The surgery is to repair the torn peck he suffered at the Smackdown taping in New Orleans.

In a related note, the WWE is expected to announce a mandatory time off policy tomorrow, and they will announce that Edge will be given the next 4 months off in their new initiative to promote a more healthy work environment. Guys will be given breaks from the road as injuries dictate, unless the injuries are not serious and can be cured with massive painkillers or by a strict formula of steroids.

TNA finally announces what everyone already knew

TNA finally announced that Scott Steiner would be unable to compete at Slammiversary.

I'm actually disappointed, because I thought for sure they'd not say anything until at least the pre-show tonight. You know the countdown show which for a large part of the PPV audience you can only see if you pay $30 for the PPV.

Compared to what they could've and I would suggest should've done, they didn't do much. Compared to what I expected them to do...at least it is something.

Scott Steiner injured, Slammiversary match in doubt

Scott Steiner suffered an injury to his trachea in a bout at the TNA house show in San Juan Puerto Rico on Sunday. Details here and it is not known how long he'll be out. He and his brother Rick were scheduled to take on Team 3D at the Slammiversary PPV on 6/17 in one of the night's featured bouts. This would be the first meeting between the 2 teams on a high-profile card, they have wrestled on some of the UWF shows in the past few months.

WWE gets good news regarding injury to Ken Kennedy

The WWE's official website is reporting that the initial diagnosis of Ken Kennedy's triceps injury has turned out to be incorrect and the triceps was not
torn off the bone as originally feared. Kennedy was examined today by Dr. James Andrews and will not need to undergo surgery.

WWE's Dr. Ferdinand Rios was quoted by the WWE website as hoping Kennedy can return to the ring within 4-6 weeks, a far cry from the expected 5-7 months
he would have been out of the ring. Kennedy suffered the injury at the Poughkeepsie, NY house show over the weekend.

Kennedy already has a readymade feud waiting for him when he can return as Edge defeated him for the Money in the Bank title shot this past Monday on Raw,
paving the way for a major angle that will air this Friday on Smackdown.

Two WWE wrestlers injured

-- Dr. James Andrews has been busy early this week examining two WWE wrestlers suffering recent injuries. Former ECW world champ Bobby Lashely has had an injured shoulder for some time now but at Sunday night's Backlash pay-per-view his injury was aggravated in a handicap match against Umaga, Vince and Shane McMahon. Dr. Andrews' examination determined that Lashley has a damaged rotator cuff though surgey won't be necessary. According to Figure 4 Weekly (www.f4wonline.com) Undertaker also went to see the good doctor on Tuesday because he has a torn biceps. It's possible that the biceps tear is full and that Taker may need the rest of the year off. Taker is scheduled to be at the Smackdown tapings this evening and a possible title change may take place.

NFL Injury Roundup

Taking a look at some key injuries from around the league after week 2.


Philadelphia Eagles
lost: Jevon Kearse for the entire season with torn knee ligaments.
This one will hurt the Eagles quite a bit as the Freak is still a force. It looks like the injuries that plagued him in Tennessee might be resurfacing.

Dallas Cowboys
Lost: Terrell Owens for 2-4 weeks with a broken finger.
Well, the Cowboys have a bye this week and another bye, I mean the Titans the week after. I think there is no way that Owens misses his return trip to Philadelphia, unless he wants to be branded a coward.

Minnesota Vikings
Lost: Arasmus James to a torn ACL for the rest of the season.
The Vikings aren't the deepest team at defensive end, this one might hurt quite a bit. I'm not sure having not seen much of Minnesota though.

Houston Texans
Lost: Charles Spencer to a broken leg for the rest of the season.
This is about the best possible news for David Carr other than the NFL extending the regular season by 2 games. The Texans line is not good in the first place and Spencer protected Carr's blindside. Watch the sacks start to ring up, but hey it could be worse he could have Oakland's line.

Cincinnati Bengals
Lost: David Pollack for the rest of the year with a broken neck.
This is a bad injury for Pollack and while a team hates to lose anyone to injury for the entire season especially this early, at least the Bengals are deep at linebacker, especially so when Odell Thurman comes back from his drug suspention.

Oakland Raiders
Lost: Aaron Brooks for 2-4 weeks with a shoulder injury.
This might be the best possible news for Aaron Brooks as it may save his life. Now its the Andrew Walter show, we'll find out if this guy has any potential or if its the Brady Quinn sweapstakes all the way.
