K-1 Dynamite USA an even bigger mess

MMAWeekly reported yesterday that Fight Entertainment Group the parent company of K-1 needed to supply the California State Athletic Commission with some financial information in order to obtain a license to promote their portion of the Dynamite USA show June 2. Pro Elite, owners of EXC have already gotten their license. FEG sent information yesterday but it was not the correct information.

Well, today comes news that Brock Lesnar's scheduled opponent Hong-Man Choi has been denied a license to fight on medical grounds. There's still a chance he could pass another physical before the show but this is just another problem for a show that has had more than its fair share. Everything from being stupid enough to run the L.A. Coliseum to having trouble getting a license for the show oh, and not announcing the Showtime hype specials until hours before the first was supposed to air...almost forgot about that. Add to that, Gina Corano having to pull out due to injury and this is making TNA look like a company full of rocket scientists and brain sergens by comparison.

Brock Lesnar announces MMA future, then retires & unretires again.

Last night in Las Vegas, Nevada, former World Champion Brock Lesnar announced that he has joined the K-1 organization. It had been expected for some timethat Brock, who has been training for Mixed Marital Arts, would be announcing his affiliation with the group. MMA legend Royce Gracie announced that hewould be training Lesnar, at the request of K-1. Lesnar is tentatively set to have his first fight in February of next year for K-1's HERO'S group.

Lesnar is being trained by Royce Graci? The man who never quits is training the guy that quits at everything?

We hear at the Old Country Corner eagerly await the announcement of the hangnail that will delay Lesnar's first fight beyond February.

The corner has gotten a couple of exclusive "quotes" from our super-dooper inside sources.

The first is from Lesnar himself, when asked what he thought the biggest challenge would be in moving to MMA. "I don't really think there are that many challenges to be honest. I mean I already know how to tap out, and that's all I'm really going to need anyway."

When asked by Old Country Presses reporter Himlock Bolmes what the training for Lesnar has been like so far, Graci had the following comment. "Well, it is kind of tough, at first he used to give up and go home 3 or 4 times a day. But now, we've got him to where he's just quitting twice a week, once on Monday and that lasts until late Wednesday afternoon then he comes back and quits fresh Thursday morning."

When Bolmes caught up to Brock's wife she said: "He had to do it, I mean its expensive to have a wife like me. I don't care how many times he gets his ass kicked, money is what matters to me."

The Old Country press has yet to varify the claim that Lesnar tapped out half way through his press conference only to change his mind 15 minutes later.

***Note: With the acception of the initial quote from PWInsider.com, the above is what is known as a parity. These events haven't really happened, at least not yet. The Old Country provides this disclaimer for those of you that are slow. ***
