is about to mark his second year as a
competitor in the desert's best wrestling fed. This
match will include three men, with three very
different styles. The first to score a pin fall or
submission will be the victor.

Street Fight for the HRW Hi-Desert Championship
Johnny Paradise(c) vs. T.J. Perkins

Of all the matches on this card, this one in
particular has the most at stake. Not only is Johnny
Paradise defending his HRW Hi-Desert Championship belt
but he is also putting his undefeated streak on the
line against a man who he just cannot seem to get out
of his hair. The international superstar T.J. Perkins
has taken it to Paradise unlike anybody else ever has.
These two have gone at it several times. Once
resulting in a 20 minute time limit expiration and
another time ending in a disqualification when a chair
was brought into the mix. Paradise and Perkins may
finally get the opportunity to end this feud once in
for all, as they have been booked against each other
in a no holds barred street fight! There will be no
time limit. There will be no disqualification. There
will be a winner! Will T.J. do the unthinkable and end
Paradise’s streak of excellence? Or will Johnny add
another win to his flawless record?

HRW Tag Team Championship Match
Killer Tsunami (CK and Ronnie Tsunami) vs. The Ballard
Brothers (Shane and Shannon Ballard)

After several months of vacancy, the HRW Tag Team
Championship belts will finally have rightful owners
once again! Mr. Massie announced that he would make a
match pitting two teams of his choosing to battle for
the currently vacant HRW Tag Team Championship belts.
The first choice was very obvious as one of the
companies top tag teams Killer Tsunami was chosen to
take part in the championship festivities. The second
choice for a team was quite different, however. Mr.
Massie mentioned that he would be choosing a team that
has never participated for HRW. He also said that this
particular team would be a couple of guys who have
traveled the world over and have been labeled the best
tag team in California on many accounts. The HRW fans
waited and finally found out that the second team to
battle it out at Highway 2 Hell would be the one and
only Ballard Brothers. Shane and Shannon Ballard have
been around. They've wrestled in Japan, Korea, and
Canada but saw their biggest success in the states
with Ultimate Pro Wrestling as they helped train and
contribute to the careers of many current WWE
superstars. Killer Tsunami has also had success of
their own - success that the Ballards have yet to
taste, as they are former HRW Tag Team Champions. The
Ballard Brothers might be the older team but they do
have the years of experience that Killer Tsunami
lacks. CK and Ronnie Tsunami might not have the years
of wisdom that the Ballards have but are HRW fan
favorites and will garner the much needed "home court
advantage." Will K.T. catch the biggest wave of
success they've caught to date or will the Ballards
earn yet another achievement to brag about?

Tag Team Open Challenge
Scorpio Sky and Sexy Sonny Samson vs. ????

Last month at "Over the Top" we saw the formation of a
new tag team here in HRW. Real life cousins Sonny
Samson and Scorpio Sky teamed up together to cheat and
defeat Marcus Riot. They later on stated that they
would be looking for two opponents to wrestle at HRW's
biggest show of the year. No tag team has yet to
accept this new team’s open challenge. Sexy Sonny
Samson turned a lot of heads last month as not only
did he align himself with one of Southern California’s
best, but he put on one of his best matches to date
with HRW Champion Slick Nick. Scorpio Sky has not done
to bad himself as he finds himself batting .500
holding a 1 and 1 record. You can only imagine what
these two men have in store for whoever has the
courage to accept their challenge at H2H.

6 Man Tag Team Match "NEW SCHOOL MEETS OLD SCHOOL AT
THE HIGHSCHOOL"
The Young Bucks (Matt "Mr. Instant Replay" Jackson and
Slick Nick Jackson) and "The Rocker" Marty Jannetty
vs. Karl "Machine Gun" Anderson, Joey Ryan and Diablo

The Young Bucks have had their hands full with Karl
Anderson, Joey Ryan and Diablo on separate occasions.
Diablo has had notable feuds with both Jackson
brothers in the past as well as Joey Ryan and Karl
Anderson. After Diablo won the "Over the Top" battle
royal, he made the challenge to the Young Bucks for a
six man tag team match at Highway 2 Hell. Obsessed
with defeating and destroying the Jackson brothers,
Diablo abandoned his group "Badd Company" (because
they were not worthy enough) and chose Joey Ryan and
Karl Anderson solely based on their impressive win
loss record against the Young Bucks at previous HRW
shows. It is not difficult to see why Diablo would
choose such partners as Joey Ryan and Karl Anderson as
they are being considered one of the top tag teams in
the world. Diablo then notified the Bucks that they
now had the opportunity to choose a partner of their
own. The HRW Champion Slick Nick quickly countered by
announcing that former WWE superstar "The Rocker"
Marty Jannetty would be the third member of their
team. Diablo, who hates to be out-done, noted that he
would have two young, in-shape, hip wrestlers by his
side and claimed that Marty was old and washed up. The
Young Bucks feel that Jannetty was a great pick and
will have the same fighting spirit he did when he
dominated tag team wrestling in the 80's and 90's.
After all, the Young Bucks have modeled their
wrestling off of Marty Jannetty which makes for good
chemistry in the ring. Will the impressive group of
Diablo, Joey Ryan and Karl Anderson reign supreme? Or
will this newly, updated three men version of the
"Rockers" get the win and then party until midnight?

Jerry Palmer thanked the fans for supporting NWA ANARCHY at HOSTILE ENVIRONMENT, Tony Santarelli (Tony Stradlin) interrupted Palmer, yelling from the crowd, and came over the railing to the ring to ask Palmer for a spot in NWA Anarchy. Palmer told him this was not way to get a spot in Anarchy and had security escort him from the building.

Ring Announcer ER, then explained that there would be a mini tournament to determine the #1 contender for the NWA Tag Team Titles held by Awesome Attraction, three first round matches and then a three team Texas Tornado style match.

In the 1st Tournament match, Seth Delay & Adrian Hawkins defeated Sex & Money (Conley & Pendleton)

WRESTLING: (n.) \’res-ling\ A sport of contest in which two individuals face off in unarmed combat.
ANARCHY: (n.) \an-ar-key\ (1) A state of lawlessness due to absence of authority. (2) A complete lack of order.
What happens when you mix the two together? NWA-Anarchy!

- Chad Parham is the NWA Anarchy Heavyweight Champion and NWA Anarchy TV Champion. Any belts he’s ever desired, he’s obtained. He calls out Christian Cage and of this time on July 2nd, Chad is still in the hunt for the NWA World Heavyweight Title.

- This week, the Awesome Attraction defends their titles against Anger Inc, Abomination challenges Onyx and Chad Parham defends the TV Title against Jeremy Vain. Last week, Jerry Palmer cost the face contingent of the Urban Assault Squad & Truitt & Shatter a victory against Justice Served & Chase & Phoenix.

- John Johnson interviews Vain & Parham. Parham shakes Vain’s hand and begins to speak about his handpicked opponent, but Palmer gently interrupts them. He informs them that he has picked Ace Rockwell as special guest referee. Parham snidely walks off and Vain commands Rockwell to call it down the middle.

1. NWA Anarchy Tag Team Titles: Awesome Attraction (ch.) (Austin Creed & Hayden Young) vs. Anger Inc. (Adam Roberts & Don Matthews)
THE MATCH: According to Alejandro, Austin Creed is enrolling at Rutgers University and founding the coed fraternity Phi Nappy Heada. Well we know where Johnson stole that joke from. Double A catches with Matthews a dragon sleeper/springboard bodysplash by Young for a two count. Matthews escapes to tag in Roberts where he is greeted with a facebuster/bulldog combination for a near fall. Roberts eludes Creed on a turnbuckle charge. Creed answers Matthews with some nasty chops, but Matthews counters with an Air Raid Crash for a near fall. Several ladies experience an extreme ecstasy when the Hollywood Brunettes make their entrance. Anger Inc gets heat on Creed by using a variety of double team maneuvers. Creed catches Matthews with a huge tornado DDT to buy himself time. Creed struggles to his corner and Young receives the hot tag. Matthews clotheslines Roberts and Young inflict further damage by dropkicking him to the floor. The Brunettes console Matthews, but Young wipes them up with a huge senton. Creed wins cleanly with the Monte Fisto. Ron Garvin would be proud. Afterwards, Anger Inc. exchange pleasantries with each other.
WINNER: Awesome Attraction retains.
COMMENTS: Awesome Attraction looked good here, especially Creed. Matthews is pretty good for a man his size and shouldn’t overselling basic moves by wrestlers he outweighs by 50 plus pounds. Plus, he needs to work on his forearms. Overall, Matthews makes a great fit with Roberts. I’d like to see more of him in the future. Correct me if I’m wrong, but the chemistry seemed off here.

- Backstage, Slim J confronts Patrick Bentley regarding his low self-esteem and dwelling on the past.

- The next contest is supposed to feature Abomination and “the Genetic Powerhouse” Onyx. Onyx fails to show up when his entrance music plays. After commercial, Bailey states Onyx has proven his cowardice. The Architect of Doom was preaching the Gospel when Onyx is a coward. Speaking of cowards, the Rejects are dead and buried because the Human Holocaust snapped Tank’s head. They hauled his carcass and tossed him into the nearest BFI dumpster. The Rejects crawled to the back like humiliating dogs. Bailey self proclaims the NWA Elite the modern day Gestapo and they walked to the back triumphantly. The fans mock Bailey by yelling, “What?” The Elite have always outclassed the Rejects. He provides one last tribute to Dan Wilson by screaming. However, Bailey the tables were about to turn and pay the ultimate price. Bailey cites Dominous in the crowd and Abomination gives chase. Wilson sends in Shaun Tempers & Azreal to launch an outright assault on the unsuspecting Bailey & Lewis. Azreal slams Bailey and joins in double teaming Lewis. Wilson & Iceberg quickly follow suit. The Rejects follow Wilson’s personal bidding. Iceberg destroys Lewis with the Ground Zero splash. The Rejects continue to display their anger when Iceberg obliterates Bailey with the Ground Zero splash. Hunter is in total disbelief as Wilson continues his despicable actions. A fan screams bloody murder when Wilson pulls out a dagger. Iceberg turns serial killer as he is ready to slaughter the blessed scapegoat, but Abomination chases off the Rejects. Bailey coughs up blood as heads to the back. Several kids taunt Bailey as he is carried to the back by Abomination. You know it’s a great segment when Johnson is left speechless.

- “The Reverend” Dan Wilson is prepared to bless America with another blessing and sermon of Hellfire & Brimstone. It’s time to set things straight with the Congregation. The Reject’s victory was nullified by total destruction the Elite unleashed afterwards. In warm there are casualties and they lost Tank at Hardcore Hell. Wilson reminds Bailey that Hell doesn’t die. That yellow bellied coward Onyx ran away with his head tucked between his legs. Wow, Wilson is just sick and tired hearing about Abomination and calls him Abortion, the Big Goof. Wilson’s answer to Abomination is Dominous. Wilson says the Rejects could have ended Bailey at any time. There is no forgiveness and the Rejects are moving on. When they are done dominating, they will snatch up all the titles. Wilson promises Bailey that he will suffer the consequences when he enters their house.

2. NWA Anarchy TV Title: Chad Parham (ch.) vs. Jeremy Vain
REFEREE: Ace Rockwell.
PREMATCH: Greg Hunter handles the ring introductions for tonight’s main event. Vain shoves Hunter aside to gloat in all his glory. Parham reminds Hunter that he is from Buckhead, Georgia. Rockwell confiscates a chain from Vain and a roll of nickels from Parham’s boot. Special thanks to Larry Goodman on the latter. Johnson accuses Rockwell of character assassination.
THE MATCH: Rockwell forces Parham to release the abdominal stretch early on when he catches him grabbing the ropes. Vain seizes the moment when Parham argues with Rockwell. Johnson suggests if Vain follow Parham’s Three Year Plan, he might be there in five years. Vain escapes a wristlock with a hair pull. After knocking each other out, Parham slaps on a body scissors, but Rockwell catches him using them again. Johnson compares Parham to calculus and Vain to advanced algebra. That’s not too far above Vain. It’s more like Parham is a master of topology and Vain a master of calculus. Johnson & Hunter plug Anarchy TV in Vain’s hometown and on the thesuperstation.net. Vain rakes Parham’s eyes to gain control. Vain performs the ultimate form of birth control when he misses a splash. Parham makes the cover, but Vain places his foot on the bottom rope. Parham celebrates, but Vain quickly surprises him with a rollup and a handful of tights. Vain believes he has won the match, but soon discovers that Rockwell was staring at trunk pulling the whole time. Vain is thoroughly embarrassed. Vain catches Parham with a wheelbarrow suplex for a near fall. Parham springs up, lands the enziguri and a senton for a two count. They headbutt each other after Parham quickly escapes a sleeper. Parham grabs the TV Title, but Rockwell snatches it from him. Vain snatches Parham’s other strap and cleans his clock for the victory. It just doesn’t pay to have two title belts. Vain celebrates as Rockwell straps the title on him.
WINNER: Vain wins TV Title.
COMMENTS: This match was almost all storyline and little about wrestling, which took away from the overall experience. Rockwell was great playing the referee that was on to every little trick that both heels pulled. A majority of fans gained satisfaction of Parham losing by cheating. Vain has improved and holding the TV title should help his stock as a chicken nuts heel.

- OVERALL: It’s unfortunate this episode was downloadable one week after the Benoit tragedy because the annihilation of Bailey was brilliantly executed. It was hard to watch the segment once Wilson pulled out the dagger. The wrestling wasn’t top notch this week, but a pair of storylines did wonders.

NWA Wrestle Birmingham returned to Zamora Shrine Temple in Irondale,
Alabama Friday night 7-6-07 after a five month absence.

It was an entertaining show. Nostalgia still has its place here. But
more than ever, Wrestle Birmingham is getting a variety of talent into
the mix and with mainly positive results.

Promoter Linda Marx could only shrug her shoulders about the
attendance. She's been running this building for more than 2 years,
and even with Samoa Joe vs. Rhino on top, last night's crowd of 300
was their smallest ever.

Michael St. John opened the show with a 10 bell salute to Sherri
Martel, Nancy Daus and her son Daniel.

The ring announcing was handled by Chase Dee aka Big Fat Oily Guy from
TNA.

(1) "Maddog" Dan Sawyer pinned Brian Murdoch in 4:12. Brian was
playing off a resemblance to Trevor Murdoch more than Dick. Sawyer is
a powerhouse devoid of mobility. His matches are best kept short with
all the weight he's carrying. Sawyer hit an overhead suplex and
Murdoch took a powder. Murdoch got a bit of offense before Sawyer cut
him off and finished him with a powerbomb.

(2) "Exotic" Adrian Street (with Miss Linda) beat Ricky Roberts
(with Marcel Pringle) via submission in 9:47. This was a nice
change of pace from Street's usual matches here, as he sold more for
Roberts than he has in the past. Street opened with his standard ass
pinching shenanigans, and as usual, it got over. Street popped Roberts
knuckles to where you could hear it in the first row. Then he kissed
Roberts in the mouth and pinched him in the ass. Roberts started
working on Street's knee. When Pringle interfered, Linda hit the ring
in protest. That spot got heat. Street did some nice leglock reversal
stuff that you don't see anywhere else. Pringle choked Street with the
camera cable. Pringle always looks like he's on the verge of bursting
a blood vessel. Roberts flew from the top, but Street ducked out of
the way. Street applied a single leg crab while stepping on Robert's
head to get the submission.

Pringle called Street a freak and challenged him to a match. Cowboy
(the MC and national anthem guy) tried to convince Pringle that he
didn't want any of what Street had for him. Street said he would take
on either Pringle or Roberts anytime.

(3) Anton Leveigh beat Brandon Barbwire in 6:37. The crowd
appreciated this match, although these guys weren't as on as they were
that first night in Graysville. They worked a fast-paced TNA X
Division style. Barbwire did a good job connecting with the crowd as a
heel. Leveigh hit a cool springboard neckbreaker early. Barbwire threw
Leveigh over the top and beat him up on the outside. The crowd got on
Barbwire when he started having trouble with his footing. Barbwire
used a swinging neckbreaker for a near fall. Leveigh came back with a
leg lariat for a near fall. Leveigh popped the crowd with a satellite
DDT. Barbwire got a big near fall with a spinning uranage. The finish
was Leveigh reversing a powerbomb into the Border Destroyer. They
didn't hit it clean, but Petey's finisher never fails to get a response.

(4) Dennis Condrey beat Inhuman Fly (with Eddie G) in 5:20.
Condrey's Television Title was not on the line. Condrey took one look
at Fly, a little guy in a zany lucha superhero getup, and was
struggling not to laugh. Condrey knocked him down with a shoulder
block. But when Fly responded with a dropkick, Condrey got serious. He
pounded Fly from pillar to post. Eddie tripped up Condrey and Fly
capitalized with an elbow drop. Condrey came right back with a
brainbuster and pinned Fly with one knee while staring a hole through
Eddie. Condrey gave Eddie a chairshot and laid him out next to Fly.
Condrey then used their carcasses as stepping stones as he exited the
ring. Great stuff from Condrey as always.

(5) McNasty (with Robert Fuller) beat Bull Buchanan in a lumberjack
strap match (5:30). This wasn't one of those watered down
lumberjack matches like I've seen on some indie shows. It was the real
deal with a dozen lumberjacks, 6 heels and 6 babyfaces, all wielding
leather straps, and the heat was terrific. Fuller brought out a "local
gentleman" that was easily over 400 pounds to introduce McNasty. Among
the lumberjacks were El Mexicano, Rivers D'Angelo and Bill Franklin.
McNasty took a bump over the top and got strapped. The lumberjacks
started going at it. McNasty got tossed out again. This time, the heel
lumberjacks protected McNasty, and it was war between the lumberjack
factions. McNasty sent Buchanan through the ropes with a flying
shoulder tackle. Buchanan tasted the leather. Buchanan took McNasty
over the top with him via a clothesline. A wild melee ensued among the
lumberjacks. Meanwhile, back inside the ring, Buchanan was going for a
Samoan drop when McNasty put his lights out with a foreign object. It
was great while it lasted. This feud isn't over by any means.

The babyface lumberjacks gathered around Buchanan. He came to and
started attacking them like he didn't know which end was up. He
powerbombed the hell out of Leveigh, who ended up being carried out.

(6) Mike Jackson (with Bambi) beat Daffney (with Robert Fuller) to
win the NWA Wrestle Birmingham Junior Title in 5:34. The match and
postmatch made for an incredible segment on several levels. Stellar
performances by everyone involved. Before the match, Condrey came out
and offered to help Jackson win the belt "for a small, small fee."
Jackson declined. Condrey repeated his offer emphasizing how small the
fee would be. Jackson said he didn't need or want Condrey's help.
Condrey said he was giving Jackson one more chance and could see
Jackson was getting hot. "You don't have to get mad," said Condrey.
Fuller came out with Daffney. He went chest-to-chest with Condrey. "He
ain't got no business out here," said Fuller. In the confusion,
Daffney jumped Jackson. She bounced his head off the ring steps and
gave him a hiptoss on the concrete floor. Back inside the ring,
Daffney hit a bridging Northern lights suplex but Jackson kicked out.
When Daffney telegraphed a backdrop, Jackson slammed her down by the
hair. The crowd voiced their approval. Fuller got on the apron to
distract. Bambi clipped Daffney's knee while Jackson's back was
turned. Jackson hit a hangman neckbreaker. Again, Fuller distracted
Jackson. Bambi took the opportunity to ram Daffney's knee into the
ringpost. Jackson applied a Boston crab. Fuller threw his white hanky
in. Jackson threw it back at Fuller. Referee Johnny Boone told Fuller
Daffney said no. Daffney was in agony at this point, but that didn't
deter Bambi from ramming her knee into the post. But Jackson never saw
a thing. Jackson gave Daffney a backbreaker and reapplied the Boston
crab. Daffney tapped and appeared to be in tremendous pain as she was
carried to the back. It would have been an awesome blowoff to the feud
under any circumstances, but these weren't just any circumstances.

The postmatch angle was equally awesome. Bambi got in the ring holding
the title belt. She said she and Jackson were friends, and they had
done it, and it was an honor for her to help. Jackson said he didn't
know what she was talking about. Bambi said she wanted to repay
Jackson for his help, but she still wasn't coughing up the belt and
Jackson was getting irritated. "Give it to me. It's mine!" TV
announcer Michael St. John tried to mediate. "You wasn't supposed to
touch nobody. A man stands on his own two feet," said Jackson. Jackson
snatched the belt from Bambi. Condrey showed up just in time to get in
a tug of war with Jackson. Condrey won. Jackson slugged him. Condrey
clocked Jackson from behind with the belt and beat him down. Bambi
walked away shaking her head. Condrey left with the belt. NWA official
Roy Lee Welch assured Jackson that he was the champion and promised to
get the belt back. Jackson said this was the most disgusted he had
even been during his 37 years in the pro wrestling business. Jackson
said wrestling had fallen apart and he was quitting. "I don't even
care no more." It didn't come across like a fake pro wrestling
retirement. There was some powerful allegory in the way this whole
thing played out.

(7) Sonjay Dutt beat Scotty Blaze in 10:39. Blaze is the same
guy that wrestled as Scott Fantastic for Deep South and GCW. He's
gotten in progressively better shape. The response for Dutt was
nothing compared to when TNA ran here in January. They traded holds to
a stand off. Dutt faked a handshake and slapped Blaze across the face.
Blaze got a flurry of offense. He dwarfed Dutt, and it's visually
problematic when the babyface is so much larger than the heel. Blaze
caught Dutt's pescado attempt and threw him back through the ropes
with a press slam. Blaze flew from the top and was met in midair by
Dutt's dropkick. Dutt used a senton to set up a standing moonsault.
The size difference was a problem here as well. Dutt got heat by
faking a slingshot move. Then he started into the 10 punches and quit
after three. Both men down after Blaze's leg lariat. Blaze made the
comeback with a flapjack. Blaze showed babyface fire. Dutt hit a
springboard Thesz press that Blaze reversed into a small package. Dutt
went for the Sonjay Cutter, but Blaze countered with back suplex. The
finish came when Blaze tried a sunset flip from the apron and Dutt sat
down on it using the ropes for extra leverage. Match was OK, but it
could have been a lot better with a different opponent for Dutt. They
must have big plans for Blaze.

With the Junior title belt in hand, Welch called Jackson back out to
the ring. Jackson didn't look too happy to be there. Welch told
Jackson that Condrey had challenged him to a winner takes all match:
Condrey's TV title belt vs. Jackson's junior title belt. Jackson
apologized. He said that as Welch knew from personal experience, the
decision to step away from wrestling would be the hardest one he ever
made. Jackson said he was old and tired but he wasn't going to quit.
Jackson pointed out that wrestler in Wrestle Birmingham history had
ever held two belts at the same time. Jackson said he wanted the match.

(8) Diamonds in the Rough (David Young & Elix Skipper with Robert
Fuller & Gina) beat Bloodline (Michael Rayne & Billy Blade) to retain
the NWA Wrestle Birmingham Tag Team Titles in 14:31. Young pulled
a hot blonde out of the first row to escort him around ringside. How
vampires with fake blood dribbling out of their mouths qualify to be
babyfaces is beyond me, and they're certainly nothing special in the
ring. Bloodline had worked OK in the role at the Graysville shows, but
it wasn't happening here against a quality team like Diamonds. Most of
the people reacted like it was heel vs. heel and never got behind
either team to any significant extent. Diamonds sold big for Bloodline
early and then got heat on Blade. Skipper used his stiff kicks to the
back. Gina gave Blade two pathetic slaps. I have no idea why they have
her out there. If she was some awesome looking chick I could
understand. Fuller got a few licks in has well. Young busted out an
impressive snap huracanrana. Blade got the tag but I wouldn't say it
was hot. Bloodline hit a double cutthroat back cracker on Young and
Skipper made the save. Bloodline gave Skipper a chest cracker/back
cracker combo. Young started a round of finishing moves with a
spinebuster on Blade. Rayne had simultaneously pins, Skipper with an
O'Connor Roll and Young with a bridging Northern Lights suplex, but
Fuller distracted the ref. Diamonds hit a double facebuster on Blade
and Young pinned him.

Paul Adams was acknowledged as Michael St. John's broadcast partner
for the television taping.

(9) Samoa Joe beat Rhino via submission to earn a shot at the
Alabama Heavyweight Title (8:49). Rhino ripped the people of The
South. "You said the South would rise again. Well, I'm still waiting."
Joe got a slightly bigger pop than Rhino. There was a mild "Joe is
gonna kill you" chant. It was a power stand off until Joe decked Rhino
with a shoulder block. Rhino bailed and Joe dished out punishment on
the outside. Back inside the ring, Rhino went down face first after an
enzuigiri upside the head. Rhino took over. Nothing of note about his
offense. He seemed more interested in inciting the crowd. Joe rallied
with a middle rope leg lariat for a near fall. Rhino scored a near
fall with a belly to belly suplex. Joe hit the senton backsplash for a
near fall. Rhino used a spinebuster slam to set up the Gore. Joe
caught Rhino with a kick in the face and locked in the Kokina Clutch.
Rhino tapped right away. The match was fine. Crowd was hotter for the
lumberjack match and Jackson/Daffney.

Rhino called Joe back out to the ring and apologized for his remarks
prior to the match. Rhino said he actually liked Alabama and respected
Joe. He shook Joe's hand and left.

NOTES: El Mexicano has been rehabbing the knee injury he suffered in
April on the Graysville show. He expects to be back in action in a few
weeks…Mike Porter for NWA Main Event was in the house. Porter said his
company has secured the use of the old National Guard Armory in
Pulaski, Tennessee with their first show set for 7/28…Marx said the
Wrestle Birmingham television show is doing solid ratings on WTTO
Channel 21. Marx has a meeting next week with one of the suits from
the station.

stronger relationship with the wrestlers and fans of
the Lucha Libre world, we must observe their practices
and traditions. It is unacceptable to remove another
wrestler’s mask. Blue Demon knows this. He has been
warned before and fined before. After a fine of this
magnitude, I am hoping this is the last we see of this
behavior.”





NWA PRO McAllen, TX 7-8-07



The next afternoon at the McAllen Convention Center,
the event was highlighted by a 3-Way Gauntlet Match to
crown new NWA World Tag Team Champions. Before the
event a coin toss determined which 2 teams would
wrestle first. The team of Billy Kidman and Sean
“Syxx-Pac” Waltman won the toss and sat out the first
half of the contest. Sicodelico, Jr. and Incognito
battled Karl “Machine Gun” Anderson and Joey Ryan in
an intense contest that lasted nearly twenty minutes
on it’s own. In the end, Ryan grabbed a handful of
Incognito’s tights to score the pinfall. The fresh
team of Waltman & Kidman then came down but could not
take full advantage of Anderson & Ryan’s exhaustion.
Miscommunication between the veterans as well as
interference from opposing manager Vander Pyle led to
Billy Kidman surprisingly spearing his partner,
allowing Anderson & Ryan to hit their
superkick/spinebuster combo for the victory and the
championship. Here are full results:

"Summer Chill" Sees Historic North American Title Defenses!

(Richmond, Va) The National Wrestling Alliance's North American Champions were all together in the same place last night. It was an historic occassion. The same men that came in as Champions walked out of the ring as Champions, though one walked out with assistance.

In the tag team encounter, Scotty Blaze and Scotty Rocker took out their frustrations about not being involved in the World Tag Team title situation by beating the hell out of Chris Dramin and Mike Vaughn. Earlier in the show Blaze and Rocker were rather vociferous about not being involved in the World Title match and let NWA Executive Director Bob Trobich and NWA Promoter Dave Marquez just how they felt.

In a fast paced match that was surprisingly brutal, Dramin and Vaughn showed why they are top contenders for the many tag team titles available to them. They surprised the larger, stronger Blaze and Rocker with quick tags, illegal tactics, and their ever present manager, Timmy Danger. Unfortunately for them, it wasn't enough. Rocker and Blaze were able to seperate Vaughn from his partner and pinned him following their 'Sux to be You' double choke-slam.

As Rocker was leaving the building following the conclusion of the show, he was met by a fan asking for an autograph. While signing the autograph Rocker was jumped by Dramin and Vaughn who were waiting for Rocker as well. Rocker was hit with several objects including, but not limited to, a drain spout and pieces of a 2 x 4. Rocker's shoulder was seperated and initial reports say he is out of action for approximately 4 weeks. He has stated that he WILL be in action on August 12 at the NWA Legends Convention to defend against The Old School Empire of Preston Quinn and Mike Booth.

In the main event of the evening, Dru Onyx was successful in turning back his arrogant challenger, NWA Virginia State Heavyweight Champion Pharaoh. Pharaoh was accompanied to the ring by his manager, Sheik Ali Akhbar. To start the show off, Sheik Ali Akhbar was interviewed and said that he and Pharaoh would comply with the agreed upon to rules which stated that both wrestlers would respect the rules of the match and rules of fair play.

Amazingly, the match was pretty clean, with no outside interference from Ali Akhbar. When the wrestlers entered the ring senior NWA Championship Wrestling from Virginia referee Jeff Capo had his hands full trying to keep the two combatants apart. Both men were standing nose to nose and neither would take a step backwards.

The first part of the match saw Pharaoh attempt to outwrestle the North American Champion. Dru Onyx, however, showed why he is one of the best North American Champions to date. Onyx out-wrestled Pharaoh at every turn. A frustrated Pharaoh finally resorted to dirty tactics and a physical brawl ensued.

The action went back and forth until Sheik Ali Akhbar attempted to interfere. Onyx, drawing on his wealth of experience, Onyx avoided the belt shot by Akhbar who was hit by Pharaoh by accident which led to Pharaoh turning and being speared by Onyx. Three slaps of the mat later, Onyx had proven why he was better than Pharaoh on this night.

In a truly shocking gesture, the North American Heavyweight Champion Dru Onyx praised the fortitude and skills of Pharaoh and offered Pharaoh a rematch back in Virginia on Saturday, August 18! To everyone's surprise, Pharaoh's response was, "I will let you know."

Does this mean we can look forward to more Pharaoh/Dru Onyx videos on YouTube and/or Google? Based on the reactions to Onyx's parody of Pharaoh, and Pharaoh's Eulogy of Dru Onyx, wrestling fans will be hoping for more.

ANARCHY: (n.) \an-ar-key\ (1) A state of lawlessness due to absence of authority. (2) A complete lack of order.

What happens when you mix the two together? NWA-Anarchy!



- Last week, Jeff G Bailey downsized his Happy Meal by kicking Onyx out of the NWA Elite, the Urban Assault Squad helped the Awesome Attraction capture the NWA Anarchy Tag Team Titles, and the Hollywood Brunettes gloating after beating up the Creed & Young. This week, Slim J & Patrick Bentley take on the Brunettes.



1. Texas Hitmen (Skitzo & Big Dogg) vs. Steven Walters & Derek Driver

THE MATCH: Johnson questions why Eddie Rich is allowed vacation time when serving less than a year in the Anarchy Armed Forces. Skitzo displays his Mad Ninja Skillz by taking a gourdbuster by Big Dogg on Walters. Remember the only things guaranteed in wrestling are Hunter’s coat and disaster following him. Johnson is twelve years old because he likes Cowboys & Indians. Skitzo takes a tornado DDT for a near fall as referee Harry Jim makes the count. With the referee escorting Big Dogg back to his corner, Walters dropkicks Driver on a lateral press to gain the pinfall on Skitzo.

WINNER: Walters & Driver

COMMENTS: This match didn’t belong on television because neither team has ongoing issues or feuds with anyone in currently in Anarchy. If Anarchy ran house shows, then this would have been a perfect match to get Walters & Driver a victory. Then again, if Walters & Driver are going to be used on a regular basis, they needed a victory against someone. Walters, Driver & Skitzo appeared to have trouble with ring positioning right before the ending, but it didn’t take away from the finish.

RATING: ½*



- Greg Hunter is prepared to pose another $64,000 question to Todd Sexton: Did he go too far last week on Sal Rinauro by causing him to lose his bodily functions? Sexton decides to make matters personal with Rinauro. Sexton blows off a rudely interrupting Adrian Hawkins when he asks him to join him in battle tonight. Hawkins asks Hunter to no avail. Hawkins finally conned a reluctant Brett Thunder to reunite for one night.



2. Todd Sexton vs. Andrew Pendleton III

THE MATCH: Pendleton launches a premeditated attack on Sexton. Johnson confuses the FCC with the FAA. Hunter tells Johnson that he refused to tag with Hawkins because the FCC wouldn’t allow Johnson to call the match by himself. Johnson accuses Hunter of instigating more violence. Sexton escapes a chinlock, but Pendleton tosses him to the floor. Hunter suggests the Producer should partake in color commentating duties while Johnson tags with Hawkins. Johnson calls the Producer a fur face. He is glad that Pendleton got under Sexton’s skin because pigmentation sure hasn’t. Sexton chops Pendleton on the ropes and connects with the Gamebreaker. Sexton uncles Pendleton by choking him out.

WINNER: Todd Sexton.

COMMENTS: Sexton garnered sympathy from the crowd for once, which is always a good sign. This was Squash City once Sexton regained his senses.

RATING: ¾*



3. Slim J & Patrick Bentley vs. Adrian Hawkins & Brett Thunder

THE MATCH: Thunder spends a considerable portion of ring time because Hawkins is too scared to confront Bentley & J. Jay Nelson, who watches Anarchy in Clayton, aspires to become a professional wrestler and thinks Johnson is an idiot. There’s nothing like a child shooting on the heel color commentator. Hawkins contracted the 24 hour Eboli virus 36 hours ago and consequently, has a 1080 degree fever. Hawkins miraculously recoups from the Ecoli virus and tags in after Thunder gains the advantage. Bentley responds to Hawkins’s offense with a backbreaker. J receives the hot tag and Hawkins is amazingly back to his medically challenged self. However, Thunder has other ideas and prescribes Hawkins a lethal dosage of his own medication. J takes full advantage with series of stiff clotheslines and a wicked package piledriver on his own knees. Kevin Steen would like to send his admirations to Slim J on that package piledriver.

WINNER: Bentley & Slim J.

COMMENTS: Slim outshadowed everyone else involved. I’m not knocking anyone here, but it’s just a testament to Slim J’s personality and capability.

RATING: *½



4. Hollywood Brunettes (Kyle Matthews & Andrew Alexander) vs. Cowboys & Indians (Windwalker & Billy Buck)

THE MATCH: The Brunettes enter the NWA Arena to a nice pop from the female contingent. Johnson proclaims the Village People have officially returned. I concur. Alright everyone, now let’s sing: Y-M-C-A! Y-M-C-A! Y-M-C-A! Windbreaker is a savage trained to attack from behind, that’s according to General Custard. Hunter implies that Johnson has viewed too many spaghetti westerns. The Brunettes take control just like they ruled Paris Hilton’s birthday party and the reason for Britney Spears shaving her head bald. Johnson continues to deliver multiple insults toward Windwalker as the Brunettes continue to physically dissect Tahlequah , Oklahoma ’s finest. Did you know that the Brunettes turned down parts in Brokeback Mountain after reading the script? I would, too. Windwalker finally buys himself time with Wahoo McDaniels’ chops and a clothesline. Buck receives a huge pop as he receives the hot tag. Buck goes Buck Wild on the Brunettes. The native of Houston , TX , who is sporting Tar Heel Blue for some reason runs into the opposition’s corner and finds himself a victim of the Sheeney Curse.

WINNER: Hollywood Brunettes

COMMENTS: This is what a squash match is supposed to do: make the heels look strong and allow them to sneak in signature moves.

RATING: *



- “Mr. Representation” Al Getz leads Justice Served to the ring to rid the NWA Arena of Cowboys & Indians. Getz commandeers the mike and commands the Urban Assault Squad to head out. The UAS launch an attack, but Brody Ray Chase, Brandon Phoenix and Truitt & Shatter make it an eight way. Jerry Palmer plays matchmaker and combines two tag matches into a single eight man tag.



5. Urban Assault Squad (Nemesis & Shadow Jackson) & Truitt & Shatter vs. Justice Served (Jason Justice & Mikki Free) & Brody Ray Chase & Brandon Phoenix

THE MATCH: The crowd unleashes a deafening roar and immediately goes into “Kill the Cracker” mode as Jackson goes to town with a series of bionic elbows. JS doubled team Shatter until he kills Justice with a wicked spinebuster. I can see why Bailey wanted this physical specimen. After commercial, Free clobbers Fields with a clothesline. Chase & Phoenix takes turns whipping each other into Fields. Chase jawjacks with the crowd after a nice vertical suplex on Fields. Phoenix applies a chinlock after a nice T-bone suplex. Jackson destroys Phoenix at ringside. Hunter announces Getz is hiding underneath the announcer table in case anybody wants to kill him. Fields connects with a jawbreaker and tags in Nemesis. Getz leaps on the ring apron, but Palmer hauls his ass down. Justice clocks Nemesis with a chain as referee Harry Jim has his back turned to the action. Getz basks in all his glory because he outsmarted Palmer.

WINNER: Justice Served & Chase & Phoenix

RATING: **



- NEXT WEEK: Abomination vs. Onyx.



- OVERALL: This episode was more about setting up future storylines and allowing a few teams to get clean wins. Walters & Driver finally got a win, Sexton got a squash and the Brunettes received an opportunity to show their stuff. Johnson was outrageous on color commentary with his Cowboy and Indian jokes. Hopefully, Bentley’s character can get over with the crowd.

NWA Pro/Ultra Championship Wrestling-Zero "Summer Assault"
June 29, 2007 in Salt Lake City, Utah
--UCW-Zero Ultra-X champion Jeff Orcut vs. UCW-Zero
CEO Stevie Slick
Orcut came out to the ring and stated that he had been
attacked while leaving the gym yesterday, and was not
medically cleared to defend his title. Slick demanded
that Orcut award him the title due to forfeiting the
match, but Commissioner Mike said that titles don't
change hands that way and that when Orcut was ready to
wrestle again, then he would defend his title.
Commissioner Mike then introduced Chip as Orcut's
replacement.

--Chip defeated UCW-Zero CEO Stevie Slick
Chip teased homosexuality with Slick throughout the
match, going as far as doing a bump & grind on Slick
in the corner. Chip eventually pinned Slick after
tucking Slick's face between his legs for a reverse
tombstone piledriver variation.

--Dallas Murdock (w/Cassidy) defeated Radical Ricky
(UCW-Zero Tag Team champion)
Murdock defeated Ricky when Ricky's arm was dropped
three times by the referee after Cassidy hit him with
the UCW-Zero tag team title belt and Murdock locked
him in the figure four. After the match Cassidy and
Murdock continued to beat on Ricky until Ricky's tag
team partner Derrick Jannetty came in for the save.
Jannetty tried to help Ricky out of the ring, but
Ricky pushed him away and walked to the back alone.

--Kaos & Khan Kussion defeated Los Mochi Paco
(UCW-Zero Mexico champion) & Guerrero Azteca
Azteca flirted with a fan at ringside the entire
match, eventually taking her backstage and leaving
Paco alone in the ring. Kaos pinned Paco after he hit
a legdrop and Khan Kussion simultaneously hit a
frogsplash on Paco through a table.

--After intermission Paco came out to the ring and
berated the referee for letting Azteca leave him alone
in the ring. He then challenged Khan Kussion to a
rematch on August 3rd, and said that he has a partner
that will always have his back--Los Mochi Damien.
Kussion accepted the challenge and said that he would
find himself a partner as well.

--Cassidy (w/Dallas Murdock) defeated Kid CadeCassidy
pinned Cade after hitting a Fameasser off the top
rope.

--Derrick Jannetty (UCW-Zero Tag Team champion)
defeated "Mr. Spectacular" Devan Payne (w/UCW-Zero
Stevie Slick)
Jannetty defeated Payne by disqualification when Payne
blatantly kicked him in the crotch in front of the
referee. Validus, Magnus, Cassidy, and Dallas Murdock
came out and helped Slick and Payne beat on Jannetty
until Commissioner Mike came out to stop them. Slick
and Payne challenged Commisioner Mike to a tag team
match on August 3rd, if Mike could find a partner.
Mike said that he'd make some phone calls and have a
partner by the end of the night. After they left,
Radical Ricky came out, apparently to help Jannetty.
Ricky handed Jannetty one of their UCW-Zero Tag Team
title belts, then threw the other on the mat near
Jannetty and left him laying in the ring.

--Magnus defeated Alex Brady
Magnus pinned Brady after a Celtic Cross.

--Validus (w/UCW-Zero CEO Stevie Slick) defeated
UCW-Zero Heavyweight champion Tristan Gallo to win the
title
On a funny note, a fan at ringside chased Slick around
the outside of the ring. When Validus stopped her and
accused her of never being with a real man like him,
she tried to flash him and said that they were real.
After Slick interfered in the match several times,
Validus was able to pin Gallo to become the new
UCW-Zero Heavyweight champion.

--Slick, Validus, Magnus, and Devan Payne all beat on
Gallo after the match, but Commissioner Mike came out
to stop them again. He announced that he found a
partner for August 3rd......MARTY JANNETTY!!!

The next NWA Pro/UCW-Zero show is scheduled for August
3 in Salt Lake City , Utah . Matches announced so far:

NWA PRO/VIVA LA LUCHA



There’s an old saying that the cream rises to the top
and once again Viva La Lucha run by the incomparable
Ruben showed why it’s the best lucha promotion in this
area. I have been to a few shows this year and
tonight’s event was by far the best I have seen. I was
nervous with anticipation about how the new venue
would affect attendance but I saw several old faces at
the Southwestern College Gym in Chula Vista . The house
wasn’t jam packed like I have seen at Montgomery HS in
the past but I think there were at least 350 people
there. I’m not good at guessing attendance figures so
if I am way off, I hope someone corrects me. There is
not a lucha promotion in all of southern California
that can match the talented roster of Viva La Lucha
and all of the workers proved that tonight.

The night started off slowly as Shamu and Black
Machine got the best of Huracan Negro and X-Torm. I am
always impressed with Shamu who is very agile for his
size but tonight it was the much larger Black Machine
who pulled a moonsault out of nowhere for the victory.
The crowd was quieter than usual for a Viva La Lucha
opener but they were certainly entertained.

After this match, Ruben came out to thank everyone for
coming out. Suddenly he was interrupted by Anchor’s
Away (Ryan Stone and David E. Jones). I have never
seen these guys before but they did a good job of
drawing some heat from the fans. They hurled
anti-immigrant comments into the predominantly Latino
crowd and were bold enough to challenge anyone from
the dressing room to come out and shut them up. Out
came the legendary Mascarita Sagrada who cleared the
ring to the delight of his many fans.

The next bout saw the rudo duo of El Galeno and
Aquiles (not sure if that was his name) knock off Wama
and El Faraon. Neither team was particularly
impressive but they put out a good effort and kept the
crowd pumped up.

Up next was a 2nd round match from the NWA World title
tournament. This match was originally scheduled to
occur in Oklahoma but due to flooding in the Sooner
state, this match-up was moved to San Diego . As
further proof of the respect that NWA promoters have
for Ruben, his promotion was granted this second round
bout. Brent Albright is a tremendous talent who at one
time competed in the WWE as Gunner Scott. His opponent
was the face of Rising Phoenix Wrestling out of
Arizona , Fred Sampson. This was my favorite match of
the night. After some early stalling by Albright both
men proceeded to put on a solid wrestling match. The
crowd was behind Sampson all the way and after hitting
the Bonecrusher Powerslam on Albright, it looked like
he was going to pull off the upset. Albright kicked
out and soon after he put Sampson in what I thought
was going to be a full nelson. Instead of grabbing
both arms, Albright connected on a half nelson/German
suplex that put Sampson out for the 1-2-3. With the
win Albright advances to the semi-finals of the NWA
World title tournament.

The next bout featured two elements that are always
crowd favorites, the minis and lady wrestlers. Candice
LeRae and Furball from the movie Nacho Libre defeated
Nikki and Espantito in a really entertaining match.
LeRae pulled off some incredible aerial maneuvers that
showed why she is one of the best female workers in
the business. As usual the minis were a big hit with
the kids.

The fifth match of the night was somewhat of a
surprise as NWA Pro’s “Machine Gun” Karl Anderson made
his Viva La Lucha debut teaming with the extremely
talented Cobra II to take on veteran Misterioso and
Tijuana ’s own Scream. Anderson is a fantastic heel who
can draw major heat from the fans. He is also well
versed in Spanish curse words. As I commented to Ruben
after the show, I had a chance to see Cobra II work at
the VFW in Lemon Grove when he was just breaking into
this business under a different gimmick and even back
then I could tell he had star potential. Misterioso is
a solid veteran who matched up well with both Anderson
and Cobra II. Scream, who I thought was out of place
in this match-up, hung in there as best he could. The
finish came when both Anderson and Cobra II pinned
Misterioso.

The semi main event was the most entertaining match of
the night. The exotico duo of Cassandro and Ruby
Gardenia faced off against El Paso , TX 's talented
tandem of Magno and Rey Escorpion. The crowd
absolutely loved the exoticos. I have said before that
Cassandro is one of the best high flyers in the
business and he proved it again tonight. Gardenia is a
great comedy wrestler but he can mix it up too. Rey
Escorpion is a muscular big man with surprising
agility and Magno is simply put an amazing flyer. The
crowd cheered loudest and laughed the most during this
bout. As usual with the exoticos, there were several
“Beso, beso, beso” chants and the hilarious antics of
Ruby Gardenia kept the crowd involved. The end came
when Cassandro pinned Magno.

The main event featured some incredible out of the
ring brawling as Psicosis teamed up with TJ Boy to
face off against Rey Misterio Sr. and El Hijo de Rey
Misterio. Any Psicosis-Misterio Sr. match-up always
features some vicious chair shots and this one was no
different. The crowd was on their feet for the whole
match. El Hijo de Rey Misterio hit a devastating DDT
on TJ Boy to capture the victory.

No word on the date for the next Viva La Lucha event
but I am sure everyone in attendance tonight can’t
wait. It looks like Ruben has found a new home for his promotion.





NWA PRO/AUSTRALIA



5th Man Secures His Place In Tournament

On the 9th June 2007, the fifth name in the NWA
Australian title tournament was decided.

In Perth , Western Australia , our affiliate group,
Explosive Pro Wrestling, held a match between Bobby
Marshall & Victoria ’s Spike Steele.

Marshall is a name well known to NWA Pro fans as he
has wrestled regularly for NWA Pro and it’s affiliate
groups in Southern California . Steele is one of the
most established names in Australian wrestling.

We already know that four of the spots in the
tournament are filled with Fergal Devitt, Mikey
Nicholls, Jimmy Payne & Hartley Jackson all being
invited to participate in the tournament.

This was the first qualifying match for the remaining
four spots in the tournament and it highlighted the
desperation of both men to secure themselves a shot at
becoming the first NWA recognised Australian champion.

In the end, it was Spike Steele who would win by
tapout in an incredibly hard fought victory.
