*BJ was welcomed by Blade & Mosh for his first-ever Mayhem appearance. After the Full House, Beverly Hills 90210, & Karate Kid: Part II icebreaker, BJ was asked what the buzz is going into ROH's huge debut in Japan this upcoming week. "We need it at this point in time," coming off the heels of successful trips to the United Kingdom and pulling in fans from other areas of the world. He is excited, the company is excited, the wrestlers are excited...everyone is excited.

*BJ says that those that have seen the finished, final product of Ring Of Honor's first-ever PPV, "Respect Is Earned," thought it was "absolutely phenomenal." He thinks doing the Pay-Per-Views is an excellent move for the company -- to expand their fan base & audience. He also hopes that the company can make some money from the PPV's.

*With regards to providing competition to the WWE & TNA, BJ feels that Ring Of Honor has the hungriest locker room, and also provides solid storylines as well. That could equate to more people following the company, and things going up from there.

*Whitmer has not spoken to anyone in the office in particular for a "company reaction" to the Benoit family tragedy. Before this all happened, BJ said that he "idolized" Chris -- from before he even started in the business. He is "let down" by what happened, and feels that the wrestling industry has suffered a black eye, but will recover like it always has in the past. He hopes that eventually & in time, he will be able to separate "Benoit, the performer" from "Benoit, the monster."

*Mosh & Blade were in attendance the night before WrestleMania 23 at the Fairgrounds in Detroit, MI to witness one of the best Steel Cage Matches in 2007 between BJ & Jimmy Jacobs. In response to The Mayhem's collective question about whether or not that was his career-defining moment, Whitmer replied "one of them" -- in addition to his Barbed Wire Match against Necro Butcher, as part of the ROH/CZW feud from last year.

*BJ feels that Ring Of Honor having the association with various feds from around the world, mainly Pro Wrestling Noah, has helped the company very much -- especially with gaining credibility with fans in other countries & continents. Mosh, Blade, & Whitmer all agreed that this will be a key ingredient to the success of the Japan shows this week.

*The goal for the company right now & into the rest of 2007 is for the talent in Ring Of Honor to be able to make a comfortable living, and be able to officially call ROH "home" -- and not having to worry about the rigorous schedule of the WWE. Signing their contracts have kept the talent busy, plus they have also been able to still work a few additional indy shows, without any interference or trouble.

*With regards to having TNA talent on future Ring Of Honor shows, he does not see that happening, mainly because they have decided to venture into the PPV market & have official contracts -- which establish themselves as ROH talents.

*BJ is hoping that in the near future he can have the ROH World Heavyweight Championship around his wait. Being a part of the company since 2003, he feels he is one of the company's leaders. He would like to follow in the footsteps of CM Punk, Homicide, & others and carry the torch proudly for the company.

*Both J.J & Tully were welcomed to the program by Mosh & Blade, and they were very grateful to be spending some of their time during the 4th Of July holiday with The Mayhem & the wrestling fans throughout the world. *The Big Mosh commented on the legacy of The Four Horsemen, calling it a slice/a part of "Americana." Especially in the wake of the continuing coverage of the Benoit family tragedy that wrestling fans have been bombarded with the past two weeks, both Tully & J.J. agree that their mindset was always to perform to the highest possible level and to give back to the fans every time they stepped inside the ring -- "with 110% effort & energy." Tully said that today it's more of a matter of other people looking out for themselves, and not for the giving of the business as a whole.

*J.J. said that especially right now, it is very difficult to focus on the positives of the wrestling business, in the wake of the recent passing of "Sensational" Sherri & the Benoit family. He believes that what The Horsemen put into the business 20 years ago carries into today's business aspect about giving the fans everything you have in the tank, the aspect of "performing twice on Saturday & twice on Sunday." The work ethic kept them together then, and still keeps the business together in that positive aspect today.

*With regards to the coverage of the Benoit family tragedy, J.J. believes that some of the cable news networks did not know where to get their information -- which led to a lot of "absurd" comments being made by misinformed individuals. "When something like this happens, there is media overkill." To a degree, J.J. feels that there is some correlation in between the lifestyle wrestlers lead to these unfortunate & tragic end results that happen. "It is a tough lifestyle that is not for everyone" -- as wrestlers spend time away from their families/miss important events in their life because they do what they love inside the squared circle.

*Tully stated that when he walked out of the ring on his last night in the NWA in Philadelphia, PA, that was the last, real night of The Four Horsemen. The NWA/WCW tried several times to recreate newer & better versions of the faction (to try & sell some tickets/merchandise), but Tully strongly believes it was never the same as the original group -- "The Nature Boy" Ric Flair, Ole Anderson, Tully Blanchard, & Arn Anderson (being managed by J.J.).

*To silence the critics on this particular topic, Tully wished to go on record about what has been reported about a recent return to World Wrestling Entertainment. "I did not return to the WWE -- that's is everyone's misconception." He was flown up there to observe, and to see if that would be something he would be interested in doing...period. He was offered a job, but they never talked about finances & more details, in the course of him being there for two days. The determining factor in him deciding not to take the position was a conversation he had with the late Chris Benoit, when Chris asked Tully "if he missed the business." He does not, and feels that to an extent, the business has passed him by.

*With regards to the alleged "heat" with the current color commentator of WWE Friday Night SmackDown, JBL, "it was a one-sided conversation" with a guy that he does not recall even meeting. Tully continued on by saying that it was his job for people to be angry/mad at him in his career, and he must still be doing that right, because JBL is still mad at him.

*Tully was not overly impressed with the new Four Horsemen DVD recently put out by the WWE, saying they displayed more personal negatives on himself then positive -- especially the part about him being sober for the past 17+ years & Christ changing his life. Also, to begin with, Tully said the original concept of the DVD was a Four Horsemen project, and then it changed afterwards to "Ric Flair & The Four Horsemen." J.J says it was a well-done DVD, and was fairly accurate. J.J also added the fact that The Four Horsemen were already famous & credible before they formed the faction, and Flair added even more credibility to the group being the World Heavyweight Champion.

*Mosh & Blade talked about the rumors of "The Nature Boy" Ric Flair possibly retiring at WrestleMania 24 in Orlando, FL and being inducted into the WWE Hall Of Fame, and the idea of having the original Four Horsemen being inducted on the eve of WrestleMania. Tully stated that he is under contract by the WWE *for personal appearances, action figures, etc). He would be open to be inducted into the WWE Hall Of Fame, and being a part of the celebration. J.J went on record by saying that Ric is "better than 75% of the workers in the business." J.J has never spoken to Vince McMahon since he last worked for him, but would be willing to put his differences aside, and would be proud to be inducted as well, along with his fellow Horsemen.

*Plenty of discussion is contained in the rest of this hour-long interview, including: Tully & J.J.'s thoughts on whether or not World Wrestling Entertainment should change their Wellness Policy, the loss of credible managers in the business today, & their respective thoughts about returning to "Horsemen country" in August for the NWA Legends Fan Fest. Sherri Martel's Family Issues Statement/Memorial & Funeral Arrangements (6/18 MNM)

*Sherri's son (Jared) & her long-time friend, travel partner, and sister (Dawn), & Rob respectfully thanked The Big Mosh, Blade, & The Angry Hero for having them on the show.

*Dawn will be in Alabama this Saturday and will collect cards & donations for the services.

*Funeral arrangements are still up in the air right now.

*There will be a closed service for the wrestlers in the business, and the fans will be able to join for the precession. There will not be a public viewing.

*The fans can also see the precession at the grave site.

*Dawn said that her & Sherri always traveled and did everything together, and that Sherri was a great person who loved her fans. She would always spend time to meet with her fans. Dawn said that it is devastating to her that she isn't going to be with Sherri after 18+ years of being together.

*Dawn & Jared will be at all of Sherri's future bookings to make up for Sherri's passing.

*She said Sherri was very nervous during her WWE Hall Of Fame induction ceremony and didn't know what to wear, and that Dawn had to calm her down before the ceremonies took place.

*Jared said that he was with his mom when they traveled around, but was never shown until WrestleMania weekend last year, when she was inducted into the WWE Hall Of Fame.

*He said they were like best friends when they traveled together, and that her mom truly loved the business.

*Jared talked about how his mom was very tough -- even before she died she was still as tough as she used to be, and would put somebody in line if they needed it.

*Dawn said that the business has definitely changed since Sherri first started, because she has not seen anyone as tough or work as hard as Sherri did.

*Jared talked about the times that he spent with her mom, as well as the times that he had to travel without Sherri to make it to the locations that she needed to be in.

*Both of them are getting a tattoo of Sherri to show how important Sherri is to the family -- it's the way for them to "stay together" with Sherri forever.

*Sherri & Jared talked about the Mr. McMahon "death" storyline, and how they continued after Sherri's passing. The family is indeed upset at this, but said that Sherri would have wanted the show to go on anyway.

*In closing, Jared & Dawn want the fans to remember Sherri for what she did for wrestling, her fans, & how she was instead of her recent passing/how she is now.

2 Cold's first interview since his WWE release (a Mayhem exclusive), is now available for FREE in Real Audio.

*Scorpio was welcomed back to the program by Mosh, Blade, & The Angry Hero for his second Mayhem appearance in the past year. 2 Cold said he was "ready to go like always," and gave a special "wooty woo" to all of his fans listening.

*The question on the minds of most wrestling fans throughout the world: What went wrong that caused the WWE to release him? The powers-that-be thought that he was "not up to par, not quite in shape, and that with all the writing in the company, he would it very odd that they could not find anything for him (either as Scorpio or Flash Funk) on any of the three shows -- RAW, ECW, or SmackDown." He feels, to an extent, that with that said, it was a partial cop-out, with the infamous expression we tend to hear a lot -- "creative has nothing for you."

*One of his best memories he did have working his most recent run in World Wrestling Entertainment was having some decent matches with Gregory Helms. He was overseas, as the WWE put him on one or two of the tours, having the opportunity to integrate his style with the current "E" style.

*Scorpio heard that the reason he was not on ECW was because of alleged "heat" with Paul Heyman (which he had "heard through the grapevine"). The final decision if he was going to be on SmackDown was up to Stephanie McMahon, but again, he does not know why he was not given the opportunity to shine on either brand.

*2 Cold truly believes that the only thing about the new version of ECW is the name.

*He wants it to be known that he did indeed ask for the opportunity to go down to work in Ohio Valley Wrestling to "get off the ring rust & to get in shape" to perfect his game. By never really getting the chance he wanted, he feels he was indeed "screwed."

*Scorpio also feels strongly that "what's old is new," that the company should try going back to some of the more old-school style. The problem with today's product is that it is purely "soap-opera." He thinks that the WWE should not call the matches as much as they currently do, and just let the guys go out there & work -- as there is a very good chance by doing this, it can throw off the matches.

*Taking a trip back, 2 Cold wanted to give props to Michael "P.S." Hayes for coming up with the idea for his initial music video in WCW (which fans can check out on The Mayhem's official MySpace page: www.MySpace.com/MondayNightMayhem). Looking back on it 15 years later now, he asks himself "Damn, who dat?"

*He said that his tag team with Buff Bagwell was good ("a hell of a salt & pepper team"), but they had a falling out & really didn't click with the fans.

*Ten years ago (this November), we will be "celebrating" the anniversary of Scorpio's first WWE run as Flash Funk. From now to then, he believes that the company has changed a "hell of lot" -- "The wrestling has been taken out" (how it mainly was beforehand), and now it's a "24-7 job."

*He recently had the opportunity to work Booker T's new fed down in Houston, TX. Scorpio thinks Booker has a very good opportunity of "opening up another territory," which there hasn't been in a long time. He feels Booker is doing a great job "packing the house."

*2 Cold is going to be challenging Detox & Devon Moore for the PWU World Heavyweight Championship one week from this Saturday night at Pro Wrestling Unplugged's "Crazy 8" event...his return to South Philly. He feels "this is going to be just like the old Scorpio was -- 2 Cold straight to the point, hitting his opponents with the 450." Both Devon & Detox have a slight advantage in the "Crazy 8," because they are more familiar with the match -- but this is not going to deter him. "I have a lot to prove."

*Scorpio is not surprised at Sabu being released by the WWE: "He needs to go where he can be appreciated," as he gives 110% in all of his matches even today, and some people do not see that.

*To close out the interview, he wishes to let his critics (including those in the WWE) know that they should have just let him be 2 Cold Scorpio instead of Flash Funk, as "everyone would have made some money." He did not have any heat with anyone in particular (Vince, Stephanie, Johnny Ace, etc.), but he wishes he would have been given a chance in the WWE.

*To kick off "The Summer Of Mayhem 2007," The Big Mosh, Blade, & The Angry Hero welcomed Bob to the program, as him & several of his former colleagues (J.J. Dillon, Tully Blanchard, "Dr. Death" Steve Williams, Magnum TA, Gary Hart, & others), along with several of the stars of Total Non-Stop Action Wrestling ("The Phenomenal" AJ Styles, "The Samoan Submission Machine" Samoa Joe", "The Instant Classic" Christian Cage, Christy Hemme, & Ms. Brooks) will be a part of this summer's NWA Legends Fanfest (being held August 10-12th at the Hilton University Place Hotel in Charlotte, NC). *The Angry Hero started things off asking what today's fan might think of the "old-school" NWA, especially the Mid-Atlantic territory. Bob said that back then, wrestling was actually wrestling. "I don't think these guys (of today) can wrestle like the guys did in year's past." The big difference, he feels, between now vs. today was many wrestlers were coming out of college and going straight to professional wrestling (such as the Briscoes, the Andersons, & "The Nature Boy" Ric Flair).

*Bob very much enjoys how the fans who supported the product many years ago still remember them today, and how those individeouals still travel to shows around the world today, as well as the various conventions & fanfests (including the upcoming one in Charlotte) this summer.

*The Big Mosh brought up the recent feud that Ric Flair had with Carlito over the past few months, and asked Bob about his memories of "The Nature Boy" and whether or not it surprises him that Flair is still going strong today. "I think they are going to have to carry him out." Caudle went on by stressing the fact that he believes that Ric will go on as long as he can, and as long as the fans want to see him. His ability & charisma have carried him from what he started off in the business to right now. "The fans remember Flair for what he was vs. what is today," and that's why the respect is as evideoent as ever for those who watch the WWE every week.

*Bob does miss the fact that matches of today do not go as long as they did 15-20 years ago, bringing up the one-hour battles that Sting & Flair had in the NWA/WCW as a prime example of classic, lengthy matches that were not boring and without a shadow of a doubt, told a story.

*Caudle does believe that it is more difficult breaking into the business today as an announcer or a wrestler than it was in his time, but it was not easy doing his job back then...as all he had was a format sheet -- he did not know the length of the matches, no writers assisted him in show prep, & he called it just like it was going on in the ring.

*Bob enjoyed his years calling the action with the current voice of WWE Monday Night RAW, WWE Hall Of Famer, Jim Ross. "Ross was easy to work with, was knowledgeable about the product, & had a lot of excitement in his voice calling the matches."

*In regards to the announcers calling the action today, he does not understand why they all try to over talk each other, talk at the same time, & just not knowing what they are saying in general -- which makes it difficult more him & others to follow today's product.

*Caudle wished to also point out to The Mayhem Crew & the listening audience just how important that the tag team wrestling was to the Mid-Atlantic territory & the rest of the National Wrestling Alliance, and how that is missing today.

*With regards to the evolution of the Pay-Per-View industry, Bob strongly feels that Starrcade, followed by The Great AmErican Bash "were the beginning of what started all of the big events."

*In this classic 30+ minute interview, Bob gives his memories & thoughts of working with the legendary "Rowdy" Roddy Piper, and whether he sees Gordon Solie headed into the WWE Hall Of Fame, how the "circuit" of years past would not work in the business today, & why he chose not to get involved in any angles on-camera. Excellent analysis & insight from one of the greatest announcers ever in the industry!

Danny Doring Shoots On Paul Heyman, WWE Wellness Policy, & WWE Release (3/19 MNM)

*Doring was welcomed by The Big Mosh, Blade, & The Angry Hero. Danny puts over the show, saying that "there is no one better to do his first interview than Monday Night Mayhem."

*Last May, before officially starting up with the WWE, Danny joined The Mayhem for his last candid interview. Everything was going well for him at the time, a new opportunity was on the horizon. What went wrong? Doring said that he isn't going to be bitter now or into the future, but the only reason that half of the ECW guys were hired was to bring in some "old-school" fans to watch the show, only to then filter out the old Extreme Championship Wrestling guys, and put in their WWE superstars.

*He says he was happy to have been there, but at the same time it wasn't like any of the old ECW guys had "a fair shot."

*Doring says that the shows were re-written & changed almost seven or eight times during the day, and that he was thrown in on TV shows and then quickly taken out.

*When the WWE first started having separate ECW house shows, it began with all old-school ECW guys -- a great feeling, especially at The ECW Arena. Those guys however were not filling bigger venues, so the WWE decided to use their top guys, and mix them in with the rest of the SmackDown & RAW rosters for TV tapings & house shows in the U.S. & overseas.

*When it comes to some of the newer ECW guys: Mike Knox is a 6'4, 6'5 big guy who wears black boots, black tights, & is a generic guy. Then, they brought in Test -- he was even more jacked up, and not any better. Finally, Gene Snitsky was brought in and was just the same wrestler -- big, intense, & ass-kicking. There could be six or seven guys in Deep South who could basically do the same thing. Answering The Mayhem's question of who cut the mustard so-far from the newer guys, CM Punk has done the best so far, carrying the torch for the new ECW.

*He wishes he could have had the opportunity to do promos (even the ones that never really went anywhere), and then get jobbed out -- as the WWE did not even ask him to do that. Doring says no one ever heard his music, because he always came out to "The Marine" trailer, or they cut to him right in the middle of the ring.

They ask him to pin-point what WWE has done right and wrong and he says he says when people were hired they knew that they would be a WWE version and do what WWE wants them to be and that the WWE makes the new fans think that there were only 4 guys in ECW since they only show 4 originals.

*The Big Mosh joked about Paul Heyman doing "Rollerball II" with some of this new free time, and Doring says that Heyman would not do that, simply because "he does not have to lie to an entire locker room about getting a TV network and not paying them anymore."

*Doring says that he wants to clear the air about Paul Heyman: "He says he has become aware of the fact that Paul does not like him. He says that he doesn't know what he did to him, but he wishes he could do it again 10 times over. He says that Heyman gave him a sugar-coated attitude, that he hates him with every inch of his soul, and that Heyman is a scumbag."

*Danny says that he is the easiest guy to get along with, and that he is a loyal friend. He says he was loyal the whole time in ECW to Paul Heyman, and he is still loyal to the people who trained him.

*The newer superstars on the ECW brand: He says that "most of them kept to themselves. He tried to get along with them, tried to be the model employee, & tried to do everything the right way. He says he is starting to see what he was doing wrong and that was it."

*The WWE steroid allegations that have come out this week, and if feels the Wellness Policy has changed anything in the company: Doring says that "in sports in general, there is a lot of pressure on people, and you can't imagine the pressure that is put on them -- that the look is everything. He doesn't fault anyone for steroids or anything they have done for their careers. It happens in all sports, wrestling included." He believes that the WWE Talent Wellness Policy did not change anything. "People on his tier would have been sent home, but the main-event stars would only get a punishment and be brought back."

*Doring feels that The New Breed/ECW Originals has not been done right leading into WrestleMania, and they pretty much gave away the ending of what we will be seeing in Detroit on "ECW On Sci-Fi" last week.

*He says that he does not feel like he got screwed over in the WWE, and that he was fully aware of why he was there & what his job was. He was happy to be there, simply because he worked his whole life just to get to World Wrestling Entertainment. "It's time to move on now..."

*Being able to work recently & in the future with his former manager in ECW, Amy "Lita" Dumas: Doring says she was only at one of the Maryland Championship shows. He talked to her a little bit, but they didn't get a chance to hang out. He says it was more like "a day at the office."

*In closing, The Mayhem Crew & Danny were joking around about how many current "divas" are in professional wrestling/sports-entertainment because they actually love doing it. Doring says that "Kelly Kelly clearly is in it because she loves wrestling."
