Notes From WWE's FCW event in Temple Terrace, FL

On Saturday June 30, 2007 WWE’s Florida Championship Wrestling held their second event. It was held at the Temple Terrace Recreational Center, 6610 E. Whiteway Drive in Temple Terrace, FL.

(1) “The Puerto Rican Nightmare” Eric Perez defeated Dan Rodman.

Rodman tried to play mind games with Perez, slapping him in the chest on a clean corner break. On the next corner break Rodman went for a right hand punch but only it air as Perez moved and hit an armdrag takeover but Rodman went to the ropes. Rodman scrambled to the roped and on the break Perez got him in a headlock takeover. Again Rodman went to the ropes for the break. On the lockup Perez got another side headlock takeover but Rodman’s body was so long he got the ropes with his legs. Perez switched his attack to a hammerlock but Rodman escaped only to miss an elbow drop which led to another side headlock takeover. Rodman got out and shot Perez off but Rodman dropped expecting Perez to run over. Instead Perez dropped into a side headlock. Both men fought for control of an overhand wristlock but when Rodman complained of a hair pull, he moved the referee so he could pull Perez’s hair and hit a clothesline. Rodman used his power advantage to work over Perez’s back and also some chokes on the ropes. Perez reversed an Irish whip and went for a dropkick But Rodman grabbed the ropes to stop his momentum. Rodman kept working the back with a bearhug that nearly got a submission but Perez fought out with punches and kicks but Rodman hit him with a sideslam. Rodman went for a waistlock but Perez used momentum to take both men to the corner and get the rollover pinfall win.

(2) Keith Walker and Ryck Lon defeated Team Elite (Mike Knox & Derrick Neikirk).

Lon and Neikirk started out with Lon using his strength to toss Neikirk around and using the referee’s count to his advantage. Neikirk used quickness to avoid a corner splash and hit a belly to belly suplex that sent Lon to the floor to regroup. This meant Walker tagging in but getting taken down by a legsweep from Neikirk. Knox tagged in and laid in some chops before taking Walker down to the mat. The Team Elite advantage went well with several tags but came to a screeching halt when Walker tossed Neikirk to the floor and the ring post shoulder first. Lon and Walker made several tags working over the injured arm but not getting a pin or submission from Neikirk. Team Elite was close to a tag but Walker knocked Knox to the floor so he couldn’t tag in. Somehow Neikirk survived and made the tag to the well rested Knox who came in ready to fight. Knox slammed Lon and hit a standing splash but got two, even though the timekeeper felt it was three. Lon and Walker used this controversy to get a pinfall win.

(3) In a ladies match refereed by Krissy Vaine, Nattie Neidhart defeated Shantelle Taylor.

In case you wondered, yes she is the daughter of Jim “the Anvil” Neidhart. Both ladies squared off with a series of moves that led Neidhart to try for the Sharpshooter but Taylor got to her feet. Neidhart used a hand full of hair to drive Taylor’s face into the mat before hitting a chest chop. Neidhart hit a slam and got two which only made her angry and led to a momentary cat fight situation. Neidhart blocked a kick and sent Taylor to the mat in a split. This set up another attempt at the Sharpshooter but Taylor countered into a small package for two. Both ladies collided mid ring and scrambled to their feet to hold a forearm shiver contest but Taylor hit a series of clotheslines and a running knee but got two. Taylor and Vaine argued over a possible slow count and it nearly cost Taylor the match as Neidhart hit a facebuster for two. This led to an argument between Neidhart and Vaine. When Neidhart turned around she got hit with a Chick Kick but Vaine refused to count the pin. Neidhart regained her senses and rolled up Taylor for a fast counted pinfall win.

(4) In a “Triple Threat” match, 2006 Jeff Peterson Memorial Cup competitor “Stampede Kid” TJ Wilson defeated Afa Anoai of the Samoan Fight Club and G-Rilla.

I don’t think Wilson and Anoai together weighed as much as G-Rilla and Anoai tried to form an alliance with Wilson. It lased all of five seconds as he allowed Smith to run right into G-Rilla who tossed Wilson to the floor. Anoai had no choice but to lock up with G-Rilla who escaped a waistlock and a headlock sending Anoai to the floor as Wilson came in. Wilson tried to take G-Rilla’s legs out but Anoai came back in and attacked Wilson with a bodyslam. For a moment Anoai and G-Rilla worked together to work over Wilson’s back but as before, Anoai broke the deal attacking G-Rilla from behind. Wilson fought back trying to take G-Rilla to the corner but G-Rilla took Wilson up with a bodyslam as Anoai used the dreaded Samoan headbutt to get control. Instead G-Rilla hit a clothesline that sent Anoai to the floor. Wilson tried to attack but it backfired as G-Rilla slammed him but his power bomb was stopped when Anoai hit him with a superkick. Wilson recovered and hit Anoai with a springboard headscissor and a slingshot legdrop to the apron. This allowed G-Rilla to recover and he tossed Wilson to the floor but Wilson caught the ropes and hit a springboard dropkick for two. Wilson hit two forearms but when he went to the ropes for momentum, Anoai held the ropes open and Wilson went to the floor. Somehow Anoai hit G-Rilla with a Samoan Drop and a top rope frog splash but couldn’t get the pin as the move knocked the wind out of his body. Wilson waited on the apron for Anoai to get to his feet and hit a springboard into a sunset flip to win the hard fought bout.

(5) Kofi Kingston defeated Johnny Curtis.

Kingston and Curtis traded takeovers but Kingston held on for an armbar but Curtis immediately went to the ropes for the break. Kingston got Curtis in a hammerlock but it was reversed only to have Kingston reverse the hold into a mat based hammerlock. Kingston dropped a knee on the arm but Curtis got to his feet only to be hit with two armdrags and a hip toss. Curtis backed to a corner and used Kingston’s tights for leverage as he sent Kingston face first into the bottom turnbuckle. Curtis used every dirty trick he could think of to take control of the match, from chokes on the ropes to hair pulling. Curtis took Kingston down into a body scissor but released the hold to inflict more punishment but it backfired as Kingston hit armdrag. Kingston countered out of a back suplex and hit a dropkick and stopped a corner move with an elbow to Curtis’ jaw. Kingston hit several palm strikes to the chest and hit ten punches in the corner. Kingston hit a Thunderbolt Patterson finisher and a legdrop but got two. Kingston hit a top rope splash but the momentum allowed Curtis to pin Kingston with his feet on the ropes. But Dr. Tom Pritchard told the referee that the feet were on the ropes and ordered the match be restarted. It didn’t go long as Kingston won via pinfall after hitting a spinning leg lariat.

(6) Southern Heavyweight champion Harry Smith vs. “Bad Seed” Shawn Osborne (w/Heath Wallace Miller Esq.)

Before the match Osborne demanded the fans cheer for him, of course this led to the fan reining boos on him and his manager. Miller also took some time to insult the fans and Smith. Smith did his talking in the ring with armdrags and hiptosses which kept Osborne on the defensive. Smith hit several moves but refused to release Osborne’s left arm. Osborne avoided a corner move and went up top but Smith took him back to the mat with an armdrag into an armbar submission hold. Osborne got to the ropes and on a lock up, grabbed Smith in a headlock and punched him in the face. Osborne tossed Smith to the floor where Miller got involved before Osborne came out to slam Smith’s back against the ring apron. Back in the ring Osborne kept attacking the back with a body stretch submission hold. Smith fought to his feet and tried to reverse the hold but instead kneed Osborne in the gut. Osborne blocked a kick and locked Smith in a sleeper hold, which nearly got him the title but Smith fought to his feet. Smith ducked a punch and hit Osborne with a back suplex but both men struggled to their feet. Smith blocked several punches as he hit Osborne with several. Smith hit a bodyslam and two dropkicks followed by a powerslam for two. Smith had Osborne up for the Running Powerslam but Osborne slid off and hit a neckbreaker for two. Smith got an inside cradle for two but Osborne got to his feet first hitting a clothesline. Osborne went for a running knee to the corner but Smith moved and hit the Davey Boy Smith Running Powerslam to retain the title. After the match the fans let Osborne know they thought he sucked.

(7) In the main event, Hacksaw Jim Duggan defeated Doink the Clown.

At the bell Duggan refused to put down his trusty 2x4 until Doink put down his rubber chicken. Finally we got to action as both men fought for control of a collar-elbow tie up. Doink got in a kneelift but Duggan got in three clotheslines that sent Doink to the floor. Doink came back in and Duggan offered a free punch but Duggan blocked it and hit several right hand punches of his own sending Doink to the floor once more. Doink came back in and saw a backdrop coming so he kicked Duggan in the chest and began a series of Greco-roman choke holds risking a DQ. Duggan fought out of a rear chinlock but ran right into another kneelift from Doink. Doink locked in the chinlock again, putting all his weight on Duggan’s neck. Once again Duggan used the crowd’s energy to get a boost of adrenaline to fight up to his feet. Duggan blocked a corner move and hit Doink with ten punches to the head. Duggan threw Doink to a neutral corner and hit his patented football clothesline to win.

WSU Girls Return on 7/14: First Champ to be Crowned/More!!!

WSU Womens Division Returns on 7/14!

WSU Presents Its Third All Girls Event
When: Saturday, July 14th
Time: 8PM Belltime
Where: The ECPW Wrestling School
87-A Beverwyck Road
Lake Hiawatha, NJ
Tickets: $7 Preorder/$10 the day of the show

WSU Womens Division To Crown First Ever Champion!

Saturday, July 14th will be a historic day for WSU, as WSU crowns the first ever WSU Womens Champion! Due to all the heated action in WSU, matches will be taking place as scheduled, but there will be a catch- every singles match winner will be placed in the first ever Womens Suicidal Six-Way Match, with the first wrestler to score a pinfall or submission becoming the first ever WSU Womens Champion!

Here are the six qualifying matches, with the six winners wrestling in the main event of the show for the WSU Womens Championship!

Alicia vs Becky Bayless II

Amy Lee vs Alere Little Feather

Daffney vs Nikki Roxx

Amber vs Mia Love

Alexa Thatcher vs Barbie

Luna Vachon vs Mystery Opponent!

Also taking place on the show is a special tag team match with The Diva Killaz vs The Soul Sisters!

The six qualifying matches are full of emotion. Alicia & Becky Bayless had a bloody match on the 3/3 show. While Alicia won that match, Becky Bayless sent Luna Vachon to take Alicia out on 5/5. Alicia was able to get by Luna but left seriously bruised and battered. Now on 7/14, Becky Bayless, after missing the 5/5 show for intense training will return to the squared circle to get her revenge on the self-proclaimed queen of Jersey, Alicia.

Things have been hot and fiery between Alere Little Feather & Amy Lee. On 3/3, Amy Lee cut a profanity laced obscene promo, questioning the girls in WSU. The 18 year veteran than took it upon herself to wipe out the Diva Killaz single handedly. Alere Little Feather took offense and tried taking on Amy Lee, only to find out that this wasn't going to be David vs Goliath. After being suspended due to her actions and f-bomb tirades, Amy Lee returns to WSU and Alere looks forward to the challenge. On 5/5, Alere defeated the larger Della'Morte in a match to prepare vs Amy Lee. Now, on 7/14
there is much more on the line than their personal issues, as the winner will move on to the match to crown the first ever WSU Womens Champion!

Daffney vs Nikki Roxx is a special attraction match WSU is putting on. Both have expressed their interest in WSU and would like nothing better than to walk away with the WSU Womens title. Daffney, who is coming off a loss to Talia on 3/3 looks to get on the winning track on 7/14 as she battles newcomer Nikki Roxx. Both competitors are pysched for the match and with a chance to become WSU Womens Champion, the stakes have beeen considerably raised.

Luna Vachon will be in the house on 7/14. Coming off a loss to Alicia on 5/5, Luna looks to add more gold to her resume, in the shape of the WSU Womens title. Luna has put out an open challenge on 7/14. Many girls on the WSU roster want nothing to do with Luna after the way Luna destroyed Alicia on 5/5, but with an open contract and the chance to become the first ever WSU Womens champion, you can expect someone big to answer the challenge. Luna welcomes all comers. However, one must wonder what's going to happen with both Luna and Alicia in the same building as Luna has vowed her revenge on Alicia.

Two other qualifying matches take place on 7/14. Both Amber, Mia Love, Alexa Thatcher & Barbie have the chance to become WSU Womens Champion. All four realize they are the underdogs on this show and look to make a huge upset on 7/14. It wouldn't be the first time for Alexa Thatcher, who won the NWS Womens J-Cup last year. Amber is coming off a recent loss to Alicia, which took place on 6/23. Amber held her own and despite losing, has built up alot of confidence. Barbie & Mia Love, who are no strangers to WSU look to make their mark and will look out to upset everyone and win WSU Womens gold!

The Diva Killaz will also take on the Soul Sisters on 7/14. Kayla Sparks & Miss Deville, the Diva Killaz, have not been on the same page in WSU. On 3/3, both took each other on in a special challenge match and seemed to be fine. However, as backstage DVD footage showed us, The First Lady of Wrestling, Missy Hyatt, stirred the pot between them. Trouble has been brewing for the Diva Killaz and it seems it's only a a matter of time before something seriously bad happens. However, The Diva Killaz have assured WSU management that everything is "peachy keen" and look forward to the Soul Sisters, Jana & Latasha's challenge on 7/14. The Soul Sisters were victorious on 5/5 against the Diva Killaz and The Diva Killaz look to even the score while the Soul Sisters look to repeat history.

All this and much much more will take place on 7/14. There are 12 people looking to win the prestigious WSU Womens title. WSU has been in negotiations with other indy promotions that despite whomever wins the WSU title, that the WSU Womens champion can defend the championship at any indy event. That means after 7/14, the WSU Womens title could potentially change hands at another indy event in any part of the world! However, that is looking too far ahead as all roads lead to 7/14! Be there on July 14th as the girls of WSU show you what womens wrestling is all about.

Tickets are $7 at the door, or $10 the day of the show. To order tickets, visit WSUWrestling.com or email us at wrestlinguniverse@hotmail.com or order over the phone by dialing 718 746 0010!

IWA Mid-South returns to Philly June 30th

IWA comes to Philly tomorrow with POINT PROVEN!

The latest change...Michael Elgin was injured this weekend and has notified us that he will be out for 4-6 months according to his doctor. The team of Pretty Unreal is now out of the Tag Title TLC Scramble.

Added to the lineup is Mickie Knuckles defending the IWA Women's title vs. Rachel Putski; Arrogance vs. Cheech & Cloudy plus one more match!

IWA Mid-South returns to Philadelphia, PA with an unbelievably large show. Here is your information for this event.

IWA Mid-South presents
POINT PROVEN!

Saturday Night June 30th, 2007
New Alhambra Arena
7 Ritner Street
Philadelphia, PA

Bell Time - 8 pm; Doors Open at 7 pm

Ticket Prices: $35 front row, $30, $25 and $20 general admission

We have had to make some lineup changes due to several reasons. First off all, "Lightning" Mike Quackenbush and Davey Richards will be in Japan at the time of this show so they have to be removed from the lineup. Also, Super Dragon reinjured himself at the Candido Cup so he have decided to do away completely with the PWG six man tag match. Also, Matt Sydal has informed us that he is going to Japan for the summer so we have decided to not risk him winning the heavyweight title and then leaving for several months so we have changed the heavyweight title match. Here is the revised lineup.

Main Event - Tag Team Warfare

Tough Crazy Bastards (Necro Butcher & Toby Klein)
vs.

The Rottweilers (Low Ki & Homicide)

Necro Butcher has come up just short on two occassions against Low Ki in singles competition but this time he gets his chance at revenge in a tag team encounter. Toby Klein is Necro's long standing partner and wouldn't mind getting his hands on Low Ki either so Low Ki had to go out and find a partner that could stand up to the hardcore icons of Necro and Toby. No one doubts that Homicide was the perfect choice for his partner. This matchup should be one of the hardest hitting matches in IWA history!

The Kings of Wrestling (Chris Hero & Claudio Castagnoli) vs. BLKOUT (Ricky Reyes & Sabian)

Tag Team Scramble TLC Match for IWA Tag Titles

Champions - The Iron Saints vs. Team PWU (Johnny Kashmere & Devon Moore) vs.Naptown Dragons (Vortekz & xOMGx)

Strong Style Showdown - Drake Younger vs. TNA star Hotstuff Hernandez

Drake Younger wants to prove that he can go toe to toe with TNA's LAX member Hotstuff Hernandez. Drake has shot into stardom the past year and has been winning titles everywhere he has gone. Can he continue to impress or will Hernandez prove to everyone that Drake still has a ways to go before he can be considered a dominant force in the wrestling world?

IWA Mid-South World Heavyweight Title Match - Champion Chuck Taylor vs. Josh Abercrombie

Josh Abercrombie held the light heavyweight title for over a year straight before Brandon Thomaselli defeated him. Josh is ready to be the streak ender this time as he tries to end the 2nd longest IWA heavyweight title reign in history currently held by Chuck Taylor.

4 Team Hardcore Rumble

2 teams start out for the first 5 minutes then every 2 minutes after that, another team gets added to the mix. The tag team that wins gets an invite to the Double Death Tag Team Tournament in November.

The Devil's Rejects (TANK and ICEBERG) vs. BRAIN DAMAGE and DERANGED (Vulgar Display of Power) vs. Six Feet Under (Insane Lane & Freak Show) vs. Children of Pain (Jacob Ladder & Darrin Childs)

"The Feel Good Comedy of the Summer" - Tracy Smothers with Z Barr vs. "Black Machismo" Jay Lethal

I don't think much more needs to be said about this contest. How will "Black Machismo" responds when "If the South Would Have Won, We'd of Had It Made" starts playing? How will Tracy respond to Black Machismo? This could rival the 8 man tag at the 2004 Strong Style Tournament.

High Flying Sensations - 2 out of 3 falls - Matt Sydal vs. Human Tornado

Just added:

IWA Mid-South Women's Title - Champion - Mickie Knuckles vs. Rachel (Putski) Summerlyn

Tag Team Match

Arrogance (Scott Lost & Chris Bosh) vs. Up in Smoke (Cheech & Cloudy)

plus one more match

Tickets for this event are already on sale. You can purchase your tickets before hand by going to www.paypal.com and sending payment for the tickets to rottenwife@aol.com.

Tickets will also be available at the door the night of the event.

Keep looking at this message as well as elsewhere in the thread for further updates to this show!

See you in Philly.

Bodog Fight: Puder Found in Paradise Lost

Bodog Fight's Puder Found in Paradise Lost

For Immediate Release

June 29, 2007

There's always a healthy degree of skepticism when it comes to cross-over athletes. A few have enjoyed success, like Bo Jackson, Deion Sanders and Dennis Rodman (or was he a cross-dressing success?), but remember when Michael Jordan tried his hand at baseball? Yikes.

The world of mixed martial arts is no stranger to two-sport athletes, although the best examples have all left behind their former sports to pursue a full-time career in MMA. Boxers like Tommy Morrison and Ray Mercer, Olympic wrestlers like Bodog Fight's own Matt Lindland, and pro wrestlers like Brock Lesnar and Daniel Puder.

Daniel Puder
The 25-year-old Puder won World Wrestling Entertainment's first "Tough Enough Challenge" in 2004, but he drew the ire of Vince McMahon by straying from the promoter's plan to have the popular Kurt Angle punish him during a WWE event. Instead, Puder humiliated Angle in front of a live audience by trapping the former Olympic Gold Medal wrestler in a "key lock". Angle has vowed revenge ever since.

If he wants his reprisal, Angle will have to follow Puder to MMA, but it won't be easy. Puder is undefeated in four fights heading into his heavyweight bout with Michael Alden on the next episode of Bodog Fight: Paradise Lost this Tuesday, July 3rd at 11 p.m. / 10 p.m. Central on ION television and in Canada on The Fight Network.

The 23-year-old Alden is also undefeated at 6-0, and is expected to provide Puder with his toughest test to date. But Puder says his wrestling pedigree has prepared him well for the rigors of MMA.

"I think that pro-wrestling toughens you up," he says. "You're falling more, you're being dropped more and you can get hurt a lot quicker. I've been flash KO'd a few times and I had to keep going in the match."

But according to Bodog Fight founder Calvin Ayre, cross-over MMA athletes like Puder are the exception rather than the rule.

"MMA is such a multi-dimentional sport that most cross-over athletes find the transition difficult, so bringing them into an organization like Bodog Fight requires a different approach," says Ayre. "You have to assess their progress carefully. Matching them up with appropriate opponents can sometimes be difficult."

If Angle does eventually make the jump to MMA, Ayre would have no problem finding him an opponent.

"Puder would be the obvious choice, but Kurt would probably want to get a few fights under his belt first," says Ayre. "But as a fan, I'd love to see that fight."

Can't catch the action on ION (or The Fight Network in Canada)? All episodes of the Bodog Fight series are available worldwide through streaming video at BodogFight.com, with behind-the-scenes exclusives, fighter bios and additional footage only available online.

About Bodog Fight

Since its inception in 2006, Bodog Fight has become one of the heavy-hitters in the world of mixed martial arts. Created by billionaire entertainment mogul and longtime MMA enthusiast, Calvin Ayre, Bodog Fight offers viewers a unique combination of action and allure from exotic locations throughout the world. Bodog Fight can be viewed in more than 90 million homes across the United States on ION Television and around the world on Bodog.TV. EXAMINING THIS SUNDAY'S CARD
Sara Del Rey was able to overcome the interference of Rain and everything that Lacey threw at her earlier this month in Berwyn to become the first ever SHIMMER Champion. Lacey is out to keep Sara's title reign limited to one month, and has the opportunity to even the score in Inverness, with the belt on the line.
The Amazing Kong vs. Nikki Roxx bout from Volume 5 became one of the most talked about matches on the SHIMMER DVD series due to the brutal style of Kong mixed with the tremendous heart and determination of Roxx. After the match against Kong, Nikki became more determined than ever, and began a winning streak in SHIMMER competition, working her way up to the main event level in SHIMMER. Does Nikki now have what it takes to overcome the sheer size and power of the undefeated Amazing Kong? We will find out this Sunday at "Hot Summer Nights!"
Cindy Rogers felt under appreciated by the SHIMMER fans, and stated on Volume 8 that she has to do whatever it takes to climb to the top of the roster and "get noticed." Allison Danger tried to steer Cindy on the right path as her tag team partner on Volume 9, only for Cindy to turn on her and walk out on the match.
This led to a series of wild brawls between the two, including a grudge match on Volume 10, a street fight on Volume 11, and a Dog Collar Chain Match on Volume 12. Danger demanded the Dog Collar stipulation after Cindy attacked her with a chain following the street fight, and Cindy was able to come up the winner of the match, despite being out of her element in a hardcore style contest.
Danger requested another match against Rogers for "Hot Summer Nights" to avenge her loss in the Dog Collar Match, but Cindy would only agree to it if she had the option of picking the stipulation. Danger agreed, and Cindy selected a Two out of Three Falls match for Inverness.
Rogers has stated that all she needs in order to prove that she is better than Allison Danger is her technical wrestling ability, and feels that a Two out of Three Falls scientific wrestling match is the perfect way to prove it. "I don't need weapons or chains to beat her again. I'll do it with my skill, and show everyone yet again why The Definition of Techician deserves to be at the top of the card."
As many of you know, Tiana Ringer had to miss the SHIMMER Title Tournament events on 6/1 & 6/2 due to a death in the family. Tiana informed us this past Saturday afternoon that she has made the decision to take some time off from professional wrestling, to focus more on personal matters for the time being. She will unfortunately not be a part of next weekend's FIP events and the SHIMMER show in Florida as a result. All of us at SHIMMER wish Tiana the very best, and there is always an open door for her here at SHIMMER whenever she decides that she is ready to get back into action.
With Tiana removed from the card, that freed up a spot on Sunday's show. Trying to make the most of this opportunity, Daffney has stepped up to the plate to fill the void, and will make her first appearance as a wrestler in SHIMMER on July 1st in Inverness! On the heels of The Experience suffering their first tag team loss to Daffney's duo of Cheerleader Melissa & MsChif earlier this month in Berwyn, Lexie Fyfe has requested to be Daffney's first opponent in SHIMMER competition.
Also just signed for Sunday's event is a first time SHIMMER meeting between two women who broke into pro wrestling in the same region of the country, and who have both grown tremendously as wrestlers in the time since, as both allies and enemies along the way. MsChif will face Daizee Haze one on one at "Hot Summer Nights" next Sunday!
For directions to the venues for this weekend's events, we suggest you use www.mapquest.com.

Don’t miss your chance to find out why the true recognized name of excellence in professional wrestling in Ohio IS Cleveland All-Pro Wrestling!

SPOTLIGHT MATCH OF THE WEEK

Dominic Denucci vs. Lord Zoltan
Without question, one of the most timeless competitors in wrestling history is the legendary Dominic Denucci. Despite several decades of competition in the sport, Denucci is still as tough and fearless as he ever was. This former WWWF Tag Team Champion is not only a well respected wrestler, but an accomplished trainer as well. Denucci trained multiple-time World Champions Mick Foley and “The Franchise” Shane Douglas in the mid-1980s, running them through rigorous training routines that would instill a work ethic and pain threshold in them evident for years to come. Denucci’s opponent on August 5 is another timeless athlete, someone who’s had consistent regional success throughout Ohio, Pennsylvania and beyond for over 30 years, the one and only Lord Zoltan. The bizarre Zoltan has been in the ring with virtually every top star of wrestling’s past and present, including a memorable run-in with The Honky Tonk Man in CAPW earlier this year. Two timeless veterans respected over the entire region and beyond will do battle on August 5.

REMAINING ANNOUNCED CARD FOR CAPW NIGHT OF LEGENDS: SUNDAY AUGUST 5!

CAPW Heavyweight Title Cage Match: The Blue Meanie vs. Jason Bane
Alex Shelley & Chris Sabin vs. Johnny Gargano & Josh Prohibition
Grudge Match: “Dogfaced Gremlin” Rick Steiner vs. Buff Bagwell
CAPW Tag Titles: Faith in Nothing vs. Tracy Smothers & Chris Hamrick
CAPW Jr. Heavyweight Title: Super Hentai vs. Shark Boy vs. The Aftermath
CAPW TV Title: Conrad Kennedy III vs. Carlton Kaz
Aerial Insanity: Too Cold Scorpio vs. “M-Dogg 20” Matt Cross
Mythical Six-Man Tag Titles: JT Lightning/Da Munchies vs. Superfly Jimmy Snuka/Q&A
Mixed Tag: Robbie Starr & Lexi Lane vs. JD Michaels & April Hunter

Open Challenge: Hardcore Rules: Jessica Havok vs. Luna Vachon
Jessica Havok is the most intimidating female presence to ever step foot into a CAPW ring. Since signing on as JT Lightning’s personal bodyguard, Jessica has earned her keep by annihilating every opponent, both male and female, that has been put in her path. Havok has made it a habit to dispose of one, two, or sometimes up to four different opponents in the same night. It is clear no woman on CAPW’s regular roster can pose a challenge to Jessica Havok, but on Sunday August 5 she’ll be opposed by someone not like anyone on CAPW’s active roster: Luna Vachon. One needs only to look at the menacing snear and grating voice of Luna to know how dangerous she can become. And anyone who questions her toughness need only look at her legendary family of aunts and uncles (Maurice “Mad Dog” Vachon, Paul “Butcher” Vachon, and Vivian Vachon) to know she has been bred for success from a very young age. On August 5, Luna brings her wild unpredictable style rarely if ever seen in women’s professional wrestling today, and she also brings Hardcore Rules. No disqualifications, anything goes. Will Jessica Havok be able to withstand one of wrestling’s wildest women, or has the master of the “Open Challenge” finally met her match?

“Wildfire” Tommy Rich vs. Chris Cronus
Tommy Rich has been a major player in professional wrestling for well over 25 years. Another athlete who was wise beyond his years, Rich’s fiery demeanor and textbook wrestling technique propelled Rich to early and major success. Rich became the youngest ever NWA World Heavyweight Champion, defeating Harley Race in April of 1981, and went on to capture several other national and regional championships throughout his career. Rich, a southern boy born and bred through his entire career, experienced an unlikely career resurgence in ECW in the late-90s as the leader of the “Full Blooded Italians”. Known as “The Big Don”, his Italian heritage was always highly in question, but his toughness never was, regularly surviving wars with everyone from The Blue Meanie to New Jack. Now, Wildfire makes his way to CAPW to battle Chris Cronus, someone who much like Rich, has achieved major success at a very young age. It’s the old guard vs. the new guard August 5th when Cronus meets Tommy Rich.

TRACY SMOTHERS UPDATE

A late-breaking declaration has been made by CAPW management to deny Tracy Smothers’ requests for inclusion in the Heavyweight Title Cage Match between Jason Bane and The Blue Meanie on August 5. Management has ruled that for the sake of fair competition and the best possible main event for the fans, the issue of who will be CAPW Champion should be left between champion Meanie and top contender Bane. Smothers is still slated to re-unite with former CAPW Champion Chris Hamrick to challenge Tag champions Faith In Nothing.

4 Time TNA X-Division Champion Chris Sabin will be making his CWE debut against the high flying Matt Cross. Cross has been a regular in the CWE for some time, and this match will truly decide the path he takes in the company. This match will be one to be remembered.

Faith in Nothing have been on a hot streak since the beginning of things when they defeated the North Star Express at The Dawning. Now they face of with a new tandem in the CWE; Ring of Honor trainees Rhett Titus and Shane Hagadorn. These men have trained with the best the business has to offer, and will provide difficult opposition to FIN. The one question at hand is where there allegiances lie, but we will find out July 20th!

1PW Returns to Doncaster Dome this weekend

1PW PRESS RELEASE 28/6/07
From the Head Office of One Pro Wrestling

KNOW YOUR ENEMY - THIS WEEKEND

Despite the bad weather of the past week in England, 1PW presents Know Your Enemy this Saturday and Sunday LIVE from the home of 1PW, the Doncaster Dome. Two huge evening cards, both with door times of 5pm and show times of 6.30pm take place this weekend ( one Saturday and one Sunday ) , in addition to an afternoon card on Sunday and two very special events from the 1PW Academy.

There are still tickets remaining for the shows, priced between £15 and £45, they are available by calling the Doncaster Dome Box Office on 01302 370777, or online via www.1pwonline.com, or www.1pwstore.com . Tickets can be purchased via the 1PW web site up until midnight on Friday Night, and will now be left at the Dome Box Office for collection.

MARTY JANNETTY TO MISS THIS WEEKEND’S EVENTS

1PW regrets to inform its fans, that due to circumstances beyond the control of both parties, Marty Jannetty will be unable to appear at this weekend’s Know Your Enemy live events. Mr. Jannetty will instead be attending the funeral of “Sensational” Sherri Martel, and serving as a pallbearer in the service. Due to recent tragedies, we fully understand and support Mr. Jannetty’s decision to forego our events and direct his attention to more serious matters. One Pro Wrestling sends it’s condolences to Mr. Jannetty and all individuals effected by the overwhelmingly tragic events in recent times. One Pro Wrestling, however, intends to press forward, and continues to strive to provide you the best professional wrestling possible this weekend as we continue to usher in this new era of 1PW.

PAC TO MISS NIGHT ONE

As reported yesterday via the 1PW Fan Forum, the 1PW Open Weight Champion PAC will sadly miss Night One of Know Your Enemy, due to travel issue’s preventing him from getting back to England from Italy in time. Pac will still make his scheduled No Gravity Required title defence against Trent Acid, but this defence will now take place Sunday evening.

Also, 1PW received word yesterday that due to a bereavement in Jack Storms family, Team Supreme are also unable to make the shows this weekend.

CARD CHANGES

1PW Officials have been hard at work on some slight alterations to the cards for this weekend, having been affected by recent issues. On Saturday Night James Wallace will now face off against Trent Acid. Acid is the man who has bumped Wallace from his coveted OW title shot on Sunday evening, and Wallace surely wont be happy about that. Acid needs to prove here that he is worthy of the title shot, although no matter the result of this match Trent Acid will face Pac on Sunday evening in the huge No Gravity Required match.

On Sunday night, Doug Williams will now face El Generico, in what should be one of the best bouts of the entire weekend.

Rich Crunkilton to get lightweight title shot at WEC 30

MMA Weekly lists WEC 30 as taking place on 09/05 and airing on the Versus network.

According to that site's rumor section the show will be headlined by a WEC lightweight title bout where Rich Crunkilton will face Rob McCullough.

WEC 29 is set for Sunday, August 5 on Versus and is set to be headlined by Paulo Filho Vs. Joe Doerksen for the vacant WEC Middleweight title and Carlos Condit defending his welterweight title against Brock Larson.

If all these come to pass, the only thing I can say is in agreement with Sam Caplan's thoughts that the WEC is going to put on some awesome fights.

Casey's Commentary: TNA iMPACT 06/28/2007

Welcome to TNA iMPACT coverage. Lets see if I can get through this, I failed with ECW on Tuesday.

Show opens with a video recap of Cornette explaining the Victory Road main event from last week.

We open with West and Tenay talking about tonight's world title match. A video airs with comments from Angle, Rhino and Christian.

Tale of the tape, followed by the entrences of all the participants.

We even get the UFC style intros...

Samoa Joe gets an intro and I believe he's going to do commentary. Nice of TNA to let him be close to the ring for his run-in.

Instead of commentating...Joe decides to comment to Angle by beating him up.

Match has not officially started, so we go to a...

Commercial Break!!!
I liked the way they hyped up the match, made it seem special. The rest of my commentary for the show is behind the cut.

Match 1: Rhino Vs. Christian Cage Vs. Kurt Angle - TNA Championship

There's not a lot happening I feel like writing about.

TNA is doing a deal where you can vote for 3D's opponents on TNA mobile.

  1. LAX
  2. AJ Styles and Christopher Daniels
  3. The Naturals

Yeah, I'm voting for the Naturals...don't know about you. The top 2 teams get the shot.

They are talking about how later in this show there will be an X-division showcase match including Eric Young. Its smart...you want to make it seem like other stuff is planned even if it isn't, so as to not telegraph finishes and match length.

Commercial Break.
Match is ok, but I wouldn't call it anything special at this point.

A Victory Road commercial airs or something.

We're back and I apologize for this recap. I've got 2 people here and it is hard for me to focus on what's hapening. Add to that, the fact that its just a standard match and I do my best work talking wacky angles and stuff...and this just isn't what I wanted to be.

Oh, yeah, somewhere in here Christian was attacked by Abyss. I apologize for not knowing where, I'm just finding it hard to focus.

Tomko and Styles go outside where Abyss and christian were fighting and they attack Abyss while Rhino and Angle wrestle in the ring.

Then, we go to another...commercial Break!!!

We're back and Rhino gores Angle through a table in the ring, just a few seconds later.

Christian has a nearfall...but Harris brings him out of the ring.

Tomko and Styles come in the building to take Harris off of Christian.

I expect more people to interfere...and right on Cue, Abyss re-enters the picture.

Here comes Sting to help Abyss and it is the parade of TNA stars~!

Commercial Break!!!

Back from the break and we're back with people fighting all over the place. Tomko is bloody, Sting is fighting Styles...there's about 600 guys out here.

A bunch of stuff is happening now but amazingly, its all in the ring involving the 3 wrestlers...but then again, they just showed Storm and Tomko spitting beer so maybe not.

Angle hits the Olympic slam, and gets the pin.

Winner: Kurt Angle

My Thoughts: Hard to really say, my mind is just not in this.

Interesting experiment though and I commend them for that.
